  1. How would people rank the prequels? I honestly can't definitively make a list, as they were all sub-par at the very best, but I'd say: Revenge Of The Sith The Phantom Menace Attack Of The Clones I haven't seen any of them all the way through in years, though, so I might need to update that if I see them again.
  2. QUOTE (MEANS @ Feb 10, 2012 -> 02:25 PM) Darth Maul fights Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon Darth Sidious/Palpatine is the Phantom Menace That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure what you were trying to say at first.
  3. QUOTE (MEANS @ Feb 10, 2012 -> 12:00 PM) it's Maul who's in the fight scene, not Sidious, who is "The Phantom Menace". Yes the movie wasn't that great but I still enjoy seeing a SW film in the theater so I will go see this, in part to support the rest of the films being released in 3-D for the next 5 years. Which one are you saying is the phantom menace? You phrased it awkwardly.
  4. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Feb 10, 2012 -> 09:55 AM) Of? Preposition
  5. QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 10, 2012 -> 10:24 AM) So in the interest of correcting and balancing an incorrect portrait of Paterno as a saint, we should also paint an equally incorrect portrait of Paterno as the devil himself? I am certain the people who were eye witnesses or who actually abused kids are happy for the sideshow. Holy s***, guy. Does your contrarian facade know no end?
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 10, 2012 -> 07:29 AM) According to Baseball Reference, Ruth had 113 sacrifice hits. In 1930, he led the league with 49 homers, a 1.225 OPS, and was 5th with 21 sacrifices. That's helpful, thanks.
  7. QUOTE (qwerty @ Feb 10, 2012 -> 07:23 AM) He most definitely had bunt singles in his career. Ruth was faster than one would think. He stole home (I think) 10 times. Granted that those were mainly on double steals, it's still impressive. How about double plays he started from the outfield? Is that out there?
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 10, 2012 -> 06:28 AM) Dunn. Rios. Peavy. His blindness to logic is comical, isn't it?
  9. I'm hardly a comic fan, but I can't see anybody choosing anything but First Class and X2 as the best ones either way.
  10. Is there a way to figure out how many bunt singles Babe Ruth had in his career? I had a guy ask me, and I have no idea how I'd find that.
  11. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 9, 2012 -> 01:31 PM) Fantastic D? But I agree, that's amazing. But also, these rankings mean s***. Staggering as in, I can't believe there are 3 worse 2B's in the division.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Feb 9, 2012 -> 05:45 PM) 1.) I like that post a lot, but I just don't understand why Peavy, Rios, Dunn aren't enough reasons to bury Kenny. Having those guys cost me my favorite player in Mark. I will say this. The booing will start on Opening Day this year and The Cell will be a very very negative place to be with all 3 of those guys getting booed big time all year IMO unless they produce. It will be such a negative place to be. 2.) I love that post. Post of the new year. A lot of Sox fans were against the Dunn signing. My dad was furious. Said Dunn would be a bust. I trusted the folks on here who were so excited and figured it'd be nice to have an automatic 40 homer guy to go with Paulie. Your dad must either be about 33 or 97.
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 9, 2012 -> 06:19 PM) Sorry you liked it, I thought it was terrible. Walk the Line was good, so was 3:10 to Yuma, I thought Kate and leopold was awful, Cop Land was meh. Hopefully he surprises me and it is good, I certainly don't want it to suck. I love three of those movies (Kate And Leopold obviously being the one I don't).
  14. The fact that Beckham is the second-best 2B in the division is STAGGERING.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 9, 2012 -> 01:00 PM) Kevin_Goldstein Kevin Goldstein The Dodgers have signed LHP Andy Sisco, who remains 6-foot-10 and left-handed. Haha.
  16. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Feb 9, 2012 -> 08:38 AM) Oh..............s-m-r-t Again, great reference.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 9, 2012 -> 09:37 AM) Was oldsox the one who called him an NL-only hitter? I believe that was Whitesoxrandy.
  18. QUOTE (oldsox @ Feb 9, 2012 -> 09:26 AM) Baloney! No one else ever paid that much for that long to a DH, who was/is overweight, slow, can't play defense. Not to mention the #1 draft choice that we surrendered. When the deal with Dunn was made, there was much more that could go wrong than could go right, and it happened. Defending Kenny on this move is ridiculous. All of this is pretty ridiculous and revisionist, but the bold part is definitely the dumbest.
  19. The Walking Dead starts this Sunday. That really snuck up on me. It has a lot of room for improvement.
  20. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Feb 8, 2012 -> 05:34 PM) Please ban Greg...he's clearly trolling here. +1
  21. I'd have to go with DA having won that back-and-forth pretty handily.
  22. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Feb 8, 2012 -> 03:55 PM) He doesn't have the Marlins 29th. That would be the Indians. And most publications that had both Marinez and Martinez in the Marlins top 10, were from before last season. 2012 rankings would have dropped them significantly after both had down seasons, even if they remained with the Marlins. I've said it before and I'll repeat it. It was always disheartening to have to rely on acquiring major league players that had fallen off, but it's pretty damn sad that we now have to do the same thing with prospects.
  23. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Feb 8, 2012 -> 03:44 PM) I don't care to argue if Bonds record is legitimate or not but the article does a pretty poor job at it. Ruth didn't have control over who played the game it wasn't his rule non-white athletes weren't allowed in the game and Ted Williams didn't choose to setup Fenway Park the way it is and back than F/A wasn't what it was today. Bonds chose to use steroids to give himself an advantage, now I don't know how much they help but still he chose the action and knew it was illegal, something Ruth or Williams weren't guilty of. I'm aware I ended sentences with propositions. No you didn't.
  24. QUOTE (danman31 @ Feb 8, 2012 -> 02:01 PM) I turned the River off 20 minutes into the second hour. The whiny wife and gullible characters just didn't do it for me. Too many clashes and extremes (I HAVE TO FILM THIS or WE CAN'T LEAVE). It also doesn't need to be found footage. It just adds a layer of implausibility while making it hard to watch. They pretty much wrote it like a regular show with flashbacks and everything. It's got to draw the ignorant masses in with the first few episodes. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt for now. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Feb 8, 2012 -> 03:30 PM) Well his heart won't go on too much longer. Nice.
  25. I think we can all agree that Steve is a jerk, so no need to argue there.
