  1. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 31, 2005 -> 05:02 PM) And Cruddy is so much better defensively that we have to deal with his craptacular bat of despair. I think Randa and his superior fielding percentage and Zone rating would be ok as a replacement. Shame on you for talking about the actual discussion. I just dont know how you can live with yourself.
  2. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 31, 2005 -> 04:54 PM) When it comes to defense i realized people look at errors and nothing but errors. My response was based more on "Top SS", not "Top Defensive SS". I would have had a vastly different answer if I am considering defense only. First and Foremost I would have Vizquel as my top defensive SS. He may have lost some range due to old age(although it isnt much of a dropoff), but he is still as sure-handed as anyone.
  3. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 31, 2005 -> 04:44 PM) Lol @ of jeter. Now talk about a butcher cheesus lice. If he was such a butcher, I dont think he would have 4 rings. He makes the plays he needs to, doesnt kill himself with errors. If Jeter was on any other team than the Yankees, I would really like him. Hell, I still like watching him play. He certainly doesnt make excuses, and he still plays the game hard.
  4. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ May 31, 2005 -> 04:40 PM) Still waiting for my answers. You arent going agree with/like the answers you get. Your best bet is to hold your breath and wait.
  5. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 31, 2005 -> 04:38 PM) hell yes I agree. I just love your pic and had to comment on it. Actually, I didnt read it that hard. I would say top 10, but not top 3. There is a third baseman in new york who is better than most of the SS in the league. Then you have Tejada, Jeter, Cabrera and a few others that could make the choice really hard.
  6. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 31, 2005 -> 04:37 PM) Damn straight. Do you agree or no? hell yes I agree. I just love your pic and had to comment on it.
  7. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 31, 2005 -> 04:35 PM) Juan is a top 3 defensive SS in baseball. John Rockers mullet has spoken....
  8. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ May 31, 2005 -> 03:57 PM) Thats funny because my wife was yelling at me for going beserk after the Sox lost the lead...she was like hell you act like your favorite pet or a close family member just died... its a friggin game... get over it... then of course they win and I really looked like an ass...big shock there of course though!! Our wives must be related, Jester.
  9. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 31, 2005 -> 03:43 PM) get used to it, the next 0-4 game that anyone has will bring about more trade threads than you could possibly imagine. I, for one, am trying to stay positive through everything, and as much as yesterday pissed me off, I saw lots of good things. I agree Rock, most important thing I saw was the fan support. It is always really nice to see that park full and rocking( I wish I saw it that way from a seat). The team seemed like they had a spark yesterday, despite the problems scoring.
  10. QUOTE(ISF @ May 31, 2005 -> 03:36 PM) Related argument, someone just deleted a trade topic regarding Houston. I don't see anything wrong with that topic, Houston may well be a seller. Ensberg would be an intriguing guy, although a downgrade defensively. I think it was the suggestion that BMac could bring Lidge, Oswalt, or even Ensberg to the Sox that got the thread deleted. The thread came off a little "Why dont we trade BMAC for whomever we want", and it irritated everyones aggravating baby rash today. Imagine the vitriol being spouted had the Sox lost?
  11. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ May 31, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) Well there is another thread discussing whether this was the case or if Ozzie was misunderstood and was referring to Herm Schneider saying Frank couldn't go. Have you talked to Dustin? According to Carmen and Silvy this morning, Ozzie was referring to Herm Schneider as "Hermy" and not Dustin Hermanson. The quote can be interpreted both ways, as Ozzie said "I talked to hermy and he said he was tight and couldnt go". After hermanson warmed up, he was shown on the bullpen mound waiting, so it never appeared to me that he wasnt ready to go.
  12. QUOTE(Wanne @ May 27, 2005 -> 02:30 PM) I've been as anxious as anybody to get Frank back into the lineup...but these numbers don't do much for my chubby. I'm trying not to read too much into this and I realize he's just getting back into it...but... Rehab to date (10 games): 6-for-33 (.182) with four walks, seven strikeouts, one double, two runs and one RBI. Honestly, i dont expect much better. he hasnt played in about a year, hasnt run in about a year, his injured leg atrophied from lack of excercise. Thomas has a big uphill battle ahead of him. I think in his mind he wants to see Major league pitching to get his timing back.
