There's that good ole statist brainwashing. Nobody is allowed to be sick and tired of this farce where we get controlled and taxed and generally raped by a government who's essentially criminalized existence with such a staggering amount of laws to follow, regulations to adhere to and permits to apply for that you're basically born with original sin in the eyes of your government. Were all criminals, we all break tons of laws every day, and they know it. The government doesn't try and track down criminals, they just try to uncover whatever draconian, mundane, retarded law we've been breaking then extort us over it. Its just control. Don't buy our healthcare? Here's your penalty for being a human being and making a decision. Have 3 beers and drive? Thanks for the $20,000, oh and if some idiot hits your cold sober ass you get to go to jail too! Do a f***ing drug? (I don't even like drugs to be honest) Get ready for the fury of god to hit you. But you're trained that this all to help you. Its not to regulate your behavior and make you an optimal little worker bee, its for your protection. And anyone who doesn't want to live in a police state is probably just some loony gun but from the mountains. And you do not want to disappoint your masters by being one of them so you keep on being a good little slave.

According to the liberals I didnt build anything. That money I make? Its not my money, its our money. And it doesnt get to be "ours" until its filtered through a pile of private sector washouts. I just want to live one day in pre-Reagan America. Just a day, see what it was like. Ive seen nanny state, big government, "FOR YOUR PROTECTION AND UH.. ERR.. BENEFIT? LOL" America and it bores the s*** out of me. Give me the place where even the most mundane expansion of the state was leading us on the path of our bitter rival. Get rid of all these bulls*** government employees I pay for and just see what happens because this going-on 6 year recession isnt being cured and, worse yet, I cant have any f***in fun.

Let me also take this moment to say f*** James Murphy. Asshole has written like 5 songs I like then surrounded it with a sea of trash. Admittedly 4 of those songs are undeniably amazing and the 5th (Tribulations) is a bad song that I just like anyways. But everyone acts like his s*** doesn't stink. He's a hack! Wake up, its just more disco retread crap like Metric that somehow gets great reviews. No doubt he's responsible for this Arcade Fire calamity, convincing them they hate rock music and that they need to go more disco electronic with a thin veneer of WoRlD bEaTs from Haiti or Zaire or whatever to prove they're cultured or something. I'm upset about this.

The new Arcade Fire is maybe the worst record I have ever listened to without turning off early. I loved everything else they've done so much I kept waiting, maybe the closer would pull me back in because they've got a real good history there (Sprawl II, In the Backseat and My Body is a Cage are all awesome) but it was just more garbage. What happened? They used to be this big booming band that actually played instruments and made these cool rock songs that everyone loved. I mean the lyrics have never been great outside Funeral (and really they're just endearing and charming there) but here what I could actually pick out was just complete garbage. Then the dance-y s***? Wtf its unlistenable crap other than the title track and even that one would be an also-ran compared to Neighborhood #3, No Cars Go and We Used to Wait. Crown of Love is a more fun song than anything on Reflektor, and it spends 3 minutes being all sappy. Where's the ambition here? Its like This Must Be The Band wrote songs trying to sound like The Talking Heads. Its so f***ing bad, like Radiohead has been disappointing for the better part of the last decade but they were a gradual slide not a sudden collapse. Its shocking, and now I don't even want to go to their shows because it'll just be Rebellion, Sprawl II, No Cars Go then every awful piece of s*** they farted out off Reflektor.

Voting is a ridiculous proposition and I'm nearly done bothering with it. But honestly my main gripe with what you're saying is that law of physics that for every action there's some reaction applies to government. Everything you put in trying to "work within the system" just feeds the monster and like those Chinese finger traps just tightens the noose of oppression around your neck. By the way, we are oppressed now. Were spied on constantly, were basically being occupied by police forces that better resemble mechanized infantry than law enforcement and our money is stolen from us in every way possible And, I think I've made this clear before but I'll reiterate, if your paycheck is directly a result of taxpayer dollars and youre not part of a legitimate arm of the government (military, police, judge, fireman) you aren't really a person... you're just the enemy.

The worst is yet to come. The mandate still looms and, oh boy, if you think people are pissed now wait until they start getting 30 hours a week at the mill. The only reason they delayed it is because they wanted us addicted to another big entitlement bomb before revealing the cost. This was supposed to be the fun part and its wound up an absolutely epic disaster, imagine how bad its going to be when the not-fun stuff kicks in. And if you think they're going to make any meaningful changes to the mandate I'd like to remind you these are the same bureaucrats who cannot will their collective brainpower into making a website.

He wasnt shunned at all. He just caught 3 TD passes in a single game.

