QUOTE (hi8is @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 09:58 PM) Such a class act and pungent statement directly to Dunn. Hope it hits home if he's reading. Poignant?

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 10:10 PM) Agreed about the villain. The movie around it made it easy to look past that. As for the romance (or lack thereof), I think that it was there, just not as obvious. You could feel how the loss affected him and kind of made chasing Moriarty personal- at least that's the way I saw it. Also thought the brother was a strong supporting actor. Stephen Fry ought to find his way into more movies. I'm pretty sure he does plenty of work, just in things that are seen primarily in England.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 04:38 PM) I say we sign all 4 of these guys. Ah, I was going to make a joke.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 08:38 PM) Sheldon maybe the best written character on any sitcom. I want to punch that character in the face. I enjoy it despite him.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 08:22 PM) The ad I just posted? Lithgow. Really? I could have sworn it was Herrmann. Lithgow is better though, so I'm glad. It makes sense, too. I know he's a "friend of the show".

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 07:31 AM) Joe has already painted himself in the corner putting Peavy on his all man team and saying the issues Peavy had were with Cooper. The more that comes out, the more uninformed Joseph becomes. He'll tweet the White Sox beat writers know the truth crap. Too bad he doesn't. Oney reporting not a lot of people like Jake and Ozzie doesn't start fights he justs finishes them. Also wonders why people don't just let Ozzie be. Coming from the guy that went after Teahen's wife, its priceless. The Guillens are quite funny. They talk about their father like kids at a playground. They still think Ozzie is the toughest person alive, whereas I'm fairly certain that he's probably weak. He's a little guy.

QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 10:11 PM) If Peavy wants me to like him, he can start by pitching 7+ quality innings. This. I'm not fan of Guillen, as we all know. But Peavy might want to shut the f*** up and contribute something at some point before he runs off at the mouth.

I see that it is narrated by Edward Herrmann, the guy who narrates basically everything on the History channel and is also Richie Rich's dad.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 07:37 PM) Big Bang Theory maybe in the category with Seinfeld and Scrubs that when I see it on in syndication, I always finish an episode. And also, it is still quietly one of my favorite shows on the air and is always quality to me. I only saw it for the first time last week, and I find it pretty funny.

With Kuroda and Pineda to NYY, does EJ for 1-2 years

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 01:35 AM) I'd take EJ back in a heartbeat, though he does work awfully slow. He'd be an innings eater, however, and we need one to replace Mark. Why would you want Jackson? He never played for a White Sox playoff team. -

QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 06:29 PM) In hindsight I think you do have to pin the blame on Ozzie or staff. Kenny put together some winning teams the last 2 years on paper with his moves. He went for it with Jackson and the players tanked it. Although I don't like the Dunn signing because of his limited skill set, 40HR and 100 RBIs from the left side should have made us a force. Everyone had to believe Beckham was going to regain rookie form. I don't blame Kenny for those 2 falling flat on their faces, or Rios quitting, or Peavy throwing his arm off. It all looked good on paper to me, dishing out prospects to win. We should have been in the playoffs the last 2 years. Ozzie didn't get it done, didn't motivate, whatever it was. But you can argue KW gathered s***ty players since they ended up being s***ty. It's interesting. What if everyone was all of a sudden good this year? Some Ozzie-lovers might end up converting. No they wouldn't. They would just say that the players conspired to get Ozzie out of there by playing poorly. -

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 06:12 PM) For f***'s sake, can one of the admins please ban Greg? He seems like a perfectly nice guy, but I simply can't take anymore of his naïveté and ridiculously-biased pro Guillen comments. GREG - KW DIDN'T WIN THE "WAR", OZZIE JUST SURRENDERED LIKE A BIG f***ING p**** Thank you. -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 01:01 PM) How to force a DirecTV update Thank you kindly.

How does one go about getting this update? I have had the same problems as you guys for a while now.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 10:45 AM) I got an email this morning from his SuperPAC announcing that he's handing it over to Stewart. Not sure what he'd have to do with his show, or if he'd even be able to get on the ballot in time. The whole point is to mock Citizens United and SuperPACs, though, so it still works even if he ultimately doesn't run. Did anybody watch it last night? I thought it was brilliant.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 10:34 AM) I dont know if any of you have seen commercials for the new "found footage" movie Chronicle, but I think this might be a sleeper. 3 teenagers acquire superpowers and start to videotape themselves learning how to deal with the power, and one of them goes pretty bad. It looks good now, but "found footage" movies usually look pretty good when you first start to see the previews. Once they release more and more commercials, they often start to look stupid. I want it to be good, though.

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 11:04 AM) I have this gut feeling that the Cubs are going to win it within 3 years. This year they might be competitive and either just miss, or even make the playoffs contrary to the popular consensus (that they're going to be garbage); but 2013 or 2014 will see a Cub WS winner. I kind of like it the way it is right now, and would rather keep it that way- but my gut feelings are usually pretty good. I'll go ahead and guarantee that you're wrong.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 10:36 AM) I watched Dick Tracy last night! bgbyddit bgbyddit I love that part, and when Mumbles straightens his mouth and talks normal. Really, I forgot how much i like that movie I haven't seen it in a while, and now I really want to. That's Dustin Hoffman, right?

Penn State horror story

It just makes me hope that terrible things happen to the former players that are speaking out. -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 09:19 AM) Have you read the books? I find it oddly surprising that you'd seem it strange that people would cheer on Lizbeth Salander. She's a pretty badass character and only gets cooler throughout the series. As for the gratuitous nudity... again, what did you expect? I mean, Fincher wanted to tell the story accurately, and a ton of the "Girl" franchise revolves around lust, sex, and yes rape. Expecting anything else surprises me. I want to see it again in the theater, and will. Hell, the intro with the remix of the "Immigrant Song" is worth the $10 alone. I liked it, but I didn't find it anywhere near good enough to see twice in theaters.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 08:40 AM) Maybe. See, to me, terrorism has to involve inciting terror in the public - it is an attack that is outside "normal" war tactics whose purpose is to incite fear in a larger number of people, like the population of a country or the military of a country. This, to me, fits more with either an act of war (since it has a military and political purpose that is not at all about fear and terror), or possibly even just plain murder. But its all terminology and it doesn't really matter what we call it. I was just saying, if we feel Iran is on the doorstep, I have no problem with Israel or the US using asymetrical tactics like this to achieve the end goal of preventing Iran from having a nuclear weapon. In fact, these sorts of methods have a lot less collateral damage than going in and bombing the place. I have no problem with it either, strangely and possibly hypocritically. It's just an interesting aspect that needs to be considered.

I love what Colbert and Stewart are doing with the Super PAC and South Carolina.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 08:26 AM) OK. And? Sorry, I was just going back to the idea that the Iranian scientist being killed was terrorism.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 08:03 AM) So he's been under bright lights, no sleep, for 12+ hours? All I can think of in this situation is Mumbles from Dick Tracy. Anyone remember?
