  1. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 08:01 AM) Where is Wayne Hagan (spelling?)? He was Rooney's previous partner in the booth. They sounded alike so one of them had to go. Isnt he the one who talked smack about Todd Helton earlier this year and had to retract his statements? I say no to Bill Melton also. I dont like listening to him, he seems to be far too impressed with himself.
  2. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:26 PM) Anyway closed the forum down and moved it into the archive section of the board. We'll probably re-open it during the off-season, unless people would prefer to keep all that discussion on the main board (whichever the masses prefer we'll do). I also moved over the two active threads that were in that forum (one made by tony and than the other on Furcal).
  3. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 09:25 AM) On a totally unrelated note, I get to pick up my authentic Home Sox Jersey tomorrow. Oh and where's the "Where would he play?" shirt? i wonder if Ron Mexico jerseys arent available for baseball too?
  4. Someone on another board was asking where to find shirts like "He Gawn" and "You can put it on the board!"? Is there a website with shirts like this, or is this pretty much a walk-up deal?
  5. Easily Hawks most quoted saying on this site on July 30th-Aug 1st, and Aug 30th-September 1st.
  6. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 09:11 AM) When using the iTrip, make sure the volume level of your ipod is not greater than 75 or 80 percent of the maximum. If it is, you'll get a horrible sound. It's better to turn the ipod down and the radio up if you want clear reception. It can also be very tricky to find a station that works mostly everywhere in your town, but after you do, the device works pretty damn well. The Itrip seems to be good for some, and not so good for others. I completely agree on the Ipod volume with the Itrip, 75-80 percent is about as high as you can go without getting crackles in your signal. The station I use pretty much all of the time is 87.9. It seems to be unused pretty much everywhere, and I never have problems with the signals.
  7. How often can Maggs go 12 for 18 or whatever he did and only have one RBI. He may have hit alot of singles, but he didnt do any damage, thats nice.
  8. QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 03:21 PM) Update: After f***ing around with it a little, I was able to restore my wife's playlist and the thing seems stable. Still not sure why the "do not disconnect" icon stayed up so long during the battery charge. I had to click on the "safely remove hardware" icon to remove the USB cable, then get out of the iTunes player and then do it all over again. I'll definitely keep an eye on it - I guess it's a good thing I got the extended 3-year plan. And thanks for the tip, bmags - I was able to get all of my "bad" songs ( my ugly punk & metal stuff ) off of her playlist. She will be VERY grateful to you.... The Ipod will continue to say "Do not Disconnect" until you click on the eject button on Itunes, next to your Ipods name. The first time you charge the Ipod is the absolute longest, the battery pretty much has nothing in it, and it charges all the way up. My Ipod took a pretty long time to charge the first time also. There are tons of little nuances that Apple installs as defaults, and they are pretty damn annoying. The worst being the automatic update. Once you disable the Auto Update, its pretty awesome. Try www.ipodlounge.com for a downloadable help manual on every seperate Ipod version. Its pretty handy. If you want to play your songs on more of a constant random selection, go to your Settings and scroll down to shuffle, and click it twice until SONG is showing. Give it a chance before you throw it out the window.
  9. Definitely "The Beast" commercials. Another funny bunch of commercials is those taste-loss commercials, with the serious narrator. When he says at the end of the commercial "There are no stupid questions about taste-loss" and the kid says "Can you catch taste-loss from the foosball table", to which the narrator replies "I stand corrected, there are stupid questions about taste-loss." priceless. Im really excited about football season because this is when all of the cool commercials start popping out of the woodwork, on Sundays.
  10. G-Man is trying to ruin the petition. Is there any way to block people out of signing it, or taking peoples "signatures" out? What he did was pretty s***ty.
  11. One of my favorites is still the bud lite commercial where the guy comes home with the ditzy girl, and he gets a call by a buddy when she goes in the kitchen to get him a beer. He tells his buddy "She is a little ditzy, but im desperate..." (not verbatim) she comes out with the beer and her parrot starts repeating what he said.
  12. QUOTE(bmags @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 10:57 AM) I don't know...listening to the more gritty beats really just made me despise how clean everything is now. Everything really is way to over produced (now i'll pump up saul williams) do you have any other hip hop albums around that time i should get? I really just have eric b. and rakims s*** and then rakims solo Im a really big fan of GURU: Jazzmatazz volume 1. All three of his albums are great, but his first is really awesome. Other than that, I am a big fan of Jurassic 5
  13. Lets hope the Sox can give him 11 more wins after the season ends, and send him out right.
  14. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 08:11 AM) We still got a game with them tommorow I believe. always raining on parades.....
  15. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 11:54 PM) The Score has nothing to do with the broadcasters it is the team that does. This is a Sox decision. The SCORE may ahve input but they work for the Sox. Teh SCORE is a s*** station none the less and this is a real pisser. Why is DJ still employeed, does anyone like him???? Uh Oh. Speak not of what you do not understand! http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...cs-home-utility Send your petition off to Brooks. See what good it does.
  16. QUOTE(WhiteSox311 @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 10:22 PM) What Hype...he didnt play for like 2 years or something and didnt get drafted high either....werent too many expectations The hype during and after his FROSH year. Also the hype that has kept him in the spotlight(for the most part) since he was kicked out of school. If he wasnt hyped then we never would have heard from him again. Unfortunately, we keep hearing about him.
  17. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 11:54 PM) That's totally correct because Ron Turner is the god of 3rd and 20 draw plays... How so? Last time he was the OC, Erik Kramer broke every passing record the bears held, and Curtis Conway was his primary target. Seeing what happened to both of their careers when Turner left, I would have to say he is much better than the "God of 3rd and 20 plays". Turner may have flopped as the head coach of the illini, but he is a damn fine OC.
  18. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 04:06 PM) I agree Crooked and Slanted are both solid. What's new that I should get my hands on? Any recommendations? I really like "I am Kloot' English folk rock band, the lead singer has a bob Dylan feel about him.
  19. QUOTE(bmags @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 03:50 PM) have you ever heard the bends? I own the bends. I dont think it is nearly as rocked out as Muse gets, but thats just me. What is SLSK?
  20. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 03:44 PM) a team with an injury will most likely pick him up and use the injury as an excuse to put him on the roster, if need be. I dont think there is any scenario in which Ponson could qualify for postseason. Of course, he could pitch in the next month, but i am fairly sure he isnt eligible to play in the playoffs(correct me if I am wrong).
  21. QUOTE(bmags @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 03:45 PM) yeah, of muse, travis, and coldplay...muse is the only radiohead ripoff i get mildly entertained my... now MEW on the other hand...is aceeeee Well, Muse is much more rocked out than Radiohead ever was. They are starting to develop the oddness of Radiohead though, thats for sure. I still love the song "Hysteria", I think the opening bass/guitar riff is killer.
  22. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 03:37 PM) Speaking of The Killers, the Cure, The Smiths.... etc, does anyone like The Dears? Their last record has grown on me slowly, but in a very big way. It's kind of Morrissey-esque, with slight hints of jazz and trip hop. Anyone? I will tell you tomorrow. My Limewire will be hooked up tonite
  23. On the subject of singers sounding alike, has anyone noticed that the band Muse sounds like a rocked out Radiohead? Their lead singers have identical voices.
  24. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 03:25 PM) Eh, maybe not, although the lines about playing with stars and uniting seem like they could be obscure Valentine Michael Smith/SISL references. Well, the Killers are a Vegas band. He could be writing obscure references, or talking about being in Vegas and seeing stars. Who knows. Anywho, I really like that song
