It appears that a full trade clause is indeed one of the largest concessions being sought.....

Levine just stated on ESPNNews that Peavy wants the limited no trade clause extended through the contract in addition to guaranteeing the final year (and possibly turned into a full no trade clause).

Obama's a Sox fan....can't he just give the team a $22 miilion bailout to get this deal done??

Remember....there's a $4 million buyout there as it currently stands.....so it would only be guaranteeing an additional $18 million (still not a bad salary for a true ace in todays game)

I think the Sox had to see this coming.....its a common request when players waive a NTC. If we aren't prepared to guarantee that final year, I don't think discussions would even have begun. To me, this news is encouraging.

We need to show a couple hot chicks at the game (wearing skimpy outfits) that are holding a sign which reads "free BJ's for guys named Peavy" (just make sure Jake's wife isn't watching the game with him)

I want this done now....but I understand how he's taking some time to think about it. He's considering where he's going to live (and work) for the next several years. I just relocated at the beginning of the year and it took me nearly two weeks to make the decision and accept the offer. Lets hope it doesn't take that long....but if he really looks at all the good benefits of being a White Sox, I think he'll make the right decision in a day or two.
