  1. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 10:18 PM) And we go down in order again. Woody f***ing Williams is not this good. They seem to be hitting the ball well though, maybe it will start finding some holes soon.
  2. You know, someone aughtta send a complete suckup I-love-you hawk email to hawk and dj from Matt Cullen in Wheaton. You know that guy watches Hawk because he hates him so much, thats what obsessive people do. If Hawk says his name I bet you it shows up in his website tomorrow. Im not creative enough.
  3. Jon has finally figured out damage control. That was a great job getting out of that, without even letting Nevin advance a base. Nice.
  4. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 09:59 PM) GREAT pitch Jon. That was my favorite Garland pitch, his nasty changeup.
  5. Sox fans are in full force tonite it seems, when the Sox scored that place got really loud!
  6. QUOTE(SHAFTR @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 04:07 PM) Ok, I also dislike Mariotti, but I'm a little confused. There is all this anger for putting up a website against The Hawk, making profit off someone else, and trying to get someone fired. Yet, you are willing to do it for someone else? hypocrites. Make sure you put your names, phone numbers and address, so everyone knows who you are (on the site). But the anger towards the creators of heavethehawk is more based on his "evidence" that paciorek doesnt like him, his proof that the A's fanbase doesnt like Hawk, and evidence that Hawk had a bad career by posting his career numbers. The anger towards mariotti stems from his constant lies, agenda, bandwagon nature, and his general disdain for anything Chicago in nature. I never wanted to shut down heavethehawk or get those guys fired, i just think they have a weak case that they have presented. Mariotti, on the other hand, prints everything he thinks, therefore it is easy to pick out his flip-flops and falsified facts. edit: And before you call me a hypocrite, I already said i would put my name and un-blurred picture on the site.
  7. QUOTE(robin_ventura_eternal @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 03:31 PM) not the year with bere, i never liked him. i think he was inconsistant Inconsistant meaning he won his first nine starts in 94 and ended up 12-2? Inconsistant in 93 when he ended up 12-5? In 93 and 94, Bere was on his game.
  8. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 03:25 PM) Our pitching in 00 absolutly sucked. In the second half it did. The first half rocked.
  9. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 03:22 PM) Naa, I much would rather have wasted our money on Jaret Wright.. :finger LOL, I was wondering if you were going to read that
  10. I would like to say since birth, but my family erroneously tried to force feed me the Cubs. 11 years of not caring about sports came to a screeching halt when I went to a Sox/Indians game in 1990, when all the sudden it clicked and I liked baseball, especially the White Sox.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 02:35 PM) I think it's funny that a lot of the Red Sox hitters have seen their power numbers go down this year (in the season of steroid testing). I was told by a MLB scout early last year that the Red Sox had a roster full of steroid abusers. This was said well before steroids became a big issue in baseball. Hmmm Manny, Ortiz, Millar, Nomar(at the time he was on the BoSox), Varitek?
  12. I even hold it against Navarro that Schueler thought Navarro was worth the money that Clemens didnt get. I cannot believe Schueler picked Navarro over Clemens. I am still in disbelief over that.
  13. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 02:28 PM) I don't remember exactly when but he was either suspended or forced to take a leave of absence from the Sun-Times several years ago. I would think the fact that the paper is going to the trouble of printing a correction of his column that at the very least we have seen the last of his JR bashing for a while. He hasnt had a column in the 2 days since Skiles signed. That is strange in itself, I figured he was going to have alot to say about Jerry after the Comcast interview.
  14. I wonder if Jay would have to get his own lawyers or if the Suntimes would back him on that sort of a venture.
  15. Im thinking along the lines of the Bureau of Better Journalism
  16. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 02:17 PM) Speaking of Marriotti, was it true that in Thursday's Sun-Times on the bottom of page 2 where they make corrections on errors from previous stories, they corrected Marriotti's account of the Skiles/JR "negotiation", and the amount Guillen was going to be paid on his extension? I never looked but a couple people say its true. I wonder if the editors will be hearing from Jay's lawyers. A Jay Mariotti column and a news story that appeared in the June 8 edition of the Chicago Sun-Times should have said that the Bulls' contract with coach Scott Skiles was agreed on at $16 million guaranteed over four years, including the option year. The Mariotti column should have said the deal was made in a telephone conversation with Bulls chairman Jerry Reinsdorf and Skiles. The Bulls' offer did not change from the day before. After that phone deal, Bulls general manager John Paxson and Reinsdorf also agreed to give Skiles a $500,000 bonus for his recent success with the team. That Mariotti column also should have said that Ozzie Guillen's two-year contract extension was for $2.5 million.
  17. Anthrax would have signed him.
  18. I'll tell you what SS2K5, I will split startup costs with you and maintenance duties. This is starting to sound like a plausible idea. I wouldnt even blur my picture for it, I would get a good grinning shot with my middle finger extended.
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 02:04 PM) What does it cost to register a domain and hire a webmaster? LOL thinking about it? Go get him SS2K5 SS2K5 Mariotti
  20. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 02:00 PM) Which would get a bazillion hits and make a million dollars easily. And Mariotti would respond by saying "you will hear from my lawyers...."
  21. Farmio's quote was a good one. He questioned Phillips talent evaluation skills, I am sure Phillips got a little hot at that one but knew better than to get into a war of words.
  22. And Ozzie is a good manager for short-term results, but we will see about long term. He gives Ozzie credit, and follows up with "but...", he has done that a few times.
  23. He likes the Twins to win the division, wonders if the Sox have enough to win the wild-card. Tool.
  24. Steve Phillips back on right now, questioning the offense.
