  1. I honestly don’t care to hear the mccaskeys speaking about coaching hires so I’m totally fine with it
  2. Warren kisses a lot of ass. Over and over and over
  3. You have to remember here I’m not trying to convince you to feel the same way I do. This is just how I feel about. It sucks being right later when the Sox do the same stupid tired bullshit, but it is what it is
  4. Warren and Poles speak to the press around noon, then Thomas Brown
  5. Went back to look at coaching staffs from back when I was younger and really started paying attention to baseball, Joe Nossek, Walt Hriniak and Terry Bevington were carried through three coaching staffs (Nossek 4 because he made it through Bevington into Manuel’s staff). Then you look at Boston and Cooper and realize it’s just the same thing. It stinks. They never let anyone start fresh with their own staff
  6. Ambivalent. I think he is not set up for success and I don’t think he will reach it here given the circumstances. It’s gonna be a long road back to mediocrity much less competitive respectability, and a lot of people are gonna be in and out of the doors. I don’t have a lot of excitement for this organization right now and honestly they have made that real easy.
  7. You are free to believe that this organization will be doing the right things. I have learned my lesson
  8. I think it’s a big deal that it seems that the Sox are the only team in the league that tells prospective managers “we picked out your staff”. in isolation, yea Katz is fine he has some hits and misses. They just hired some of these guys last season so we don’t really know what they bring. But this isn’t in isolation, this is a regularly occurring thing for this ownership front office and frankly it sucks that these guys come in and they can’t even hire their own guys outside of a few positions. hope it works out for Venable, hasn’t really worked out for his predecessors save one
  9. Too bad McCaffrey can’t stay healthy. Dude is electric when he is not injured
  10. Totally agree. Because Warren will not get fired for this coaching hire, it would be Poles
  11. I wish Brian Flores didn’t torch his hiring possibilities because I would think he would be a good coach for the Bears too. I just don’t know that he will get that opportunity again because of what went down in Miami
  12. It definitely seems hard to believe. You would have to think the party wanting to go the most would be Shanahan. I don’t think it makes any sense for the 49ers to do this, but then again that is a winning, powerful, smart organization and I have never seen the Bears pull that off for more than a season.
  13. I feel like Shanahan might be available this offseason. I have read that 49ers front office is a little put off by him this season and they might want to part ways. Might be a perfect storm situation if it happens but I think Bears should be open to it
  14. I don’t like this for many reasons. Publicly taking over and taking away a HC search like this from a guy that you did not hire is bad news for Poles. And it really casts a shadow going forward
  15. I’m also of this mindset, but you can already hear it making its way into sports talk and print. People are talking themselves into it already
  16. I think the not caring about “which side of the ball the next coach comes from” is to address candidates like Vrabel and Rivera, who are both defensive head coaches, however the both of them presumably would know how to handle setting up the offensive side for success due to their history. To me, Brown will have to look extra special to get this job. The final run of this season would have to be undeniably special and he would need to be the reason for it. There will be many good candidates available soon, staying in house for some stupid continuity s%*# is exactly how we got here.
  17. It’s hard for me to understand why he continued to double down on the errors as if the thought process was always correct it was just the performance that messed it up. He would kind of waffle and say “well I’m the head coach so it’s on me” but it was like a last second mea culpa every time he would say it, and it never meant anything because we never actually saw accountability.
  18. I advise everyone to go to the first page of this thread and look at all of our reactions to game 1, lol
  19. He had a zoom press conference at 9 am, and said he plans on being on the sideline against the 49ers
  20. BARES LMAO Flus lives at least one more day
