  1. Seemed like he might have been safe to me. Toby didn't apply the tag until Ichiro was by him and touching the plate.
  2. Man, I have no idea how Dotel's velocity is that good. It seems so slow coming out of his hand... mid 80's and then I look at the radar and it's 92-93.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ May 10, 2008 -> 10:00 PM) No chance, not with the way Javy lost his arm slot and his history of 6th inning disaster. Good job Dotel! Well, my thinking was if your ace can't get through 6 innings against the Mariners lineup then you don't really deserve to win anyway. But his history of 6th inning disaster hasn't come up since 2006 so I really have no idea why you're acting like it's some common occurence.
  4. I am of the minority, I guess, but I'd rather have Javy keep pitching. I don't like Dotel in this situation.
  5. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 10, 2008 -> 09:25 PM) I like the offense tonight. Its amazing, the minute this club gets into a big park they stop with the softball nonsense. I have to give you credit for that prognostication. I think we had 3 oppo hits last night which is more than we'd have in any 2 week stretch of the season.
  6. Sac fly by Dye to CF. My heart stopped with Thome running but the throw wasn't very accurate.
  7. Beautiful hitting by Paulie. Opposite filed double. 2-0 Sox.
  8. Bases loaded for Konerko. Don't embarass yourself here Paulie.
  9. Man on 3rd and 0 out and he doesn't score for the M's. Playing a team that executes like the Sox is fun.
  10. I love the hustle by Uribe. With that said, I think that's the 3rd time today and 6th or 7th time this series where we had to execute some situational hitting and we failed misreably.
  11. This is terrible. Can we stop treating Linebrink like he's Mariano Rivera?
  12. Umm... next inning better be Thornton's not Linebrink's.
  13. I wish somebody in our org would have the balls to confront Paulie on last inning's AB. That was the shining example of why this team can't hit.
  14. Should have scored 2. Had to have 1. We got 0.
  15. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 8, 2008 -> 09:56 AM) So my question, Brian Anderson doesnt get into last nights blow out. He isn't be used as a defensive replacement. And can't make the getaway lineup. Why is he on this team again. He PH for Thome last night.
  16. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ May 7, 2008 -> 10:47 PM) it's the players responsibility to take that coaching to their at bats, which they don't seem to be doing. that's the players at fault, not the hitting coach. If that is the case, then no coach anywhere should be fired at any point.
  17. How do you guys think the Sox evaluate Greg Walker at his job performance? I am being serious here... what do you think they look at that makes them think he's an asset to the team? I can't even imagine there being another pitching/hitting coach, given the talent he has to work with, that has done a worse job than Greg Walker.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2008 -> 09:33 PM) Can some stat person figure out Crede's numbers since the Joba walkoff? 4-for-26. two 2b, one HR. 3 bb. 4 ks.
  19. I've seen enough to know this game is over. Another pathetic night.
