  1. Need a date so I can give you a confirmation. But I am interested for sure
  2. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 01:09 PM) I'm not all that concerned with August. We can muddle through if he needs a break. I'm more concerned if Mark or Jon or Freddie goes down. That's why I think we should pick up another starter. I think this also presents a problem with acquiring a starter. What starter is going to want to come here and start only if El Duque is hurt? It really limits what Kenny can go out and do because Duque's status is always in flux. To me(and only to me, its only my opinion) Duque is really going to have to prove himself in the next month to be healthy and durable.
  3. QUOTE(forrestg @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 01:14 AM) monday night is 1/2 price night the last couple of mondays have been sold out. Tues is buy one get one free but only has to do with the upper deck seats only I believe. I thought the cell held 38000 + but the numbers tonight were 37445, or close to that figure on the screen, a sellout, or something so what is the cell's capacity? Tonight the stadium rocked!! Carmen mentioned this mornign that the PAID attendance was 37445, but with all of the player and personnel comps the attendance was well over 39+.
  4. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) I think the Sox should get another starter, but not because of El Duque. We have 2.5 months of season left and one of our 5 starters could have a Halladay or Prior type incident happen. If I knew our 5 starters would be healthy all year, I'd dance with the ones that brought us. The important part of your statement. Hernandez really worries me that he is going to need more "time off" in mid august.
  5. Good enough to stop worrying about a trade for another starter?
  6. Im just wondering what everyone's feel is about last nights pitching performance out of Hernandez. I felt that he was still pretty shaky, and didnt show what he needed to show in order to take the butterflies out of my stomach every time he pitches until the end of the season. Lost in the glory that was Joe Crede, Juan Uribe, Konerko and Thomas going deep was that Hernandez only went 6 innings, gave up 4 earned runs, and threw 96 pitches. I didnt expect him to go deep into the game, truth be told, but i was hoping for a little more efficiency and for El Duque to avoid the big inning. Do you feel any better today about the 5th starter spot than you did before yesterdays game?
  7. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 12:23 PM) http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation...g?event_id=1431 cant believe its so cubs dominated, oh wait, yeah I can. Think about how many states are in what is considered New England. That gives them that many more chances to talk about Boston and New York.
  8. Jason Smith is on today, he is a New York honky. You guys will probably hate him.
  9. He (and all of his troll sub-names) has been banned. Cub and Twins fan, go figure.
  10. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 09:45 AM) mariotti is just setting up for a rip KW and the Sox column if he's not able to swing a big time deal. Nothing more, nothing less. Thats what I was thinking. If the Sox slump at any time in the second half of the season, then he is going to point to this article and say "I told you so." He loves to call his shots.
  11. from his blog Some people have too much time on their hands, I swear. This kid hates the Sox more than he likes any other team. He likes the Cubs, Indians, and Twins. I could see the Twins and Cubs, he wouldnt be the first to like those two teams, but the Indians too?
  12. I dont think I can remember Joe doing something as cool as his bat flip after his homerun yesterday. That was shades of Dante Bichette right there, I was jacked when he hit that home run. I can only imagine how great it was to be at the game.

    Tyson to do Porn?

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 05:12 PM) Today on PTI Wilbon talked about a report that Tyson is in talks with "a guy named Jimmy" to get him in touch with Jenna Jameson's "people" about a possible porn career. Just when you think Tyson can't get any more bizarre and whacked out than he already is, a story like this emerges. This is some hilarious stuff, if true. think about the life skills he has acquired in his boxing career. Hit people. Make money. Spend money. Repeat. He needs to make money somehow, the government is after him.
  14. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 04:49 PM) I have wanted Hawkins even when pitching poorly with the Cubs. That north side bullpen is a mess and will always be a mess under Baker. I can't say Hawkins will be as good as he was with Minnesota, but I think he can turn into a valuable arm if we get him. I'm not really putting any fact into my words other than we all know Hawkins isn't a closer, but I have a good feeling that if he put some time in with Cooper and threw in the 7th inning, we'd have a steal. As long as he is last on the list for "emergency closer", I am happy. I agree that he would be a nice 7th inning stopper. A much better option than jizzcan.

    104.3

Its pretty funny working in a radio station when the format is flipped. The radio stations rarely tell anyone they are doing it, and usually the core listeners get PISSED. I had to deal with a few when one of the sister stations where I worked flipped from easy listening to Top-40. You never heard a gramma get mad like that before.
  16. Didnt he say the same thing last year right before he traded for Garcia? And how about "The White Sox are not going to sign AJ Pierzinski" deftector shield is up on KW now.
  17. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 03:04 PM) he is a terrible hitter and doesnt really hustle That has to be the antithesis of the Twins philosophy. Im surprised he is still on the team
  18. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 02:59 PM) he called me this morning....told me he would still be here till tomorrow....cmon i did not think it would be this hard to get seats for a monday game against the tigers....guess i was wrong A 4 game sweep of the Indians and the return of Magglio probably sold alot of tickets in the past 2 days.

  20. QUOTE(Southside hitmen @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 02:47 PM) Said that the Whitesox have no shot in the playoffs because of our weak lineup compare to the other AL Teams But this Loser didnt mention our pitching staff Who was it? Valvano? Jason Smith? I bet you he thought the Yankees pitching staff is really good

  23. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 02:42 PM) i also have tickets for sundays game against the red sox i am willing trade...... You are willing to trade tickets to this weekends game vs the reigning World Champion Boston Red Sox for half-priced tickets to the game vs the 4th place Detroit Tigers? Are you crazy? You already have the hot ticket.
  24. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 02:40 PM) i dont think that is too demanding but i will consider anything in the 100 level that is not in the outfield..... If I read correctly earlier, the Sox have already sold 31K + tickets for this game. Welcome to the wonderful world of Walk-up sales.
