QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 24, 2005 -> 11:32 PM) Holy f***ing hell, even god damn batter is 0-2 CORPESBALL It's definitely back to corpseball right now. We need to change something on offense, no doubt. The team average has probably fallen about 30 points in the last 4 days. -

Don't look now, but we only have two hits. These idiots. -

Even though Uribe didn't swing at that 3rd pitch, that was a hideous at-bat for him anyway. Did it look like Pods really wasn't hustling that much on the groundout? -

These Angel fans are just as bad as Cub "fans" with high fly outs. They sound like someone hit a no-doubter every time. -

I like how DJ referred to Buehrle as a future gold glove winner. Who won the gold gloves for pitchers last year? Was it Maddux again and someone else? -

I never liked Garret Anderson. 1-1 now. Maybe we can score some more runs? Maybe not? -

I tried to go to the chat room, but the browser closed when I clicked on it. The same thing happens when I try to play some online games. Does anyone know why that would happen? Crazy Carl homers, 1-0. -
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 24, 2005 -> 08:19 PM) Can you read? Thank you for sparing me the effort.

QUOTE(doUrememberwhen @ May 24, 2005 -> 08:15 PM) 700 ft huh....hmhm Yeah, I didn't think something that was so blatantly sarcastic would need to be green.
-
QUOTE(3E8 @ May 24, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) For some reason, Chavez hits worse at US Cellular than any other park. Except when he's hitting 700 foot bombs. I know that means nothing, I'm just referencing that gigantic homer.

Randa .285 AVG 4 HR 23 RBI .370 OBP .437 SLG .807 OPS Crede .238 AVG 4 HR 16 RBI .300 OBP .378 SLG .678 OPS Randa makes 2.1 million this year, Crede makes 400 thousand. If Randa's D is around that of Crede, I think he'd be better for this team. Especially since he can be signed for another year as a stopgap until Fields is ready.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ May 24, 2005 -> 07:09 PM) I would think that they would let PK go and trade for Jim Thome. Phillies are almost out of it, he's better than PK, he's a name in the mlb and is a former Indian. It's a K-dub movie. Do you really think that could happen? I mean, Thome's making a lot of money, right?
-
QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ May 24, 2005 -> 07:32 PM) Joe Randa could be had for so, so much cheaper and the Sox would not have to give up any outfield prospects or an A pitching prospect. You could easily see a Tracey for Randa trade going down, and Randa wouldn't kill team payroll for years to come. How's Randa's defense, though?

I hope KW does everything he can possibly do to get Chavez without giving up McCarthy. I mean, pretty much anyone but McCarthy. If he can't get the job done without giving up McCarthy, I'd feel better if he also got a good reliever in the deal.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 24, 2005 -> 12:16 PM) With Kenny Williams, you never know. But there isn't a guy better at filling holes than Kenny is. With all of our starters owned by the team through the end of 2006, we have an extra pitcher with McCarthy making his name heard. Many, many teams will listen if we are talking about a pitcher for 1B. If they're going to trade a starter (which I believe they will), I would say it's El Duque. Most people would say it's either him or Contreras, but the Count has been putting together a very solid season. If he keeps pitching like he is, we shouldn't be trading him. But then who would give us a starting 1B for Hernandez?
-
QUOTE(TheDybber @ May 24, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) How about Polanco and Howard? Howard may be off the trade list because of Thome's back, but there's your 1B next year when Konerko doesn't resign. I'd have to change my pants if that happened. Luckily for my pants, there's not much of a chance that it will.
-
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 24, 2005 -> 12:14 PM) Bad teams don't want to deal young cheap players. They want to deal expensive old players. The guy most likely to be dealt out of Houston is Roger Clemens, and then MAYBE Biggio, if he wanted to go. But that is about it. They aren't going to be dealing guys like Oswalt, Lidge, etc. Who could really afford Clemens this year? He's making too much, I don't think he's going anywhere. The way people talk around here, you'd think the Astros we're dying to get rid of Lidge.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 24, 2005 -> 11:51 AM) Fellas, go back one page and read Dick Allen's post. I was so happy and full of hope for replacing that piece of s*** 3B (who will remain nameless) until I read that post. Now I'm just sad and depressed.
-
QUOTE(YASNY @ May 24, 2005 -> 11:43 AM) Herbert Perry? Herb was a 3B. I'm appalled that you didn't know that.
-
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 24, 2005 -> 08:16 AM) My theory, look for one of the starting pitchers to be dealt for a first baseman and some depth in the off-season. Do you have any ideas on who that 1B might be?
-
QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 24, 2005 -> 11:24 AM) My damn weiner kids are listening. I'm glad that didn't go unnoticed. What's with the coulots, boy? (I don't know how to spell coulots)
-
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 24, 2005 -> 09:16 AM) Why the hell is he too good to turn it around? He has a career 4.69 ERA and he's a one-pitch pitcher. Mike Jackson was also good at one point. A lot of people somehow got it in their heads that he is really good. He had a good year, then he had a bad year, then he had a good half year, and then the next half wasn't good. Now, he is just one of the suckiest sucks that ever sucked.
