  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 05:13 PM) Ha! The chairman Reinsdorf issues a statement saying Ozzie never quit!! Cowley is tweeting like mad about it. I wish the haters would issue Ozzie a heartfelt apology right now. The chairman told him he HAD to go to Miami by the end of the season. This kills the ammo of some of the haters. Cowley is ripping the haters on Twitter.
  2. Yea, Bane was hard to understand and the quality was terrible, but it is exciting to see nonetheless. I don't think it helped matters that Hardy was doing a German (?) accent - which is weird because Bane is supposed to be from the Caribbean. It was difficult to determine from that clip if Hardy is going to be made to look bigger through camerawork/CGI. What do you guys think?
  3. QUOTE (The Critic @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 04:42 PM) Rumor is Jericho. The dirt sites claim he'll go against Punk at Mania. Color me excited for a war of words between Punk and Jericho! If he comes back, I hope he drops the whole Anton Chigurh persona.
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 09:17 AM) Bane absolutely seems to be in the Batcave... that is no good for Bruce. What is up with Batman's cowl in this picture? His head looks all lumpy.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 05:08 PM) mtv and videogames! Seriously though, how f***ing hard is it to just shut your mouth and at least *seem* somewhat professional? The public whining and crying is so tired. Dwight, Paul, LBJ and on down the line -- why is it that these guys are incapable of buckling down and fighting through adversity? I can understand wanting to abandon a bad situation when you have exhausted all reasonable options to improve said situation, but that isn't happening in these cases. One of the reasons I admired certain athletes growing up is because they persevered and were constantly striving to get better. I feel bad for kids nowadays when so many public figures (that they would otherwise look up to) are complete f***ing dbags.
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 02:24 PM) If Dwight were a man, he'd resign with a team that has treated him exceptionally well. F*ck this generation (save Rose and Durant). This X 100000000 Sometimes, I wonder how so many members of my generation ended up as colossal p*****s with entitlement complexes.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 11:52 AM) http://screenrant.com/dark-knight-rises-pr...e-rothc-142894/ Warner Bros. and Christopher Nolan hosted an early screening of the 6+ minutes of footage from The Dark Knight Rises that will screen in front of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocal in select IMAX theaters yesterday evening in Los Angeles. Nolan introduced the footage, which consisted of the introductory prologue followed by a series of shots from later portions of the film. The director expressed a desire to invite people back into the experience of the grandeur of cinema, something he feels has been “chipped away” in many respects. Nolan hopes that audiences who see the IMAX footage will conclude that it is worth their while to return to experience the film in its entirety on the expansive screens when The Dark Knight Rises opens on July 20th, 2012. A similar campaign was launched in 2007 when an extended sequence from The Dark Knight screened at the head of I Am Legend in select IMAX theaters. Nolan speaks passionately about the format which he calls far and away “the best imagining format” adding that “nothing else can touch it.” A large portion of the film was shot natively on IMAX cameras and the frame is utilized beautifully in the prologue we were shown. Another element that Nolan and Batman fans alike will be thrilled to see is the stunning use of practical effects as opposed to CGI. The director once again shows incredible innovation and vision with an introduction to Bane that legitimately earns the (oft overused) descriptor: epic. The bulk (no pun intended) of the opening focuses on Bane – his depictions of the antagonists in this series have been among the most memorable and fascinating contributions that Nolan has made to the Batman universe. Aside from a slight audio issue (it is a bit of a challenge to make out the dialogue with the obstruction of the mask) that will likely be adjusted by the time of the film’s release, Bane is by all indications a villain worthy of the final installation of this franchise. Tom Hardy is able to electrify a frame with his very presence, his every movement fills the viewer with tension and a chilling sense that no one (not even him) knows what he may do next. He is simply terrifying to watch. The prologue makes use of planes in a way that film lovers will likely be talking about for years to come. It has elements of a heist/spy thriller (as only Nolan would interpret) mirrors the Joker’s robbery scene in The Dark Knight in a thought provoking way and is reminiscent of the ambition of the Joseph Gordon Levitt hallway scene in Inception. Nolan seems to want to play with the idea of masks in these films, hidden aspects of the psyche that apply to both his characters and all of us universally. As the Joker’s mercurial chaos and anarchy came forward in his introduction in The Dark Knight, Bane’s strength of will is present in the opening of The Dark Knight Rises. The footage also revealed a key plot point that ties into “Operation Early Bird” the viral campaign that launches today. We will not go into too much detail here – mainly because we in truth believe that you should take the opportunity to see the footage for yourself if you can make it to one of the participating IMAX theaters beginning December 16th. We will say that there is plenty to chew on for both cinephiles and Batman comic fans. There does seem to be a reference to one of the more beloved comics – a shot at the conclusion of the footage that will excite the imaginations of those who are anxious to see where the director is willing to take these characters with the climax of one of the most popular and influential franchises of our time. ?
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 09:30 AM) At age 38, albert pujols will have $130 million left on this deal. Holy s***.
  9. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 06:35 PM) It can happen. It'll just show the ridiculously low standard the White Sox have when if comes to honoring guys. You may as well erect a statue of me when I go run out onto the field (something I plan on doing soon) when Tampa or Toronto is in town. I would love it if you had a "DON'T TAZE ME, BRO!" moment. It would be way more entertaining than the s***show from this season.
  10. So, I think we all kinda knew that when the Ozzie-KW thing blew up that he would bolt for Florida. I wonder where Ozzie will go after he (inevitably) f***s up his situation in Miami?
  11. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 12:24 AM) http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_...7480277&v=3 You'd think he'd be extra vigilant in the field given the De Aza wakeup call but alas he doesn't seem to give a s***. god dammit
  12. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 12:18 AM) Sucked as usual hitting and let a runner score from 1st on a hit and run single to right center. Did he have a chance to throw the guy out? Or was he pulling the usual jog to the ball, toss it to the cutoff man BS?
  13. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 10:13 PM) Said it in his post game presser After tonight's inexcusable performance AND what KW said publicly just days ago...? This team just insists on killing any kind of momentum. On the field and off. I missed the game tonight, what did Rios do?
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 09:23 PM) Jeez, I thought that was long gone off the bat. Teahen needs steroids immediately haha, this is so true -- it is especially apparent in person -- the ball just DIES about 25 feet from the outfield wall
