  1. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) But that's a lot better than having a guy like Diaz come up and do what he did last year...bad games almost every time. except.....against the cubs
  2. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) And even if he ends up going .500, just like he did against the Cubs and Rangers, that'll be a lot better than what we saw last year from our 5th starter spot. McCarthy got one loss and a ND? He was on the hook for both of the runners on base when Dubois hit the homerun. Sox lost both games
  3. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 05:00 PM) One question - who do you think will trade for Kendall if the As do go on a firesale? He is making tons of $ too and I doubt Beane keeps him around while rebuilding.... Thoughts? I think Beane is probably going to realize that Kendall is just as unmovable in Oakland as he was in Pittsburgh. Its gonna take alot to get him off their hands, given his position, declining BA, questionable health, etc.
  4. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 04:44 PM) It could be enough to run them out of town. I disagree with this, only because the A's arent a big draw anyways. Chavez doesnt pack them in any more just because he is in the lineup. The A's have a hard time getting anyone in the stadium during the playoffs, much less the regular season.
  5. Would the White Sox be dumb if the goal of winning a championship was completed?
  6. I am watching the Twins/Indians game on MLB gamecast, and the game is stopped again for an injury delay. Does anyone know whats up?
  7. No love here, Marsh. Usually 1st round picks are protected for a little while, I was wondering out loud.
  8. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...ic=34558&st=390 Daa84 has her pic
  9. QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:57 PM) lol i can't believe this got nine replies. but who is lisa dergen? Scott Podsedniks girlfriend/model/NFL sideline reporter. Someone here has her pic under their name
  10. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:53 PM) I'd rather have Chavez than Abreu. Chavez plays a tougher position where we have a definite hole offensively. Abreu is 31 years old, Chavez is only 27. Also, we have Brian Anderson and Ryan Sweeney performing well in the minors while Josh Fields is struggling. A 3rd baseman is more of a need than an outfielder. Just a thought, does trading for Chavez make Fields expendable in the near future??
  11. is fast bad? Lisa Dergen + Eva Longoria + the pool that Lisa Dergen is coming out of - clothes + me. There. all questions answered without talking about the topic
  12. QUOTE(sayitanitso @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:33 PM) He said he would still be with the A's at the All-Star Break. even if he knew he was gonna be traded, i doubt he would say it.
  13. QUOTE(ISF @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:17 PM) OK.....Chavez is secretly engaged to one of the Olsen twins thats gross man. Yuck, i still dont understand the fascination with those skeletons
  14. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) This article is from today (June 2nd) so I'm not sure that's possible. Me fail English? Thats unpossible! Its possible, probably, and true. Its in there, I also commented earlier on the Arlington Heights Daily Herald name.
  15. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:01 PM) There was never any articles backing up the rumor though. that article is trapped in those 31 pages somewhere.
  16. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 01:58 PM) Punto just went down with some sort of hamstring injury. Too bad he hit that 2-run homer first. damn, those guys are dropping like flies on a twinkie
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 01:51 PM) Stolen from an ESPN.com chat: "News: Justin Morneau was removed in the 5th inning of Thursday's game against Cleveland with a left elbow strain. He was replaced by Matt LeCroy.Analysis: Morneau will be re-evaluated after the game. The extent of his injury is unknown at this time." If he was plunked, i dont think they would call it a strain. I think it would be called a bruise. Strain sounds to me like he landed on it funny.
  18. QUOTE(sayitanitso @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 01:20 PM) I dont know if anyone cares, but Dan Patrick will be talking Eric Chavez soon on the Dan Patrick Show on ESPN 1000. He didn't say when but I think it will be on between now and the next 30 minutes. I don't know what they will be talking about, but there might be something in their segment regarding a trade involving him. Im at work now, keep me updated
  19. QUOTE(ISF @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 11:59 AM) You need a live chicken and a shot of rum... KFC wont work?
  20. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 12:00 PM) Why? Sox payroll has gone up $25 million in two years, or 50%. Where does the payroll stand right now?
  21. QUOTE(southsider17 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 11:52 AM) Alot more varying opinions. More hard baseball talk ..... obviously because there are alot more posters. Dont get me wrong, I like posting on WXing. But when it became a pay site it was hard to jump on the game discussions and even harder to argue your point for a period of time. I still put my 2 cents in when it applies
  22. QUOTE(daa84 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 11:51 AM) Go back a few pages, i copied what buster olney had written about it Everytime I look at your picture, i think to myself "Pods is the luckiest SOB on the Sox. " Holy cow Lisa Dergen is smokin hot
  23. QUOTE(southsider17 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) He definitely likes to get a jump on things like this. After reading thru all these posts I've changed my mind on including BMac in a Chavez trade. Considering how our "stocked" minor leagues have fallen on their face with all the supposed pitching talent we had down there earlier this decade, maybe Kenny has decided that the best use of pitching prospects is to get proven MLB talent. I hope it works for him. BTW, Kyyle ........ 119 posts already? You hit the ground running! LOL, the 10 post limit on WorldXing was constricting my brain flow. The table talk on this site is really fun to me.
