  1. QUOTE(kevin57 @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 11:10 PM) Rowand was definitely the one who gave a "creepy rant." What the hell is a "creepy rant"? Creepy rant = Rowand telling Couch to STFU.
  2. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines Ok, two columnists have acknowledged it. I no longer think we have excessively b****ed about it.
  3. Wow, I know exactly what Couch is talking about. Bruce Levine was talking about this just the other day. Levine said he was talking to Aaron Rowand when Couch came over to him and started asking him some questions, when Rowand turned on him and said basically "I have been reading your articles all year ripping on us, and I want you to know that we dont appreciate it. Throughout the whole year, you didnt need us, you didnt need our quotes, and now you do?" Levine said that Couch sat there and took it, and that Rowand went on for about 15 minutes. This was on Thursday morning, Carmen and Silvy were talking about Mariotti and asking about his Thursday column in which he mentioned "amateur media critics in the locker room", and this is what he was talking about. It was really funny, Levine hates Couch, so he was like "I cant believe he ran and tattled to Mariotti. Why doesnt Couch try and write his own columns?" Mariotti this morning is inferring that the Sox need to play the Yankees because if they do, that means they will be playing a very tired out team, its the winning script as he puts it.
  4. I thought Uribe was represented by Boras also?
  5. i remember the Sox facing this guy this year. I thought he had filthy stuff. I am very surprised Stoneman let him go IIRC, Turnbow was released because of arm problems and we all know that Jenks was released due to arm and personal problems.
  6. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) The ball curved right around the pole. Just as people here can say AJ stepping on Boone wasn't intentional, I could just as easily say he was adjusting his gloves because he thought it was going foul. People just seem to overanalyze stuff like this. The glove removing at-bat was when he hit his homerun to left, IIRC. There was no doubt that was going to be fair.
  7. LOL. I just realized I could do a "dips*** montage" with John Donovans articles on SI.com from last week too.
  8. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 10:01 AM) And to the chat crew, it's been a great season and thank you for letting me become the people's admin.... When did this happen? Why wasnt I present at this vote? Boooooooo!
  9. I found this sequence of articles from local cub fan-turned-ESPN reporter Gene Wojciechowski (could you have any more vowels in your name?) pretty amusing Oct 1 - he doesnt even acknowledge the possibility that the Yanks and Bosox will not make the ALCS http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/sto...gene&id=2177605 Oct 2 - Priceless quote "He'll be on the Fenway mound for Saturday's game against the White Sox. Game 4 of the AL Divisional Series. " http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/sto...gene&id=2179207 Oct 5 - Title of the article "South Side blowout no reason to break out brooms" http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/sto...gene&id=2181188 Oct 8 - Acknowledgement, but the article was pretty much about how the Red Sox lost, more than about how the White Sox won. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/sto...gene&id=2183947 what a tool.

    Hey hey

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 09:37 AM) Did anyone catch Suttcliffe when Duque was warming up? He said: "yeah, El Duque is probably just getting some work on the side, because he is NOT a reliever. I heard that. I laughed to myself when Duque came in.
  11. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 08:37 AM) Yes he did. And Larry Brown said he isn't in very good shape, but thinks he will be eventually. Larry Brown is going to be wishing he never left Detroit by December. What, you dont think all of the Knicks streetballah's are gonna work out together.
  12. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 12:30 AM) Berman's Boston connection really didn't show whatsoever in this series. He just, as mentioned earlier in this thread, didn't do his homework on the White Sox very well. Sorry man, I know you are stinging right now, but you are wrong.
  13. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 12:17 AM) Exactly. What a classless thread. Why is that? Berman was openly rooting for the Red Sox, thats pretty s***ty on a national telecast. This is where you are supposed to vent. And it isnt as if we are the only people that noticed. Above this post is a small sample of Bermans quotes in Ed Shermans article. The only thing classless was Berman. And this is coming from someone who really used to enjoy Berman.
  14. How awesome was it that the White Sox got their insurance run the same way that they were knocked out in 2000? I thought that was a brilliant call by Ozzie. Gutsy, and it knocked the wind right out of their sails.
  15. QUOTE(bmags @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 07:30 PM) I have to say Ozzie managed this series f***ing brilliantly* *cept fer marte He gave Damaso the chance to do his job(you know, that whole getting lefties out thing), and Damaso s*** the bed. Now Ozzie has to know that Cotts is his man in that situation. Damaso proved it to him.
  16. I owe El Duque a tremendous apology. I owe Damaso a tremendous kick in the taint. But I am so happy now, I will forgive Damaso until the next series starts. f***ING GO SOX!!!!
  17. QUOTE(mkalk @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) Fly out. Rowand to third. Shut the f*** up, Berman! What did he say
  18. Berman kept saying the other night that this guy is thier Kerry Wood. I thought he was good when I saw him relieve, but come on. This guy doesnt have near the arm Wood did when he came up.
  19. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 04:26 PM) WTF is your problem? Im really starting to hate this board. I thought one of the rules was to treat everybody with respect even if you disagree with somebody.
  20. QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 04:37 PM) But he and Frank are friends. He should be forgiven. I forgot about that. That must mean that Frank is cool with the past use of steroids then. Wait a second, wouldnt that contradict his statement to congress?
  21. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 04:24 PM) she said there wouldn't be a link. Well she was wrong. Look get over it. It was in 2000. My god. Give credit to Giambi for having a great year and move on. If somebody on the sox got caught using steroids than you would be so quick to defend him. Stop while you are behind. I will not credit any cheater.
  22. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 04:18 PM) If he fails this physical you have to assume it's because of his heart. This just in.....
