  1. The A's are subject to the disadvantage of playing in a real division. The White Sox are kind of lucky in that regard. Plus their payroll has been like half ours up until very recently and !shock! they put together a hell of a season.
  2. A's rob everyone else and are probably laughing about it.
  3. I think Angel Villalona is out of jail for murdering that dude... he was a phenom back when
  4. Compare with with other teams with 81 home games and were still kinda high, not as high as we used to be, but still high.
  5. I'm bad at math. I think the price is going to be $700 and that was a typo or bad grammar. http://www.chicagobusiness.com/article/201...-prices-in-2013 4 bleachers for $2800 season, 2800/4 = 700.
  6. I was thinking about season tickets but at last year's prices I would have to be in the 500's and I'm not honestly willing to shell out a big chunk of cash to be quarantined in the upper atmosphere. But $730 bleachers? The Sox may have just lowered into my price range with a product I like. This is going to attract a ton of young fans with s***ty jobs and college kids home for the summer ($7 upper reserved is dirt cheap). Love this, great news.
  7. They could just use a larger convention hall, keep the tickets the same price, and up their total capacity. But no, they stay were they've been and just let the prices stay stupidly high.
  8. "Weekend passes only are available for purchase by fans who book the two night stay" Aggravating.
  9. You have to imagine there's some unspoken agreement that if Obama wont talk about Mass. too much Romney wont talk about Chicago. I've been wondering the same thing from both of them. Chicago's an embarrassment to the western world right now and Romney just lets it slide.
  10. A moderator does not exist to tell people whats correct and whats incorrect.
  11. I'm glad we had a debate just to see what was on the mind of Jews. That was a farce.
  12. He was inactive for the past 2 games and SHOCKINGLY the OL held up. Good riddance, addition by subtraction.
  13. The Sox are not leaving 35th. The city and state like them where they are and they control any new stadium the White Sox may get.
  14. How much does a team make from a fan "just watching on TV" vs. buying a ticket and going to the game? I'm guessing the difference is quite a bit smaller than you'd think it be, even for a team like the White Sox.
  15. I like how Jeter is literally writing in pain on the ground and the TBS commentators are saying "Oh, he's fine". Like wtf.
  16. The problem Chicago has is that the people who sympathize with the gangs (it still blows my mind that people like this exist) and the people who profit off them make up more than 50% of the cities population. So, nothing will ever get done, the cops will have to keep using kid gloves and the liberals will cherish the wonderful diversity that is literally tearing the city to pieces. It really is only going to get easier on the gangs as time goes on and we find all sorts of things to blame while overlooking the real problem: this city has been f***ed, is currently f***ed and will continue to get more f***ed because we've continued to believe that in order to unf*** it we just have to do more of the f***ed policies than got us so f***ed in the first f***ing place.
  17. I love seeing this happen to Valverde. f*** him.
  18. The Yankees are eating all or damn almost all of his salary and we are giving them Quintana and nothing else. Anything else and just say no.
  19. HOW CAN YOU NOT BE ENTERTAINED BY THIS CARDINALS TEAM?! ANSWER ME That's one of the best comeback's ever. E-V-E-R. I'm bummed the A's and O's didnt make it too, s*** I wanted to see the Reds.... but come on, the Cardinals are just awesome to watch.
  20. Making games harder to get to is not going to help attendance. Chicagoland all flows to the middle. Metra, the L, the highways... all roads lead to the city. Take that away and you're 1) forcing people to drive and pay ridiculous amounts of parking no matter what and 2) pissing off a lot of the fanbase. If they want to build a fanbase you slice prices in half, trim the hell out of that payroll and make the Sox the lean, cheap "Let's go to a ballgame and not go broke" option. Were in an awful division that doesn't spend money, especially when Ilitch dies.
