  1. People forget all the time that the Cardinals are the best run org in baseball. I'd take them over any team in the league. That team s***s success.
  2. I'll probably blog it and yea, 2013. Some minor league schedules are out yet, some arent. Its bizarre, like for Norfolk I had to look at every other IL team because Norfolk was the only one who didnt post theirs. Eventually I found that Toledo was at Norfolk the date I was looking for.
  3. 4/13 - ****DEPART CHICAGO**** 4/14 - Busch Stadium (Brewers @ Cardinals) 4/15 - Great American Ball Park (Phillies @ Reds) 4/16 - Huntington Park (Bats @ Clippers) 4/17 - PNC Park (Cardinals @ Pirates) 4/18 - Yankee Stadium (D-backs @ Yankees) 4/19 - Citi Field (Nationals @ Mets) 4/20 - OPEN (Brooklyn Cycloes? This is all tentative for now.
  4. I've heard from some people that the gangs have moles in the CPD kinda like the The Departed but not as blatant. Kids they keep out of trouble then get them in the force to mess with investigations, tip them off, get-of-jail-free cards etc. Confirm/deny?
  5. Sale clearly has the best stuff on the staff. He struck out 15 Yankees on less than 110 pitches, THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. Read the quotes form guys who had to face him, Josh Willingham (who doesn't suck) said he was basically unhittable and dreads facing him. When it comes to White Sox pitchers there's Chris Sale, a huge gap, then the other guys.
  6. Lew Ford is in the game right now for the Orioles. He still sends chills down my spine.
  7. Agentspeak to the media really shouldnt be taken too seriously.
  8. If we can get the kind of bargains we got on Buehrle and Danks there's absolutely no reason to let Peavy walk. This is fantastic news.
  9. People are underrating a 23 year old lefty with a 3.75 ERA, 130 IP and who stays under team control for quite a while before you have to start paying him. Quintana has real value, not Chris Sale-like value, but still good. If we got John Danks for Brandon McCarthy we can score something pretty for Jose Quintana
  10. Then you pick up his option and trade.him. $9.5 mil for Gavin Floyd will find a suitor and we at least get SOMETHING back.
  11. We have the trade pieces. Quintana + change could easily get it done if the Mets are convinced Wright is leaving after 2013. They'll undoubtedly pick up the option before moving him, so we'll have to make room for $16 million.
  12. Haha no. I still dont think we bring him back.
  13. Come on, last game of the season and we dont get a WINNER thread?
  14. Our payroll will be closer to $150 million.
  15. I just kinda farted out the details of the lineup, rotation and pen. Did not even realize. As for the $$$, Wright is obviously going to add some bucks to the salary, especially when you're opening up a rotation spot and leaving some holes in the bullpen. Even then this teams payroll isn't much more than what your OP calls for since I am factoring in preArb salaries. You've also got a ton of money freeing up in 2014 which could mean extension for Wright or any number of things. The format hopefully makes it easier for me to put it to Soxtalk to find ways of slicing some salary that I didn't see.

  17. What the Bears' defense has lost in athleticism it's obviously gained in veteran leadership and experience. The Big 4: Peppers, Urlacher, Tillman and Briggs are just one step ahead all the time. All those guys are well into their 30's and (aside from Urlacher) still look like they're in the prime of their careers.
  18. Forte or Bush needs 18 points for me. 19 to win. Its a PPR league and I'm leaning Forte.
  19. If I wanted to live in a incredibly dangerous war torn hellhole I'd enlist in the army and get paid. I'd even have a better chance of surviving Afghanistan than Englewood.
  20. Saw your Sox-o-Gram at the game last night. Congratulations, did you pay for that or did the team put it up there?
