QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Feb 5, 2012 -> 01:24 AM) I agree. It kept my attention and was entertaining but as I was watching it I just kept thinking how unlikely the whole thing was. I'm glad someone agrees.

Saw that before. Mask or someone actually hiding?

QUOTE (SI1020 @ Feb 4, 2012 -> 01:53 PM) What one is listed at and what one really weighs is sometimes far apart. You might find this interesting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Surkont That would have to be a huge discrepancy from his listed weight for him to be considered fat enough to eat his way off of a team. I've heard of guys being 20 or 30 pounds different, but this guy had to be 50+ pounds heavier than listed.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 4, 2012 -> 01:02 PM) I have to re-watch it again cause I do remember some of the fight scenes being a little over the top but powerbombs do happen every now and than in mma and Rich Franklin was a school teacher before he became a fighter so ya... Those things happen now and then, yes. But the movie was constant things like that. Think of Varsity Blues or something with the repeated crazy hits and such. And again, I said it would be enough to have the teacher win an official MMA tournament for it to be a cool story. Having that guy also beat the undefeated "greatest wrestler of all time" as well was the part that was totally unnecessary.

There is no way a guy of that height and weight could possibly be considered fat.

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 4, 2012 -> 08:03 AM) Goosebumps go away yet? I liked it, but it definitely had a few things going against it. Besides it being saccharine during the last half, almost all of the fights were ridiculously fake. They should have just modeled the fights after real MMA fights (like punch for punch). There was just way too many power bombs, suplexes, and over-the-top take downs for me to really take it seriously. Plus, it really didn't need the school teacher to beat the universally agreed-upon greatest fighter in history that's also undefeated. A guy like that simply winning a professional MMA tournament is plenty.

Watched Man On Wire. I liked it, who the hell had the idea of using white subtitles in a movie where almost half of it is old black and white clips? I couldn't read a lot of it. Watching Warrior right now.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 10:48 PM) I don't get how this can happen. I mean, if I'm hammered, I tend to lose control of my vomit. But s***ting all over a bathroom stall? Really? As soon as he got to the stall, he turned around and pulled his pants down, but started before he could even sit down.

QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 08:52 PM) Dude, I could not figure out how the hell it got on some of those places. It was like someone held the guy in the air and flung him around. And damn, it must have happened like five minutes before I opened the door. It nearly ruined my Hunger Buster and Blizzard Nearly, haha. Yeah, that's something that would cause me to quit on the spot if I were told to clean it up. A friend of mine did something like that once to a toilet. It was at one of those wing places and he simply didn't make it all the way to the toilet, although it was all in the stall. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 09:31 PM) I walked into a bathroom in a pretty nice office complex a few years ago and next to the toilet - NEXT TO THE TOILET - was a 12 inch turd on a piece of toilet paper. Laid out like a trophy on the floor. Who does that? Not a bathroom story, but I was following a truck the other day that was spraying a "mist" out of the top. I changed lanes to avoid the "mist," and when I finally caught it I saw that it was a port-o-potty sanitation truck. Spraying a fine mist of feces and urine in Mesa, AZ. Laying down a nice welcome mat for Theo, I'm sure. This is the greatest thread ever.

QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 08:36 PM) Mine was at the Aragon Brawl Room. The lines during an AC/DC concert were so long that guys lined up to go behind a door with the pee running out from under the door and down the aisles. Legitimate. meant for bathroom was in a Dairy Queen. Someone had diarrhea all over the bathroom. Sink, walls, floor, you name it. Then threw paper towels over it. I laughed for almost a full minute at the second part.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 06:15 PM) Is there any doubt that Cool Runnings is the best movie of all time? You're right, there isn't. No doubt whatsoever.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 02:53 PM) If saying that Alexei could and should have done better on offense last year is "Going after him", then fine, I'm going after him, but then I think I'm "Going after" at least 20+ members of last year's team. Get 'em, Pa. -
QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 04:26 PM) Im hoping to catch a lot of $10 games sitting in lower reserved with stubhub. Wait, are lower reserved the ones that jut out between the upper deck and baseline seats? Like 5 rows deep?

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 03:30 PM) Of course they would. Don't you remember Obama vs. Hillary? That was a bloodbath! However, that didn't hurt as much because the race was open... the Republicans were destroying each other, too. By the time the general election came around, both sides had already made excuses or figured out the lesser of two evils, then it was just Obama's massive social media/younger voter push that made it a no-brainer. Plus, it was change I actually made the mistake of believing in, not realizing that politics are at such a f***ing standstill in this country that hardly anything can get done no matter who is in charge. But yes, with an incumbent, it really makes what the Republicans are doing this year, and to the extent they are doing, about as short-sighted as I've ever seen in politics. All of this, Steve

QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 01:03 PM) I love the off season. I actually spent a moment or two thinking about Don Johnson. Miami Vice was a decent, and entertaining show. The warm pastel colors and pink flamingos made me think of spring in a much nicer way than thinking about this team heading into spring. I'm just not feeling the excitement yet. Nash Bridges all the way.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 01:19 PM) Jesus, this is remarkable. Mittens ran 8000 ads in Florida over the last week...~30 of which were positive. It's not surprising. Ask any average Joe who he's voting for and why, and he'll simply list off the reasons why he ISN'T voting for other candidates.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 07:26 PM) I think the Marlins have made plenty of money the last 5 years. That's what he was saying. -
QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 07:58 PM) I think that the general existence of softball for only girls and baseball for only boys is sexism as well. Why can't both sexes have their own baseball teams? Softball, while competitive is not the same as baseball. What do high school and college athletics groups have against women's baseball? My guess? They suck at it.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 06:59 PM) Playing in a team sport has greatly altered my life, just think about how you learn to communicate, work as a team, achieve goals, deal with failure, with success, etc. I'm not saying everyone has to play baseball or one specific sport, but children should be encouraged to play some sort of sport throughout their life. Providing these opportunities to everyone is crucial imo, not saying that all the bad players need to be on the team, but a secondary team/league should be encouraged, or go find another sport to participate in. That's always been the way, and I think it has worked.

QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 06:27 PM) It is only useless, extra work if you do not believe sports makes a positive influence on someone. If you believe participating in sports makes a positive impact on a young person, it isn't useless. Not even close. That sounds like it's straight from an after-school special, or at least Lifetime.
