  1. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 09:50 AM) Go home to where? I don't think is really popular in Aruba right now Really though, Is anybody popular in Aruba after this past year?
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 09:38 AM) Limited mental capacity LOL
  3. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:36 AM) Why is this guy on the banner atop this page? :banghead Why the constant use of the word "Focking"?
  4. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 08:51 AM) And half of his legal problems have never even made the press.. A shame. There are problems outside of trying to run over a judge on a beach and 2 DUI's? Do tell.
  5. If you add Contreras' sunday start against the Yankees, this is the line for the 3 starters 24 IP, 3 ER, 18 H, 2 BB, 14 K Thats some great numbers. Averaging 8 IP, 1 ER, 6 H, .66 BB, and 4 Ks. And a One Hitter with a loss. :banghead
  6. Rafael Palmeiro needs to make his results public if he wants to clear his name in whatever way. Everyone says he used a "bad" steroid, but noone has seen any results about anything. It would certainly clear my mind a little more. I dont remember Schilling as being such a Gossip Queen and Mr. Controversy until he got to Boston. Did he have an hourlong spot on a radio show when he was in Philly or Arizona?
  7. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 08:01 AM) Just want to get some luv out to the pitchers for the last two starts. Check out this stat line 16 IP, 2 ER, 7 H, 2 BB, 9 K Severe ownage alert!!! We all raved about Garcia, but how about Mark Buehrle being the student of the game. He sits there and watches Johan Santana absolutely punish hitters with the best change in the game, and something suddenly clicks... He goes back and watches tape of Johan pitching and realizes that he has been easing up on his change up and tipping it off to hitters. Its not a deadarm, its mechanics. Mark makes sure to finish his change like a fastball, and nobody could get a solid read on him all night. He gives up one run in 8 innings to LeCroy, but couples that with 4 double plays turned, and no walks to go with his 6 strikeouts. Look out MLB, if Garcia and Buehrle pitch like this in October, you are all in some trouble. I think you should add Contreras' numbers against the Yankees to this composite. The past 3 starts have been phenomenal.
  8. I cant believe that i used to think this guy was going to be a dominant pitcher at some point. What a head case. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2142576
  9. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 11:15 PM) I'm sure plenty of us have had these thoughts for a long time. This isn't knee-jerk. But nothing has been confirmed, and I think this thing sounds a little shady. Hopefully they can conduct the same test with another sample, because right now the same fingerpointing is going on.
  10. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 10:00 PM) Todd Bertuzzi? Todd Moore and Steve Bertuzzi. Get it Right.
  11. I just wasted an hour listening to Bruce babble about nothing. I want that time back goddamnit
  12. So let me get this straight, right now we are all believing the test results produced by a French magazine(the french despise Armstrong for winning the tour), and judge him right now on that? I thought you guys would have a little better sense than that. How is it that the director of the tour can attack Armstrong and in the same sentence admit that the Magazine has not produced the same documents that it printed in the paper? This test was not conducted by a member of the Tour, neither a representative from the tour or Armstrong's representatives were present. Seems like this story needs to be drawn out a little more before we declare this man guilty. Im not saying he isnt, but I am not picking up a pitchfork and torch just yet.
  13. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 10:42 PM) He's got nothing better to do, you should get a response within the next few minutes. you never know
  14. I just emailed Dolgin about it, lets see how fast he gets back to us
  15. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 10:32 PM) I refuse to be dragged into obsessive, non-stop, Ken Griffey, Jr. watching. I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE!! ok, you are just gonna deny it anyways. See-ya-later-goodbye.
  16. I heard Hawk change his tune too. It was very obvious.
  17. All i know, is it was shaped like a twinkie, with the strangest looking hook on top. It always stood out to me, and when it was nailed by the tornado I was amazed at what happened to it.
  18. If anyone cares to let the author know how they feel, let me know what he says [email protected]
  19. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 04:28 PM) Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't "highest velocity" something we can, like, measure quantitatively? Something that we can make a top 10 or top 20 list about while relying exclusively on empirical data without an ounce of opinion or homerism? I agree with you, but obviously we are wrong.
  20. I have family in Springfield, and we would drive through Plainfield on the way to Route 51 south. We went through Plainfield the week after the tornado hit. It looked like a ghost town. I vividly remember a church that had a unique structure on the top, a large sort of hook on top. After the tornado hit, it looked like someone removed the "hook", picked it up and set it down about 50 feet away. Mother Nature can really make us look small when she tries.
  21. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 04:08 PM) Yet he still wont win a super bowl Whats that have to do with anything? he won a Superbowl with the Rams, he doesnt have to win one this year to prove anything.
  22. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 04:06 PM) Carlos Zambrano is the hardest throwing starter in baseball. Period. But he got bumped in favor of Prior. The whole context of the article is wrong, the guy isnt listing the top throwers (velocity-wise), he just pulled a bunch of names out of a hat.
  23. You have no argument from me there. During the game I said "If this was Yankees/Red Sox, this game would be on ESPN Classic TOMORROW." I stand by that statement.
  24. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article...t=.jsp&c_id=mlb Personally, i think this list is a joke. If you want to ask if these are among the best pitchers out there, well that is one thing. But this list is saying that these pitchers throw the hardest, and which do you think throws the hardest. I dont want to sound like a homer, but Bobby Jenks should be on that list. Clemens still gets it up there, but Randy Johnson hasnt seen the other side of 95 MPH the entire year. Schilling? Come on, the guy still hasnt regained his velocity, he tops out at 94. There are so many names missing on this list its unbelieveable.
