  1. There were quite a few of the hits that were infield singles, so that doesn't concern me. The homerun ball is what concerned me. His tendency to give up the long ball has always been his weakest aspect.
  2. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 5, 2005 -> 07:11 PM) I saw this post at the other Sox message board... I myself heard Rooney and Farmer talking about Graffanino but I didn't see the post-game with Melton. Graffanino is earning $1.1 million in the final year of his contract with the Royals this season. Kenny must want a solid backup 3rd baseman. Interesting to say the least. If Ozuna's injury isn't serious (which it doesn't appear to be) than I don't see any reason to do this.
  3. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ May 4, 2005 -> 04:55 PM) As for Paulie, he makes way too much money to bring him back. A one dimensional slow first baseman should not be your highest paid position player. Nothing against Paulie, but that's just the way it is. That money can be spent much more efficiently elsewhere. If Paulie wants to come back at a home-town discount, say $6million per year for three years, go ahead and extend his contract. Otherwise, let him go and use the money for a more complete player(s). I agree. First baseman is probably the deepest position in baseball. With the loss of power this year, we are proving that pitching and defense wins games. I have no problem with not signing him and picking up a cheap quality 1b.
  4. QUOTE(IndySoxFan @ May 4, 2005 -> 12:24 AM) ok, if I remember correctly.... the sox gave this guy a chance. They played him although he was playing terrible. And if I remember right, just as he was getting better, he quit. I dont recall the exact details, but it cheesed me off on this guy. Only my opinion Hello, I'm new. Anyways, Kruk has a .400 OBP that year, so he was far from terrible. With regards to the empty seats, I've always been disappointed by the White Sox attendance. Perhaps I'm just spoiled because I go to school in Madison, WI (great sports town) and Camp Randall and the Kohl Center are always sold out. I just think that a team in a market as large as Chicago that has the best record in baseball would be selling more tickets. I guess the entire AL Central is pretty sad with attendance. The best attendance goes to the team with the worst ballpark (minnesota). I graduate from UW-Madison in 2 weeks, after that I plan on coming down a couple weekends for some games.