  13. Jack practically carried the broadcast. I thought he was better than DJ last night. He was insightful, questioned bad decisions(like McPhersons pitch), talked about his past, and made me laugh. His line "I dont know much about planes, but the wing is on fire." had me laughing. Too bad we couldnt switch out DJ for blackjack some more.
  14. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ May 26, 2005 -> 05:22 PM) Why do I get the feeling that even if we got all the guys he wanted, Anthrax would still find a way to hate Kenny? Its not a feeling. Its the truth.
  15. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ May 26, 2005 -> 04:27 PM) Carlton chose who "his" team and who "his" fans were when he chose which cap he wore into the hall of fame. I don't think it's too far-fetched to feel betrayed by that decision. Is he that vindictive that he needs to punish an entire city for the actions of an asenine owner? Uh, okay. I'm done. Wait a second, Carlton Fisk never once punished the White Sox fans. You are acting as if he did this to deliberately upset the White Sox fans. This is not the case. Fisk knows White Sox fans love him. Going into the HOF as a member of the Red Sox doesnt mean he is s***ting on White Sox fans, he isnt turning his back on us. He is choosing not to give Jerry Reinsdorf the satisfaction of saying "I got Carlton Fisk into the hall of fame." I cannot blame him for that. Fisk has made a few appearances in Chicago and I think I saw him on tv last year at a Sox game. He does what he can. Let it go.
  16. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ May 26, 2005 -> 02:23 PM) I felt he disowned us when he went into the Hall of Fame as a Red Sox. I kind of resent him for that, and whenever someone asks me to make an "all-time" list or list my 5 favorite players, I always leave him off intentionally. I know I'll probably get lynched for this POV, but anyone else feel like he took out his battle with mgmt on the fans? Didn't he have more tick and play more games in Chicago overall? Imagine how Fisk felt when the Sox dumped him on his ass with no warning? I loved Fisk, and he was great for the organization. But try and think of the most memorable Fisk moment ever, and you would be hard-pressed to not remember him in a Red Sox uniform hitting his famous homerun.
  17. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 26, 2005 -> 02:15 PM) wow, this thread quieted down in a hurry Logic reigns supreme?
  18. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ May 26, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) You seem to think our 33 and 14 start has everything to do with our manager and nothing to do with the GM, so in your logic, this is possible. LOL
  19. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 26, 2005 -> 02:02 PM) 1. Yes 2. Yes Also.. Not only am I a SoxTalk poster I am also a Gott, to bad they don't exist. really? Where?
  20. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ May 26, 2005 -> 01:58 PM) For some reason I find it hard to believe that Roger would have ever signed with the Chicago White Sox Actually, there was strong interest in the Clemens camp. Shueler nixed it because he thought Clemens was done. Clemens went on to Toronto on the cheap and the rest is history.
  21. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 26, 2005 -> 01:57 PM) Was our current GM a GM before? Do you have to be a GM to get a GM job? I can play that game too. Did i say that you said the Sox were getting Shuerholz? Did i say that you said you have to be a GM to get a GM job?
  22. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 26, 2005 -> 01:52 PM) Where did I say in my post that I thought we would get Scheurholtz? you didnt. You inferred that someone (anyone) in Atlanta's upper management was waiting to be scooped up by the Sox. Shuerholz is the only GM they have had there for the past 15 years..... the dots were connected. I love it when you make a statement and back off of it three posts later.
  23. QUOTE(Princess Dye @ May 26, 2005 -> 01:46 PM) i dont remember him being any faster than 93-94 back then, right really? I could swear i remember him jumping into the 96-97 range, but I could be mistaken. I can always tell when Damaso is "on" when his left arm is whipping around after he pitches. He has taken his game up a notch in the past 3 weeks, thats for sure.
  24. QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ May 26, 2005 -> 01:45 PM) Anthrax- How can you say KW hasnt done a fine job.... Our minor league system is pretty solid and we have the best record in baseball.. If Frank& Mags didnt get hurt last we would have made the playoffs look at the thread "there is a trade brewing..." he says "KW hasnt done a fine job" a whole lot. he doesnt explain it outside of complaining that KW didnt sign his guys, but he says it alot.
  25. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 26, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) I say never had the sox had a good GM, If they were smart, we fire KW.. And look into Atlanta system to find our next GM, you don't win 13 straight DIV titles on luck. Gotta hand it to you Anthrax, you have all your players handpicked, and now you have your GM handpicked. Damn that reality for standing in the way..... :banghead
