  1. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 02:56 PM) I'll have your stats and eat them too... Back in the early part of the year, ESPN took a look at a few of these categories in their "Hot stove heaters" feature. Some of the things they looked at were most pitches per at bat, fewest strikes taken as called strikes, etc. Uribe appears on none of them. So he's somewhere lost in the pack. A.J. and Dye get their names on a couple of the lists, if you're interested. I bet DJ fed me that stat.
  2. I now appreciate Chris Berman that much more.
  3. i think one of the ESPN broadcasts brought that stat up. I wouldnt even know where to find a stat like that.
  4. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 01:31 PM) Havent herd that before.....seriosuly Uribe needs to slow the f*** down and look at a few pitches Doesnt Uribe lead the league in the strangest stat ever, most pitches seen per at-bat? I think he averages an obscene number of pitches every at-bat. The only problem is that he is swinging at most of them...
  5. Im going to guess Contreras goes 8 strong innings with 3 or fewer runs. I think he will dominate tonite.
  6. QUOTE(Finkelstein @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 08:25 AM) If we win today, I predict Timo gets the ball in game 3. LOL. I heard he featured a nasty curveball in Japan. When he wasnt playing first base.
  7. QUOTE(kman @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 08:29 AM) yes hopefuly b.k kim will get lit up today, but our hitters seem to be dominated by unfamiliar faces. Didnt the Sox face Kim once or twice when he was in the Boston rotation?
  8. i wouldnt mind Howry. He seems to have his velocity back.
  9. Nice of Comcast to send out the broadcast with a Cubs exit line.
  10. Shingo is learning the importance of fastball location this year. Noone really knew what to expect from him last year except a whole bunch of junk. Now that the book is out on him, he is having to figure out how to use his fastball to set up his junk. It is almost hurting his offspeed pitches though, because he isnt throwing them as much, and he isnt having the good location because of it. I think he is starting to get it though. He needs a couple more outings like the one he had tonite, sans the leadoff walk.
  11. Man, Tadahito is really lost out there with the bat tonite. He must be homer happy right now, and trying to pick up a quick few at Coors.
  12. Milkman wins. Sircaffey is irked, as am I f***in Timo. dammit.
  13. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 10:26 PM) 103 only 14 pitches in that inning? WOW
  14. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 10:26 PM) Freddy made that last guy look like a complete ass. Anyone got the pitch count? he started off the inning at 89, he should be right around 110.
  15. I think Garcia should get the at-bat now. He looks awesome.
  16. Anyone think Thomas leads off the ninth inning?
  17. All I am thinking the next three days is "Go Arizona Diamondbacks Go"
  18. Freddy has taken his game to another level right now. A 2 hitter through 7 innings in Coors field is really impressive. I would run Freddy out there in the eighth to see what he has got, then let him finish if he mows them down again. Shingo and Viz dont need work that bad, IMO, Freddy deserves the complete game.
  19. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 10:03 PM) They might have. Konerko's homer was with 2 outs, then all those runs in the other inning I think were 2 outs, too. How about that third run after Garcia gave up the 3-run homer? Does a run count as a run scored with two outs, if the second out was made and you score after tagging the bag? *edit after a brainfart
  20. have all nine of these runs come with 2 outs?
  21. it was a reverse jinx, milkman. it worked.
  22. Tadahito is in a funk right now. He wasnt picking up Joe Kennedy at all earlier. It seems like he is pulling off the ball alot right now. Garcia is in absolute cruise control.
  23. Anyone notice Hawks thinly vieled jab at Joe Borchard when they were talking about drafting baseball players instead of athletes?
  24. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 07:18 PM) Definitely hope she's ok. Coach Lowery at SIU goes through a similar thing and it must be brutal. Awkward seque but any chance the big man plays first tonight? Another Saluki fan on the board? Fantastic!
  25. Jesus, what hasnt happened to the Rockies in the last 4 hours? They lost their ROY candidate and their coach.
