  1. QUOTE(SHAFTR @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 02:17 PM) As I posted in another thread, Milwaukee isn't going to trade Overbay this season. They are going to wait until the offseason before they make a move with him. I dont know about that, Prince Fielder showed them he could hit major league pitching, and getting him a half season in the bigs wouldnt hurt him at all. Isnt Overbay a free agent after this season? If so, Milwaukee would be wise to move him now so they can get something for him.
  2. this would make me extremely happy.
  3. QUOTE(UofIChiSox @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 01:22 PM) I know you might have posted all of this somewhat sarcastically, but it was interesting stuff. I only knew Frank had a bad ankle, now I know more and I thank you. No problem. I wasnt trying to be really sarcastic, I figured everyone had taken care of that for me. Alot of people dont really grasp how bad of an injury Thomas had(or still has), and figure its as simple as waiting for the ankle to heal. That isnt close to the truth, he could break the same bone over again if he puts pressure on the right part of his foot. He has screws in his ankle that wont come out. I wouldnt think you would be able to fake swelling in the ankle, or I wouldnt think that he would can the season because he doesnt feel like he is getting good ABs.
  4. Ok Sweatpants, from what I understand is that Frank thomas broke his navicular bone in his ankle. Here is a website showing you what that bone is, and what it is used for. http://www.arthroscopy.com/sp09012.htm Here is some more info: http://www.emedicine.com/sports/topic85.htm Tell me something, do you think Frank Thomas would just fake an injury on a year like the Sox are having? Conversely, looking at the nature of the injury and the subsequent surgery, isnt it possible that Thomas could re-injure the foot very easily and irritate the injury often?
  5. He probably strained the muscle under his ribcage or his side abdominal with that homerun swing. He really golfed for that ball, and also had to pull his hands way in to hit it. I was thinking when they showed the replay that it looked kind of painful
  6. QUOTE(WSox30 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 12:47 PM) he was in paris He was? I thought he has been doing PTI for the last month. I guess I didnt realize where he was.
  7. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 12:43 PM) Speaking of idiots, I haven't heard anything about Moronatti in ages (I'm not complaining). Is he still around? He has been bashing the Cubs for the last month, and writing feelgood interest pieces on Lance Armstrong and the Olympics. You cant complain about something that isnt going wrong.
  8. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 12:34 PM) He is...I had no idea who he even was aside from referring to him as "that jackass I once heard on the radio". He's a dumbass, just listen to him...he's your typical know it all "expert" who is almost always wrong. this guy reminds me of JT the Brick. Nothing intelligent to say, just spouting off other peoples opinions, trying to piss off fans of a certain team to get some good angry phone calls. You just have to ignore him, but if he gets caught with his foot in the mouth(like JT did about the Red Sox last year and the raiders the year before) you gotta call him out BIGTIME. Those are the best days ever.
  9. He just said that if the Sox win the world series, he will come to Chi-town to let the local media berate him.

    AJB Record

QUOTE(LDF @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 10:37 AM) has this be asked before, if so please disregard this. does anyone know what AJB record been in the interleague games this season and last. Note: did he pitched against OAK and BOS These are his numbers against the AL since 2002
  11. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 11:46 AM) Man I can only hope so. I want to see Lowell, Burnett, and possibly Griffey or Huff on the SS.... Thats all? Thats not bad....
  12. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 11:37 AM) Thank you! I was hoping people would respond like this! they probably would have if you would have said it in the right forum. If you would have bothered to look, I pretty much said the same thing, yesterday.
  13. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 11:34 AM) It's become very very quiet...a KW strike is on the horizon. About three times yesterday I tried to log on but was rejected because of too many connections to the server. I thought that a trade had been done because so many people logged on. I was pretty dissapointed when I logged on and found out it was only because everyone decided to log on at the same time....
  14. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 11:27 AM) Ohh.. you mean the driveways. I thought you were talking about the blacktop on commercial roofs. I was talking about the streets going through the subdivision also. I dont know if this is common practice, but the subdivision we lived in originally made the streets and cul de sacs and paved them about 3-4 inches short of the curb, so they could just put the new blacktop down on top and have it look like it is flush and brand new.
  15. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 11:25 AM) seriously, what the hell is your problem. The problem is that you didnt need to create a thread to express your thought. You could have said that in the "Who are you rooting for" thread, and it would have been just fine. Instead, you make a thread such as this, and try and call out everyone involved in that thread. Say what you want, just say it in the appropriate forum.
  16. http://www.suntimes.com/output/sox/cst-spt-ssep26.html Is the holdup on this deal the Sox trying to swing Lowell to a third party? Just a thought, maybe Lowell(and a prospect or two)could be on his way to Philly for Wagner and Bell? Just thinking out loud, no substance to anything.
  17. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 11:05 AM) Blacktop...? On residential homes..??? Not sure.. but I'm gonna guess that's a huge building code violation. They wait until all the construction is done on the houses before they finish paving the street because the constant heavy construction machinery beating up the pavement. Blacktop stinks, when it is 100 degrees it stinks even worse.
  18. QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 09:04 AM) Pods has lost balls in the air that Rowand had to run behind him to catch. Come on, that happened one time. Pods isnt the best LF ever, granted, but he made a mistake and fortunately Rowand was there to cover him. It isnt a regular thing for pods.
  19. We were the first house on the backside of a subdivision in high school. For 3 years, all i heard every morning was construction workers, trucks, machines, piledrivers, tractors. Plus, I got to smell the wonderful smell of blacktop on the last day of construction, a 100 degree day, which lasted for about 3 weeks. I know how much it sucks.
  20. Juggs, did you make that list up yourself or is that a link?
  21. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 10:37 AM) Wasn't the Burnett deal supposed to be announced this morning, per a Bears message board? http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...79entry795279 In all fairness, Anthrax93's source has about an hour and 15 minutes before his 60% correct prediction comes true.
  22. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 10:37 AM) Wasn't the Burnett deal supposed to be announced this morning, per a Bears message board? Who made this bold prediction......hmmmmmm?
  23. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 11:15 PM) I remember when someone called another pitcher on the Royals an alien. Someone automatically assumed that it meant he was an illegal immigrant and decided to curse the person out. When it was pointed out that the guy looks like E.T., the person was nowhere to be found. Ha! That was me.
