  1. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) Bullinger is 40 years old and hasn't played in the big leagues since '98. I doubt this is a move to try and help the big league club. Which makes signing him that much more confusing.
  2. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) There is no chance that Minnesota gets Owens. They just got rid of one headache in Moss ESPN mentioned it yesterday, thats why I said "remotely connected" TO is Philly's headache now. They should have let his b**** ass rot in Baltimore, catching no passes from Boller.
  3. Didnt they have and drop him in like 1996? What purpose does he fill on the minor league roster?
  4. The Cardinals have Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin who they have already tied alot of money into. Tampa loves Clayton, and they are still climbing out of salary-cap hell, which is the same problem for Oakland. The only team i have heard TO remotely connected to is Minnesota, and even that is a longshot because of Culpeppers deal and the ownership situation.
  5. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 02:31 PM) My cousin lives in Kildeer, and fences around your yard are not allowed. Its strange driving down the street to his house. There are several in- ground pools in people's yards with no fences. It would have to be a nightmare for people with young kids living there. hmm, my aunt and uncle live in kildeer as well (near long grove rd), I never thought of it, but now that you mention it I havent seen fenced in yards there. its also an upscale little community though, and those type of communities have alot of HOA rules. My father used to live in batavia, and in his little subdivision above-ground pools were not allowed. Of course, the mayor lived down the street from us and had an above-ground pool......
  6. B&R, is this some sort of social commentary or is there an actual meaning behind this. What constitutes as snitching? When is it telling the truth when asked? If you had a son or daughter, and they were in trouble at school for something someone else did, would you be mad if he/she "snitched" on the person who actually did the deed? What does pokemon or baseball cards have to do with snitching? Not much, if anything. I teach my daughter accountability. That doesnt mean she should go around tattling on everyone who did something wrong, but you havent set many parameters on "snitching".
  7. QUOTE(WSNS-TV44 @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) Oh,I see.Guess she her heart sank when Torii "Spelling" Hunter went down on the DL. I am hearing a rimshot......
  8. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 11:49 AM) Why do you guys bother...?? You could say the sky was blue and he'd come up with some bulls*** math equasion as to why it's not. We need the flying/falling s*** tag from WSI over here... Heads.. can you get that on loaner for us...?? LOL, the sky is pink because A+B=-X And because everyone not a christian is a heathen
  9. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 10:42 AM) With respect to waivers the CBA makes reference to MLB Rule 10. If you can find information pertaining to that rule that should end this debate. There is no mention of irrevocable waivers in the CBA or any official document I've been able to find in MLB. I will always believe official documents over ESPN news reports. Reporters make mistakes all the time. That's why they print corrections. Find me a correction on ESPN.com that says irrevocable waivers dont exist, and that the reporter made it up
  10. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 10:19 AM) I want us to face oakland sometime in the playoffs, because I think we are due. You have to beat the best to be the best folks. A- f***ING-Men, Rock. This is how I have felt all year.
  11. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 10:34 AM) That's a DIFFERENT waiver period altogether! We are talking REGULAR season! Dont try and clarify after the fact. you know what you said.
  12. Hey juggs, it helps to know what you are talking about when you say there is no such thing as irrevocable waivers. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1650053 however, there is no tooth fairy. Santa Claus is another story.
  13. QUOTE(Al Lopez's Ghost @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 09:58 AM) Well, wouldn't the White Sox claim him? Then the Reds would have to deal with the White Sox. No? If the Sox claim him, they pick up his contract, right? And if they let him clear waivers, then they could work out a trade to have the reds pick up some of his salary. At least thats how I understand it, correct me if Im wrong.
  14. Im actually kind of worried that Griffey would clear waivers, and the Reds would work out a trade with someone other than the Sox. I dont think the problem for the Sox is worrying wether he will make it through waivers rather it is wether the Sox will be the one that the Reds deal with.
  15. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) This offense makes me sick. The Sox record makes me healthy.
  16. GREAT STOP. This series is fantastic so far. Everything I wanted, plus the drama.
  17. Is small sneaky or something? I dont think Pods has swung yet
  18. Something tells me that all foul nets in the major leagues are going to be able to hold at least 250 pounds after yesterday.
  19. Hey! Look at that! Small ball! Widger moved the runners!
  20. Rowand is making a name for himself in this series. he looks Edmonds-like.
  21. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 12:43 PM) 1-0 Yankees after two innings of play at the Bronx Zoo. The Bronx Zoo? I thought they renamed it The Bronx Launching Pad last night?
  22. Did you guys just hear Bruce interviewing Griffey?
