With the way Freddy has pitched this year, its debatable if he's left out of the rotation come playoff time. I know they'll likely go to a four man rotation.....but I'm just not sure that Mr Garcia is the odd man out.

I don't see a deal for Zambrano this season.....where would he pitch? I don't think he'd want to be coming out of the pen and there's just no room in the rotation (I wouldn't have never guessed that I'd take Freddy over Z before the season started). Plus, you can't trade Pierre without getting another leadoff hitter (either in return or in another trade). Whether you like him or not, we have no one else for that spot in the order at this time. If we make a trade now, it has to be for a DH, a LH reliever, or a strong lead off hitter.....not a starting pitcher.

In it's article on the Zambrano suspension, the following statement is made..... They are making this thing out to be bigger than the Stanley Cup.....and for most Chicago sports fans, I think they could care less about the trophy. If they were being sarcastic, so be.....but read the article and judge for yourself. The statement doesn't appear to be made in a sarcastic nature. When I started this thread, I was hoping to be 5 games back by the end of the month. Now, I'll be pissed if we are 5 games back at the end of the month! First place or bust!

Bobby pitched like an all star once again this evening....it really will be a shame if he's excluded from the All Star game.

When I made this original post a week ago, I may have underestimated. If we can take 2 out of 3 against the Braves (and I think a sweep is possible), we should be able to end the month 3-5 games above .500. Twins have got to be scared as we are right in their rear view mirror now!

Although I don't think his chances are as good as Rios, Paulie, or Jenks.....if Freddy can get 2 more wins before the All Star game, he's a maybe as well. Tough not to take a pitcher with double digits wins at the break.

Any of the cynics ready to start giving Kenny some credit yet? We just beat the Phenom and continued the winning streak! Kenny and Ozzie have done a wonderful job of being patient just waiting for this team to explode....and they are doing just that right now!
