He has been incredibly patient at the plate for the past month and a half, but you can tell he is getting away from his timing leg kick. he is starting to become susceptible to the low and outside breaking balls again. Fortunately there arent enough games left in the season for him to go into a prolonged slump

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 09:45 PM) I saw part of the Prime Time piece and I think they'll grow out of it. Kids do a lot of stupid s***. This might sound weird, but if you're going to be a racist, be openly racist. In other words, some racists join the KKK and move to the mountains in all white communities and march and wear hoods and spew hate, etc. Other racists live in big cities, in racially mixed neighborhoods and talk to you at work and smile in your face on the train. Who is a bigger threat, the clown in a hood marching in the mountains, or say, the all white upper management team at your job who tell ni**er jokes on the golf course? I would tend to agree with you if their mother didnt play such an important role in the brainwashing of these two girls. The mother has propoganda on the left and right of these girls at all times, and home-schools them to boot. The first time that these girls have to deal with an actual situation with people of different races should be very tense and confusing for those girls.

Actually, im curious about this Mariotti quote Anyone pick up on this in any other publications? I wonder who these guys were?

I dont think Garner is a bum for fighting for his team and showing his emotions. It wasnt as if he just arbitrarily threw a chair, there was a reason for it. Honestly, i didnt see anything that Garner did last night that would fall under the "classless" category. He held himself and his team responsible for the loss, he didnt snap on the media, and he talked about what they needed to do to win after the game was over.

QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:54 AM) Yeah, I still don't know what they were arguing about. Than all of a sudden, Bruce hangs up. Actually it was better than that. Bruce said "If you dont want me here, I can leave" And Dolgin said "See ya" *click* It was priceless. bruce really sounded like he was trying to bigtime Dolgin for some reason or another, and Dolgin had enough of it. I thought it was great

That article has to be from The Onion.

She has actually been doing it all year. To her credit, she has been on the cubs reader comment boards for every game too. But she has been on every White Sox reader board all year trolling and pretty much making cheering for the Sox annoying and impossible. She never posts on the messageboard though. She only posts on the reader comment board, because there is a 300 word limit, and retaliation is really worthless on that board, because it refreshes only when an entire page fills up. Definitely a troll though.

QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 03:25 PM) The family told it with smiles on their faces. The print media is making it sound like they are blaming the Sox. Didn't say anything about doing the interview, which I agree is stupid.. I was specific about how the story is being told. The story is pathetic. It may have been told tongue in cheek by the family, but that article basically says this woman died because the Sox are going to the world series. I dont remember any tripe like that coming out in 2003 in the reverse direction. Sure the media is pathetic to paint it that way, if the family didnt intend it to sound the way it does. But still, this is a story that didnt need to be told to anyone for any reason. Im sure there were plenty of elderly cubs fans who have passed away in the past 2 weeks, and none of their families went to the papers with it.

thats really pathetic. And it shows how unbelievably petty some cubs fans are.

How is this for Cubs messageboard humor Apparently the Tribune Company fell into an extra 60 million dollars this off-season

QUOTE(WinningUgly85 @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:48 AM) You know I got sick of the fox broadcasters so I muted my television and turned on my reciever/surround sound system to ESPN 1000 and listened to Jon Rooney and Ed Farmer give the play by play. To my surprise there was no delay really and it seemed to be timed perfectly. I don't know how it will work now since they are playing in Houston. But it was cool hearing Hawk in the radio both during the 7th inning. Hawk was at Game 2? I thought he said he was staying in Fla?

this will probably end up being the least used thread, lol

QUOTE(Y2HH @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:24 AM) Macho played with the Cardinals minor league system, not the Cubs. Hmm, i was told it was reds and cubs.

I love how the doctor and husband are standing next to the mother with their hands up while the kid pulls himself out. That must be one of the super-race kids that Hitler wanted so bad. The kid birthed himself.

Hasnt BlackJack said more than once that he will NOT become an announcer because he enjoys what he is doing in life right now? And this isnt to say I dont want him in the booth. Quite the contrary. i thought he was fantastic in Hawks absence this past season. I just dont think its happening.
-
You know, Macho Man was a minor leaguer for the Cubs at one time(true story). Now it makes sense why Hulk and Macho fueded so much......

Is there any articles or websites that anyone knows of that have a detailed description of the upgrading of the Cell since they began construction? I havent been there since everything started, so I was looking for something with pictures. I know there is alot to it.

I think this team deserves another shot at a world title if they manage to pull it off this year. The people that need to be re-signed are pretty much no-brainers if you ask me. AJ Garland(if he could be signed to a similar contract that Buehlre got) Konerko Thomas (incentive laden contract, of course) I hope Reinsdorf will let these guys continue to win together.

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 12:20 PM) That sounds great but you can't stay pact while Indians/Tigers/Twins go out and make themselves better. I think what you mean is stand pat. And i have to wonder why the Sox cant afford to stand pat with a team that is currently up 2-0 in the WS and just won the AL Pennant. The pitching will be back, and probably even better with the full year addition of Brandon McCarthy into the rotation. What sort of move outside of re-signing Konerko would this team have to make?

I saw this special. I feel really bad for those girls. they were dancing a jig around a swastika painted on their floor, it was so surreal. The interviewer asked the girls what they thought of hitler, and they had an axchange that went like this Twins "I think that Hitler was really a misunderstood guy..." Interviewer "Misunderstood?!?! Do you understand that he arranged the murder of over 6 million jews?" Twins " Well, I dont even really believe that there were that many Jews around back then anyways." The show went to show the video game that these girls play, which involved the "hero" of the game being a Klansman shooting as many different races and ethnic groups as possible to "save" the white people. At the end of the show, the Mom and Twins were moving to the Pacific Northwest to try and find a completely white community. It was really sick.

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 09:51 AM) The conditions were really bad last night. But both teams had to play in it... this is true

QUOTE(Wedge @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 09:45 AM) I don't know if it happened or not, but Dye should have gotten an earful after that play. The extra base given up basically lead to the tying run scoring. The ball must have been coming off of the grass extremely heavy and wet last night, because Pods and Dye both had problems picking up the ball in those shots to the corner.