It means everything. Its pretty simple: Player A and Player B wont exist on the same team. Q1: Are either of these guys in imminent danger of going to jail? If so, cut him. If neither, go to Q2. If both, Welcome to Pro Football. Q2: Which of these two players gives my team, whos having a surprising playoff run, a better chance to win and a better chance for all of us to keep our jobs? Pick that guy and cut the other. Its just Martin is a colossal p**** undoubtedly raised to be a sensitive little b**** who first ran from the team then went to the media selling out everyone. Luckily he'll never play in the NFL again, I have no sympathy for someone like that.

Richie Incognito is obviously a raging rageaholic, but I doubt he was actually going to murder anyone.
-
Yea lost in all this was Aaron Rodgers was going to have been sacked quite a few times. How many sacks did Seneca Wallace scramble away from that Rodgers couldn't have?
-
How? The NFL is a billion dollar business and a vast majority of its employees are entirely dependent on 16 opportunities to prove their value in millions. Millions they're going to need later on when they're eating from a straw. The stakes are ridiculously high, weak links cannot be tolerated and someone's feelings are not important at all. There's no time for political correctness or any of the other symptoms of the pussification of the American general public to creep in. All that matters is the guy you are on the field. Its cutthroat, we the fans demand it be that way. Take a look around the sports world, these crazy analytics and hyper scrunity... this is the culture it creates. Incognito did nothing wrong. He's clearly crazy and definitely an asshole, but in the context of his world he was entirely within bounds. He's the better player, he helps the team more, and that is all that matters.
-
Lost in all this is that Incognito is a much better player than Martin.

Pretty much. And I will say theres a cost to this. I had a load, right when I just started, of nursery plants from Washington to Virginia (3000 miles). I did the trip in 6 days, about 4 hours early for my appointment. So I crack the seal and start unloading (I get paid extra to help unload so I always try to if I can) and a good third of the plants are dead. I was new, I thought I screwed up with my reefer and put in a damaged freight claim. Turns out this is pretty common, so common its not insured, its just factored in by the nurseries. Now I could do that trip in 4 days without getting fatigued. Im not into botany but I figure a lot fewer of those plants die if they get out that trailer 48 hours sooner. This happens with food too. Basically anything perishable, the trains cant do it fast enough (it takes them a few days just geting through Chicago) and while I can physically do it without being reckless its illegal.

A lot of those runs dont even require guys to keep logs, they can drive as much as they want within 100 air miles of their starting spot. No having to keep logs = no hours of service regs. So yea, theyre more than loose... they barely even exist, But thats the point, DOT has pretty much established that they want to kill off nearly all long haul trucking and at the very least put an end to independent operators. They basically want trucks going from intermodal yard to distribution center then from distribution center to store and/or customer. The market still likes trucking, its flexible, its fast, it minimizes warehousing needs and its generally just as reliable as rail. Hence, HOS.

My fear is that McCown lays an egg early and were behind early in a game we really have to win (Lions don't play anyone the rest of the season) with a backup QB who is already struggling and have zero chance of coming back to win. We really have to beat Detroit, and I don't think its possible to dress Cutler but start McCown.
-
I don't pay bills. Well, alright I give Verizon $187 a month and I still pay insurance for my car, but I live in the truck. So yea, I save it all which I think is worth the long hours. Besides, I love this job so much I'd almost do it for free.

I know, thats one of the things that bothers me when I wonder why liberals didnt just move instead of having to stay here and ruin America.
-
Im referring to Balta's use of "their" instead of "our", a freudian slip that really speaks volumes about how statist his philosophy is.
-
Except a competing private conpany, in a perfect world without state endorsed oligopolies, will keep them honest by offering identical services at lower prices. Government just tells us how much something costs then forces us at gunpoint to buy it.
-
So much for government by and for the people. Im resigned to the fact that were seen as mere subjects by our rulers, Im always surprised though when people are proud of that dynamic.
-
I dont go to jail if I refuse to give a private company my money.
-
Yea irresponsible assholes drive until they are exhausted beyond the clutches of No-Doz and caffeine. Guess what? They still do. They ignore the rules because they are irresponsible. Its everyone else, the same guys who could drive more but don't because its against the rules tend to be the same ones who know better than to drive at the brink of passing out, they get hurt by this. But yea, this is my America. There are more rules to break than there are ways of complying. Thanks liberals.

Unless the road is closed due to an accident I never sit in traffic. Seriously, like never. I squeeze through Los Angeles, Atlanta and Chiago without going below 40, its about timing. My truck is governed to 61, so 120 miles in 2 hours is me going full bore. Also, I dont think anyone other than myself is qualified to say when I've had enough. You might b**** to your supervisor if you go 4 hours over 40 for the week, I b**** if I laid over for more than a couple hours. People are different, stupid universal rules that govern MY ENTIRE LIFE are way too blunt to contend with something thats pretty nuanced.
-
Well for one, I cannot fathom a single road improvement that could shave 2 hours off an 11 hour day. Im not making up 120 miles because the road is in great shape. And two, the HOS regs prevent me from working. 70 hours in 8 days is pathetic, I spend more time sleeping than working.
