  1. I think it's more accessibility. Keep in mind these guys are coming from an entirely different country that we have an embargo against, its not easy to open up lines of communication between a Cuban prospect and a ML team. If we have a good relationship with Torres, and since we are one of the most Cuban-friendly teams in the MLB I'd think that's the case, we have a much easier time opening up a contract negotiation than other teams. More of a head start than a shorter finish line.
  2. This is kind of ridiculous thing to go over, but assuming Obama has a successful presidency there will be a glutton of Democrats to succeed him. I wouldn't be shocked to see Michelle Obama running for office at some point in her life after Barack's presidency. The Republicans have a real problem with young, energetic people in thier party.
  3. Jindal is too much of a social conservative, I think Charlie Crist is your best bet in 2012.
  4. And his one speech 4 years ago pretty much gave him the opportunity to run for president.
  5. http://joinrudy2012.com/ No. No. No. No. No. No. A thousand No's.
  6. Oh and in some of the most unshocking moves so far David Axelrod has been named a Senior Advisor to Obama
  7. I found the site to be pretty thorough before I got locked out by the tidal wave. I couldn't really poke around though, there is a spot called Jobs and under it says "Apply Now"... I have no idea what that may be.
  8. I think the Democrats will take at least 1 out of the 3 remaining contested seats. There will be some serious shenanigans that go down in Minnesota and the more I read about it the more I have absolutely no clue how the Martin/Chambliss runoff will go. Alaska is a crapshoot.
  9. A black guy was elected president and it fell right in line with the best polling model there is, I cant imagine why somebody would still find the Bradley Effect important anymore. It just does not exist.
  10. I could seriously picture her not knowing who the members of NAFTA are.
  11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWZHTJsR4Bc She. Didnt. Know. Africa. Was. A. Continent.
  12. You want to pick somebody you are close with as Chief of Staff, it wouldn't make sense to do otherwise for that position.
  13. I think it would be awesome to see Bill Richardson as Secretary of State.
  14. The bleeding heart liberalism that's a holdover from the pre-Dean Democratic Party still brings in some votes. It's been largely abandoned by the party though.
  15. I hate Saxby Chambliss, but I cant imagine him losing the runoff.
  16. There is none, its all relative to the President. It only came into existence with FDR, or Wilson... I forget exactly who.
  17. Dimon is kind of a badass from what little I remember. Much better than Summers.
  18. I think it's critical that Obama picks Gates. Bush's presidency died at the hands of Groupthink within his staff.
  19. Maybe for the US Senate, you dont go from Chief of Staff to President.
  20. No No No No... this state needs her and Obama knows that.
  21. What's the latest on Begich/Stevens (I cant believe this is close), Merkley/Smith and Coleman/Franken? I know Franken has pulled ahead and Chambliss/Martin is going to a run off.
  22. These all must be filled. I think I'm missing a few so correct when and where. Confirmed choices are bolded.
