  1. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 11:27 AM) JJ Abrams says "Stop asking questions." There are definitely a lot of conveniences for the cops. We have to find the kidnapper! Oh hey I just found a piece of paper that says he worked for a cement company that made bunkers and there's only one in this area! We have to find the sniper! Oh hey I just found a scope in his cell and even though you can see an entire side of San Fran, he must have gone to one of these 2 tall buildings in this photo! J.J. Abrams is very impressive when you're willing to give him every benefit of the doubt and basically do all of the work for him. Otherwise, he's a hack that throws s*** at a wall and people think he's the cleverest person in history because of his glasses or some s***.
  2. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 12:11 PM) LOL, the seagull posting in here is awesome. Let's see how you feel after you have kids. No one is saying they shouldn't keep score. They are saying that maybe 1st graders shouldn't have to worry yet about being cut from their f***ing little league team. Someone start a girls league, then people won't b**** when a girl is cut from a boy league. And seriously, buy the kid a f***ing sundae and she won't even care anymore. It's the parents that are b****es.
  3. The fact that things like this are even news just shows how big of p*****s we are anymore.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 11:20 PM) I'm saying he obviously has a way better reputation than Sox fans who have fried him on here give him credit for since he landed another big league job so quickly. The guy obviously puts in the work and has a decent philosophy. It's not necessarily his fault if the guys with the bats in their hands don't listen and/or fail. And neither is it Ozzie's fault. But you bet your sweet ass it's KW's fault.
  5. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 08:49 PM) When Ice Cube left NWA they went after him and in Real n****z called him "Benedict Arnold" in one of their lines, he replies in a song called "No Vaseline", it just is kind of a stark contract to the Ice Cube of today. I know "No Vaseline" actually.
  6. QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 08:01 PM) Ukrainian women know how to protest. The Occupy movement could learn a lesson or two about getting world wide attention. Expound?
  7. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 03:57 PM) Ice Cube has been through a lot, from NWA to Benedict Arnold to movie career. Go figure. Benedict Arnold?
  8. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 09:55 AM) That's cool. I don't like the thought of having to dread Zombie Konerko coming to the plate. Probably good news for VIciedo too, who will proably end up taking over 1B. Doesn't sound like he's going to try to part-time it to stretch it to 500 homeruns or anything. Which is probably good -- I mean, I'd love to see him in the HOF, but he seems like the kind of guy that would be one of the posterchildren for the impending new wave of guys that have some 'automatic' milestones but aren't getting in, like Johnny Damon. But that's alright. I'm sure he'll be content with a statue and ceremony at USCF. What automatic milestone does Johnny Damon have? You mean if he gets to 3,000?
  9. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 12:49 PM) I don't understand why it matters who he roots for, hell he could be pro French over America for all I care.... you choose who you like/root for and thats that... part of being an American is freedom of choice. Go back to Russia, commie.
  10. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 11:39 AM) It's like the World Cup where idiots all over are rooting for other countries. Yup, you live here. Agreed.
  11. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 27, 2012 -> 02:55 PM) Serbia went 3 for 3 in semifinals today. Djokovic beat Murray, our water polo team beat Italy and our handball team beat Croatia. WOOHOO! I know we've gotten into it before, but which of the following statements would you make if the USA beat Serbia in any particular sport? a.) We lost b.) We won
  12. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 28, 2012 -> 09:08 PM) Finally got around to seeing Fincher's version of Dragon Tattoo. I actually like it better than the Swedish version. Look forward to the other two. Is he doing them all? Read the synopsis I posted from Cracked.
  13. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 12:46 AM) Best thing I've read so far from Beckham... Took him the entirety of a season to figure that out, huh?
  14. QUOTE (soxfan-kwman @ Jan 28, 2012 -> 12:03 PM) The Sox have to much class to say anything, wish more fans did. So you want people to lay off of him for being the worst player ever in his first season with us because of something we had no idea even happened (and still don't)? Get off your high horse and shut up.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 28, 2012 -> 11:15 AM) And suddenly you're the Perry Mason of soxtalk. Full of s***, Milk. OK
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 27, 2012 -> 07:36 AM) So you just decided to come into the thread to uphold the scales of justice then, right? GMAFB. This is a friend of Scenario's. What is the point of you coming in to stick up for this fool that shot his friend's dog? Because the guy might be in the right.
  17. QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 27, 2012 -> 05:41 AM) Come on, the man just died let the body cool before making accusations like that ;-) For a second, I actually thought Ned Beatty died.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 26, 2012 -> 08:45 PM) If you blame the players, then how can you give the manager any credit for winning the World Series? I thought it was all on the players. If he blames the players, he should give them credit for winning. And if he gives them credit for winning, then he should give the most credit to KW. Isn't that the logical solution?
  19. My friend told me that she met Joe Paterno. According to her, she lived near Paterno but only met him once and he appeared drunk at the time. Their pet gerbil was apparently attacked viciously by him on his property. The husband says he came out of his house searching for the rodent when he heard a pop and ran towards it. He then saw the frightened animal running towards him with Paterno in tow with a BB gun, at which point Joe Paterno fired another pellet into the husband's general vicinity. He promptly hurried the gerbil to the veterinarian. My neighbor then confronted St. Joe Pa to question whether or not he had shot the animal. He responded "yes" and immediately bit the head off of a canary, presented a sinister smile, and delivered a pre-teen boy to the lair of Jerry Sandusky. I can't vouch for any of this, though. It's just what she said happened. But I'll tell you one thing. I fully believe it.
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 26, 2012 -> 03:10 PM) What? Give me a break. You're comparing a high-profile case about potential child rape to a local story about a dog being shot by a drunken hillrod and expecting the same amount of evidence gathering. What kind of evidence gathering would you suggest we collect before it is safe in your opinion to commentate (which by the way, I find f***ing ironic as hell since that sure as hell doesn't hold you back from commenting or speculating on any other matter)? You can commentate all you want. The guy was a drunken hillrod who probably also ate the dogs and butt raped men resembling Ned Beatty whenever the chance presented itself.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 26, 2012 -> 11:12 AM) The Grand Jury report is just the Prosecution's most favorable case being presented. It is the same situation as you hearing one party's side of the story. In both cases, they can present only the most favorable evidence available. And to even have a Grand Jury, there needs to be evidence gathering in the first place. With this, we got a woman saying "this is what happened even though I didn't see it". Are we done here yet?
  22. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jan 26, 2012 -> 10:49 AM) Meh, Ozzie put himself in this position. He had Kenny build him that 2010 team the way he wanted and it didn't work out but he kept looking for excuses. JR chose the guy whose family hasn't tarnished the Sox name in the media countless times in the past few years. If you don't think Ozzie was playing Rios ahead of guys like Viciedo just in spite of KW, then you obviously don't know the Guillen family. I am no KW apologetic, but this s*** is Ozzie's s***. Yes sir.
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 26, 2012 -> 10:12 AM) This, if he is successful, increases his trade value. They could get rid of him now but the return probably does not help the Sox in the short or long term except for JRs wallet. If he can close it could change that. Yes, and the same thing can also be true of Crain.
