  1. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 01:12 PM) Deal I will take it. Throw in washed up mascots, Ribby and Rhubarb......and you'll get a Natty Light to go with the ham sandwich and chips
  2. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 01:11 PM) Add a bag of chips and you got a deal! If you're requiring the chips, you only get half a ham sandwich
  3. Great at bat by Rios! He really seems to be turning things around!
  4. Does his contract stipulate that he has to play baseball in order to earn his paycheck? Or could we reassign him as a hot dog vendor for the Sox? After about 3 innings of doing this, I'm sure he'd catch enough grief to announce his resignation!
  5. Got a feeling ozzie gonna be on the twitter after this one
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 07:30 PM) He ought to literally have to walk out of CF to the bench. If you highlight the situation, I think your chances of trading him are nil
  7. This doesn't surprise me at all....I've been saying all day that Kenny was likely working hard to move Rios and it appears that the Brewers are the targets. If this happens, there are a lot of people on this board who stand to eat some crow based upon comments earlier today.
  8. If the Mariners hadn't of cut Milton Bradley earlier in the year, that could have been your deal for Rios. It's a player in a situation like Soriano or where Bradley was earlier in the year that I expect a deal to happen for at some point. It's two teams just moving dead weight. Balance out the dollars and see if the change of scenery does anything for either player.
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 03:03 PM) Dude, there's no f***ing way. He's harder to deal than Alfonso Soriano. That could be your deal. Before the Sox just eat the contract, I think they'll trade him for another underperforming, overpaid player elsewhere in the league. You might as well take a chance and see if a change of scenery for someone can make a difference before eating all that money. Similar to what the Sox did in the Borchard for Thornton trade....just on a larger scale.
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 03:01 PM) Are you an alcoholic? Nope....is that a prerequisite to post on this board?
  11. I still think you may see Rios traded before the end of the season
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 02:47 PM) Plus one of these days Dunn will start hitting again Also, by having Dunn bat with runners on first and second, you took the shift out of the equation. It gave him a much greater chance to succeed in that at bat.
  13. QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 11:47 AM) Not sure what the market is for underperforming overpaid slackers these days. Rasmus just brought EJax and a couple of relievers.
  14. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 11:43 AM) So you guys don't think Rios will get traded than? I think there's a shot. We'll likely have to eat at least a million per season in salary, but I think Kenny would be open to all offers
  15. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 11:36 AM) So who gets moved for Miller? That would put us at 26 on the 25 right? Rios getting traded?
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 11:09 AM) So Toronto got Rasmus for Frasor, Stewart, Patterson, Dotel and Rzepczynski Hell of a deal by AA And they also had to pay $10 million (money owed to Teahen and he will never contribute to that team)
  17. Having a former Saluki join the Sox is never a bad thing!
  18. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 11:42 AM) Ozzie says he will find a way to get Rios and De Aza in the linup....wow Ozzie just needs to go away He may not have a choice of Kenny trades Rios in the upcoming days
  19. Any word on moves the Indians and Tigers might be working on to counter this?
  20. This frees up enough funds we can go after Pujols in the offseason!
  21. This news adds to our bench as well.....now Rios is available as a pinch hitter and defensive substitution.
  22. No tweets from ESPY_Teahen yet? Wonder if the dog is staying in Chicago?
  23. Excluding two plays, this has been a real solid game defensively for the Sox.
