My buddy is going on a cruise today and had to be in Florida by 2pm or lose the cruise. Thursday night his wife started panicking they were going to have their flights cancelled so he just said f*** it and they rented a car and drove to Indy that night instead of taking their morning flight and then drove the rest of the way south yesterday and that was probably the smartest thing he could have done

Well, we are at the beginning of what appears to be a large snow dump today, my area(mchenry county) is looking at 8-15 inches of snow followed by sub zero for a week, so that’s fun hope everyone stays safe, happy shoveling/snowblowing/paying someone else to do it

Well if they stick with him, maybe we can see that jump and we can chalk up the first year to a redshirt season under Nagy. Staying healthy would be paramount for that jump though -

No, they are pretty similar to Allen’s second year. -

While I am no New England fan, I was in the building when Brady and Belicheck won the first title so I do have a soft spot for them. What an incredible run that none of us are likely to ever see again -

Pretty sure DBBs source was super close to if not was Ted Phillips. Since he retired, has DBB stayed pretty on point? -
See you are predicting cancel culture and complaining about it. I’m out right here, the guy got his just desserts and is living his life doing exactly what he did before albeit on a lower level and I have nothing else to add except he did this to himself. If you want to worry about the ghost of cancel culture not allowing you to be your worst self then you got bigger problem imo
-
Dude if you think people bitching in a board is cancel culture I don’t know what to say anymore to you. Fans can say anything they want, there is no organized function out there trying to keep him unemployed, and if there were he wouldn’t be calling games still

Sure, the Brennamen brigade certainly has done its rounds we all have heard them loud and clear

What outside pressure? You think there are people that are campaigning to make sure he isn’t hired or is it more likely that the entire league saw one of the highest profile announcers go off script in the worst possible way, get rightfully fired, and say “I want no part of that”? like come on man, the risk in pissing off a portion of your fanbase for hiring a bigot is not to be ignored and teams understand nowadays that they can’t just sweep that under the rug
-
This isn’t cancel culture. This is got caught on a hot mic saying reprehensible s%*# and fired for it culture. Again, nobody owes him a job, and if they want to hire him they can

Was surprised myself, but then saw a little context from the owner and it makes a bit more sense. Still, he should have gotten a QB after they knew Tannhehil wasn’t gonna be the guy -
He isn’t owed a job. If I said what he said at my job, I would expect to be fired and not be brought back ever. Teams are free to hire whoever they want but Thom now brings a HR issue with him. He said it now he has to live with it.

Flus had not only on the field strategy gaffes over two seasons but his two personnel “things” this year should have gotten him fired. People want to be like “but wait look how great the defense did when he took over” but you know what? We KNEW he was a good DC, and we didn’t know if he was a good HC. That isn’t a feather in his cap for me, that’s scrambling to save face. i get it, you are old school in this town and you have seen how the sausage is made closer than I have. But I don’t think anything this guy has done up til now has shown me that he has what it takes to be a good head coach in this town, totally the opposite in fact -

He did manage to create one of the best memes of the last decade so I guess there is that

“Screwed up and said something he shouldn’t have” LMAO lip he called an unidentified location the f** capital of the world. He didn’t slip up words, he said something with his full chest and didn’t expect the mic in his fucking hand to be recording. super disappointing take from you

The level of accountability is NFL. That’s it. I don’t even really know what you are asking, nobody can project exactly when a player becomes elite. Do you feel like Williams will somehow evade accountability? -

Honestly wouldn’t put Leatherwood in the miss category. They claimed him in his rookie deal to see if he could find what made him special, and cut him when they found out he wasn’t worth the trouble. Last season those kind of claims were ok imo. Claypool was bad because of the asset -

Ok, however you want to zoom out, this season or his entire career, one final game is in fact immaterial by itself in judging what you are about to do -

It is immaterial in that it should not be the deciding factor in Justin’s continued career with the bears. His entire career should be the evidence not the final game
