  1. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 08:46 PM) Steve Phillips has been on the Mike and Mike show several days this week and I cannot fathom how he functioned as the general manager of a major league baseball team. i know what you are saying. I listened today for about 20 minutes and I was totally blown away by his theories and approaches on dealing with various problems with teams. He is in his own world.
  2. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 08:33 PM) He's acceptable because of his power numbers and defense. He's not a stud though. props on the opposite field foul pole bomb though.
  3. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 08:27 PM) do you want to b**** a little more? They did the same thing last time which ever team was broadcasting on csn got the post-game show. :finger :finger I wasnt aware I was b****ing alot. Wait a second, I dont care.
  4. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 08:14 PM) He is commenting on the All Star Game. He said LaRussa is going to load the team with Cardinals. Stoney had to correct him, and tell him the manager doesn't have much of a say as to the reserves this year. But here's the topper. He just called the Cardinals, a team that has lost 3 straight, and is 5-5 in its last 10, and is 5 games behind the White Sox, the hottest team in baseball. Oh, and he also said the toughest job in baseball is GM of the Mets. Go cry yourself to sleep, Steve. Today on the radio he was saying that he was wrong about the White Sox and they are the best team in baseball. He then said that he was one of the first to step up and admit that he was wrong. Whatever. He then went on to say he thought that the Yankees/Mets interleague rivalry was one of the most intense and fierce, although the White Sox/Cubs recently has become a heated rivalry. If I knew how to paste an image I would put one up of a tool.
  5. With numbers like that, how can Corey request to move to the TOP of the order? Thats just insane! Even more insane is that Dusty did it! Inmates running the asylum.....
  6. Aramis and Lee were neutralized today, and the game was dominated from then on. I think it really showed how below average their supporting cast is in comparison to their stars. **Just announced Prior will start Prior is being rushed so Dusty can save the series. What an idiot.
  7. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 06:35 PM) The scary thing is that we aren't losing a thing with Ozuna playing SS over Uribe. Ozuna is playing lights out man, Uribe might have to turn it up a notch now that Ozuna is proving to be a good one.
  8. thats so funny. I cannot believe the cubbie fans couldnt find their own "loser script kiddie" to compete. They just let it happen
  9. On the running blog of the game on Chicagosports.com called "From the Cubicle" this paragraph was the second one down LMFAO! :finger
  10. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 06:22 PM) Lilly: vs. Left: .358 vs. Right: .252 Day: 10.03 Night: 5.31 Current Month: 3.46 :puke why do you have to post scary things? you should be banned for posting such frightening numbers.
  11. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 06:20 PM) You just knew it was coming. :rolly If the Sox take all three, Dusty is going to age 10 more years. He looks like such a pitiful dude when his team loses
  12. How come I have to watch the Cubs post-game after a White Sox win, at the White Sox park, on a station that the Cubs share. Dont give me this "It was the Cubs broadcast" s*** either. There should have been both teams broadcast before and after the game.
  13. Dusty complained that his team could have used an extra day off yesterday. I knew it! I knew he would find some sort of excuse.
  14. What was the largest margin of victory in any of the Sox/Cubs games? Was todays game? Sorry if the subject already came up.

    Of Course

Have you seen the Dear Paul and Dear Mark stories on chicagosports.com? They are both pretty much about the Cubs. Dear Paul http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines Dear Mark http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines So much for a beat reporter.
  16. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 09:35 AM) http://stickandballguy.blogspot.com/2005/0...in-kitchen.html stick and ball guy rules. I really like the fact that he can accept losing without resorting to childish name calling. He also pointed out the censorship issue I talked about earlier. Looks like Bat-girl is alienating some Twins fans also.
  17. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 01:21 PM) I agree with him actually. Ozzie does get away with alot more stuff and lots of people say that reporters don't always print what he says because he would be in a boatload more of trouble. I have a feeling that whenever Ozzie starts losing, it'll go downhilll big time. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 01:44 PM) Mariotti, Padilla and another columnist from Chicago have said the same. You know, Mariotti disagrees with you now. http://www.suntimes.com/output/mariotti/spx-news-jay24.html This is pretty much why i never use Mariotti as a source during an argument on a White Sox messageboard.
  18. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 09:23 AM) Muranic (sp?) Acid will take it off.. but I'd call the police if I were you. A nice $75 ticket for defacing public property might make the asshole think twice about doing that s*** next time. Muriatic. We used that crap to scrape the lake scum off of my dads boat. Pretty much watered down hydrochloric acid, vicious stuff.
  19. QUOTE(GoArow33 @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 09:13 AM) So I woke up this morning to get my paper and I notice that my White Sox flag has been taken off its stand and thrown onto the driveway and when I walked further down that some drunken loser had written Cubs in spray paint across my side walk. This happens to be beyond friendly jeering in my mind and I'm quite upset that I'll probably have to get new concrete in to cover up this trash on my sidewalk. So today I'll be cheering extra loud on the first base side @ the cell. GO SOX!!! Win this one for my sidewalk... thats pretty pathetic. it lets you know how they feel about the upcoming series though.
  20. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 07:52 AM) Shall we bring back the b*tch*ass Pationless Sox thread for comparison? Corpseball? It's all good and what makes mlb so much fun. I love rapid fans of every team. It's the casual fan that is most likely an idiot you want to stay away from. Passion-less? Rabid? Where is this passion-less thread you speak of?
  21. QUOTE(Allsox @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 01:40 PM) No, I wasn't kidding....Even Ozzie said in the postgame conf Tues this kid's got good stuff and has no idea how he's 1 - 8....He's playing for the KC Royals, who haven't been world beaters the last two years....Any situation would be better for that kid than there.... Im just saying that the Royals wont trade a potential ace to a team in their own division who is already in first place. thats just silly
  22. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 01:44 PM) Mariotti, Padilla and another columnist from Chicago have said the same. Sure, the two most trusted and unbiased journalists in Chicago. Who is the other columnist?
  23. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 01:36 PM) It's not just that. It's the pitcher's spot being a nearly-automatic out. Except when Zambrano pitches against the Brewers
  24. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 12:53 PM) Ivanna Getrunover...i know it's corny. For some reason, I thought of Fred Willards character in "A Mighty Wind". thats the kind of joke he would have told, LOL
