He's the hitting coach. You're saying he's NOT responsible for any of the failure? As far as your Hudson example... LOL, what's your point? You could legitimately argue that Walker's direction is that poor. You could also argue no one fitting the description you're mentioning was relevant enough EVER to matter. Like how good were NUMEROUS "hitters" that played here and went elsewhere? I see your point but it doesn't totally hold up. A vast majority of "hitters" on our club were either never good or were simply old. I like how you dodged my point on Cooper, lol. According to your logic Cooper has nothing to do with any success of anyone on our pitching staff.

Total bull. A guy toting assumptions, cop-outs and excuses as an argument is not a person with logic on his side; that is NOT logic. It is, in fact, the very opposite. If the hitting coach is responsible for nothing, then every team may as well cut theirs and free some payroll. So then you willingly admit Cooper is not AT ALL responsible for any success any of our pitchers have had.

*SIGH* So because maybe TWO guys are hitting really well that means the coach should be glorified for that... but the rest of the guys being abysmal should be overlooked? Meanwhile, SO hilarious how a lot of people's SOLE LOGIC for not trying a new coach when things OBVIOUSLY aren't working is, "I don't think it will make a difference." Worst argument ever. And being "liked and well respected" doesn't mean the man is good at his job. And even FURTHER, who is gonna come out and say, "Yeah, our hitting coach sucks" if he thinks so? As far as "People here will want a new one after the new one is here for a while," good job basing your argument on an assumption. And that is irrelevant anyways because a lot of "people here" clamor for a player to be traded/whatever after having one single week of bad play. THIS, however, has been YEARS. I see little to no logic at all in your posts so far, sorry. As someone above said, everyone on the other side is deflecting blame to try to refute it. Utterly silly. GMAFB. Nothing but cop-outs, assumptions and excuses on the other side of this argument. When things don't work, eventually you need to make a change. And regardless of future results, it still doesn't change the fact that at that present time a change needed to be made. But to hell with logic.

I have always laughed my ass off at people who try to say coaches aren't at fault for anything and/or make no difference. It' a cop out and simply makes no sense.

OK, if it's not too late... I came home from work right as the Sox tied it up in the 10th. I need a couple things explained to me in case I'm about to go overboard, jump the gun too quick and go and lynch Ozzie my DAMN self. 1. I noticed Dunn was hitting (early in the lineup if I'm not mistaken) and Paulie was not. Yet Paulie was not playing 1B and neither was Dunn. So either Dunn was the DH or was a PH without Paulie playing. Either of these sound f***ing asinine to me so some please set me straight with what was going on. 2. Did Thornton have to give up a grand slam before Ozzie decided to make a switch? Or was no one else really available in the pen at the time? Again, I don't want to jump the gun.

... I honestly don't think I can take either side in this argument. I don't find either one especially right OR wrong, to be honest. I don't think it's very respectful of AJ to show up Peavy, but maybe AJ is suffering from some of the same frustration many of us as fans are suffering from with Ozzie's boneheaded decisions.

I guess we should all feel blessed this type of stuff has happened seemingly rarely with AJ while he's been with us. But I guess that's just how he is.
