"Sir, why are you hiding in these people's closet" "Hiding? I was sleeping here and they just built the house around me!) Saving Silverman Happy, Texas? Safe Men Blowin Smoke (AKA the Steve Zahn essentials)
  2. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 01:56 PM) They argue that the only reason why he caught that ball was because he was an employee of the Red Sox. Couldn't he argue that it is because he was a member of the Red Sox that he was a reason why they were in that position? Wouldnt this come down to ownership rights within the ballpark though? The game was played in St Louis, i dont really see how the Red Sox could claim any sort of ownership on the ball really.
  3. Would the final out baseball be worth all of this trouble? http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/base...ex.html?cnn=yes I honestly dont think Reinsdorf would make this big of a deal out of the final out. I really think that he was happy to win it all, and the ball was just icing on the cake. Mods please delete if this topic has been posted already
  4. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 12:30 PM) He will not get 7.5 in arbitration, Bruce pulled that number out of his ass. I refuse to believe that
  5. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 10:44 AM) (Paul Byrd) also kind of looks like a vulcan. this makes sense. if spock were a pitcher, i could see him throwing junk. I dont know why this struck me as funny, But I cant stop laughing at it. I think Scotty must have a 12 to 6 curveball
  6. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 10:44 AM) THis couldn't mean the end of Crede can it? Is his back really that bad? He was awesome in the playoffs. Will Mueller accept an INF bench role? And I DONT want Nomar here. No way- no how! I'm going to pull a Hawk and say "Where would he play?" Don't even say CF! I'm telling you- he is a clubhouse cancer. Mueller would have to completely outperform Crede to take his job from him, IMO. I think Joe's back will be ok next year. if the Sox dont get him on some kind of muscle building program for his back in the offseason, they are insane. Mueller would have to accept a super-sub role. He is a team player though, I think he would go for it. IMO Ryan Freel would be the ideal guy to go after.
  7. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 10:42 AM) Nomar and Bill kind of sound alike, no? /looks for mooning smily smartass
  8. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 10:39 AM) There was no mention of Nomar when he was on. I was referring to the last couple of weeks. I didnt get to hear Bruce just now. Did he really get angry? Were Carmen and Silvy giving him a hard time again? They always play "Here they come Here they come....manny trillo" when he is on.
  9. Bruce has been saying that the Sox have been looking at Nomar for a couple of weeks. Maybe he is trying to make it a reality because he is afraid the Trib company is going to try and resign Nomar soon.
  10. Im pretty curious about what the cubs will do if Furcal remains with the Braves or signs with the Dodgers. I am thinking it has to be a trade in the works. Maybe the Walker/Murton/Cedeno for Soriano/Mench is still in the works, but they still leave themselves without a proven shortstop. Veddy Veddy Eentedesting.

  12. QUOTE(KeithFranklin @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 09:54 PM) Who proofed that poll. Hasnt Howry and Wagner already signed elsewhere? Actually, Howry, Wagner AND BJ Ryan are mentioned as pursuables. Whoever made this poll is a moron.
  13. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 02:09 PM) Dude, you're the one who took the pictures LMAO, doesnt sound like you resisted much if you both have copies
  14. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) KAP, this is the prince of persia you want...definately in my all time top 5, and I have been playing the X since it came out...and I play a lot...that's what happens with a long term girlfriend. Prince of Persia The forward-time and reverse-time function on the sword are absolutely pimp. I never got to finish the game because I rented it, but I really loved playing it. I didnt realize that the new PoP game was the third sequel, I thought it was only the second. Shows how up to date I am
  15. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 02:02 PM) I would've thought KW would have some loyalty toward Big Frank. Seeing him in another uniform will be disgusting. I think Kenny knows not to let Loyalty get in the way of winning.
  16. I am a Nintendo guy, but all of my friends have PS2 so I have played some pretty fun games. If you like adventure games, you could try "Prince of Persia", really cool game. The sequel comes out soon. I really liked "Gladiator" which is sort of a role playing game/conquest game rolled into one. You basically start as a scrub fighter and move your way up, and there is another facet to the game in which you wage wars. Sports, well you know what you like and what you want. For some comic-book type games you could check out Viewtiful Joe 2, which has a strange yet appealing gameplay. For lack of a better explanation, the game goes from 2-D to 3-D throughout the game. If you want something that will scare the s*** out of you, try Fatal Frame.
  17. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 12:11 PM) I'm like so three years ago, but I finally got off my ass and bought a playstation2. So what's the best games to get? My gosh there's so many. And I have the online dealie... so give me a couple of days to get up to speed... and then who'd like to get their ass kicked at what? Depends on your personal flavor. Sports? RPG? FPS? Puzzle?
  18. QUOTE(sec159row2 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 10:56 AM) he had surgery.. came back looking "puffy" and they soon let him go elsewhere... He was "in" with foulke.. which probably meant he was "out" with management.. Came back looking "puffy"? What does that mean?
  19. He has been talking s*** about the Sox fans since he left town.
  20. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 10:00 AM) Didnt the Baltimore Sun report it? Yep, citing a "high ranking White Sox official". So the leak would be the White Sox, if it actually is considered a leak since the info was already out there.

    The Bad Music Thread

Hmm, The Darkness really rocks as a RnR band, but thier lead singers voice is just too much sometimes. I get alot of razz about being a Blink 182 fan, but those guys are hilarious, and so is their music. Especially their live cd, there are 20 tracks at the end of them talking to the audience. Priceless immaturity. Liz Phair(not live!) LOL, Gin Blossoms.
  22. QUOTE(Frank the Tank 35 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 01:31 AM) If you're talking about precluding the Thome deal, it's possible. We don't have a pitcher like Pavano to give up. Like I said, all of our starting 5 next year will be better value than Pavano. However, everybody else in the organization falls below him even with his massive contract. Considering we filled one of the Phils' needs with Rowand, I think the same deal plus Fields would have netted Abreu (of course this is all contingent on the Yanks deal actually working). Duncan's not all that spectacular anyway, he just happens to be a dim glimmer in an otherwise dark abyss of the Yanks minor league system. Granted he is only 20, but he only hit .235 last year with 19 homers and 61 RBI in AA (451 ABs). In contrast, the 22 year old Fields hit .252 with 16 homers and 79 RBI at AA (477 ABs). Anyway, the more I look at it, the more this rumors smells like crap. The whole Posada-Lieberthal thing doesn't make any sense. The Phils are getting screwed unless the Yanks are throwing bags of $$$ at them. They need someone to immediately step up at 3B, not 2-3 years down the road. I think coming up with a trade that the Sox could have made for Abreu is pretty much a trick proposition. I dont think the Phils would be entertaining this offer at all without getting Jim Thome moved first.
  23. Did anyone see when Steve Francis got nailed in the head with one of Nocioni's elbows(one of many thrown by both teams, unintentional and intentional), and he turned to the ref and told him "Im gonna get that guy back". Tom Dore and Red Kerr caught it on the replay, and I couldnt believe the ref let it slide.
  24. QUOTE(3E8 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 12:36 AM) I have no idea what you are talking about. Plug in your iPod, go to my computer, drag and drop files into the iPod hard drive. Useful for transferring movies from one computer to another, making a backup, whatev. You can just take files off of your Ipod and transfer them onto your computer? Maybe we arent talking about the same thing, but my Ipod prevents me from taking anything and transferring it to my computer, hence the need for the program Copypod, which lets me "rip" files from my Ipod and transfer them to my computer.
  25. Isnt an arthritic hip what prematurely ended Albert Belle's career? I hope this isnt the same condition
