  1. Good job by Vazquez not folding despite going over 75 pitches. I'm still terrified with every pitch but at least he's done the job.
  2. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 07:42 PM) The Twins already have won tonight and we already have lost. Funny thing is neither game is officially over. We play Tampa, KC, and a pathetic Boston team and actually lose ground in that stretch. Gotta love us.
  3. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 07:39 PM) Dude, he freaking killed the ball on that play. Just right at the 3rd baseman. So what? Why couldn't he the opposite way or up the middle?
  4. Why is Crede pulling that ball. What an idiot. We have the lowest hitting IQ in the league.
  5. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 07:34 PM) 62 pitches doesn't sound ridiculous to anyone else right now? Not only is this guy shutting us down, he's doing it easily and preventing us from getting into the Red Sox bullpen AND keeping them rested for tomorrow. When you realize Tavarez had thrown 30 less pitches than Garland through 6 innings last night, you don't really get that surprised at anything.
  6. QUOTE(daa84 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 07:29 PM) pierzynski is as much to blame as any player....hes been horrific in the second half I can take a player failing because they're not very good. I can't f***ing watch as Pierzynski completely changes his approach from what was succesful in the first half. How is he that f***ing stupid? Although Pods is just as bad right now, I don't get anywhere as angry watching him.
  7. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 07:23 PM) You are soooo off base. If you see your manager is uncomfortable playing an underachieving rookie, and instead plays a s***ty defensive backup at CF, then it's your job to get him a good backup CF. If you see your team is lacking a right-handed hitting backup OF, then you better get your team a good back-up OF. If you see you have a better starting pitcher rotting away on the bench, then you better own up on an off-season mistake and trade one of your s***ty pitcher and give the spot to the guy rotting away on your bench.
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 07:22 PM) KW >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ozzie Guillen Not this year, no. Ozzie = Kenny.
  9. Javy at 71 pitches, 4 away from the magic mark. Strap it down for next inning.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 07:19 PM) So he'll leave, and take Cora and Garcia with him. With Ozzie as our manager, I have no doubt we'll keep Cora and Garcia on the team. KW and the players have just as much to do with this team losing as Ozzie.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 07:17 PM) We can only hope Ozzie snaps in the press soon and calls someone another derogatory name. Why do we want that?
  12. Konerko sucked, but Crede could have easily gotten a run home that inning. Greg Walker should be fired.
  13. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 07:08 PM) It's going to be like watching a car crash in action for the rest of the season. Don't worry, these guys are signed through next season.
  14. On one hand, I hate playing for one run against Boston at Fenway with Vazquez pitching, but with our offense right now each run is huge.
  15. Maybe we're counting on Ortiz being rusty? This game has last night's feel.
  16. Vazquez is approximately 30 pitches from reaching the critical point (i.e. the 75 pitch mark). That should get us through 4 innings.
  17. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 06:40 PM) well, maybe our starters are coming around, Vaz looks nasty. Yeah, he usually gets me excited in the first few innings but I should know better. I feel like the idiot kid who keeps putting his hand in the fire only to get burned every time. Brian Anderson should not hit 7th, Juan Uribe should not hit period.
  18. QUOTE(jkrem32 @ Sep 4, 2006 -> 09:52 PM) The "heart" of this team got "transplanted" to Philadelppphia I don't know about any of that, but right now the heart of our team seems to be Konerko and his "well, if we win or lose this series it's no big deal either way." That's barely a pulse. Also, what's the next "easy" team on our schedule that will make us forget this loss?
  19. QUOTE(Wealz @ Sep 4, 2006 -> 09:26 PM) You are king of the 20/20 hindsight brigade. Pierzynski's hitting .278 v. lefties. I agree. You don't pinch hit for AJ there. He's your starting catcher, and the last thing we need is old man Alomar behind the plate for the 9th. No, this game is on our pathetic approach and our closer.
  20. Jenks and the offense lost this game for us tonight. We are f***ing pathetic. Not even playing real teams and still getting our asses kicked. Clev, @Oak, @LAA stretch will have, at most, 3 wins.
