  1. Great fishing win tonight. We beat a good team with one of the league's best pitchers. Garland settled down, too. Doesn't get any better than that. We just need Thome to stay healthy.
  2. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 08:10 PM) One great thing Garland did tonight was not hang his head after the big homer in the first. It would have been very easy to become demoralized being down 3-0 against Halladay even with the Sox sporting their A team offense. He kept them at 3. I would never have guessed it. Yeah he did. I thought for sure he'd give up 5 runs by the 5th at that pace. A good start.
  3. I know Halladay has thrown 80 but Garland's already at 80 himself, and he's not even through the 4th.
  4. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 07:22 PM) Scores from around the league: Det down 2-1, NYY up 3-2, Bos down 2-1, Minny tied 0-0 By my count Det is down 4-0.
  5. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 06:32 PM) Face it people, we aren't a good team. Good teams don't have piece of spiff pitching staffs. Thats the bottom line. Then why in the world did we sit through the deadline with a thumb up our ass. We should have opened up a spot for McCarthy ASAP, instead we were holding out for a king's ransom for some spiffty starters.
  6. So we're back to having one decent starter. Great. I knew Garland was just on a hot streak there. Thanks Kenny for doing your job.
  7. I pray this will actually do something: http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 09:37 AM) I'd take anything, as long as it gets rid of him and puts McCarthy into the rotation. If someone would take him and his money (this goes for Vazquez, too), I'd take the most hopeless prospect they have in return. We should have just done that now. Only place Vazquez's trade value is going is down. No reason to wait and pee away this season.
  8. This next series will be interesting (as will the ones after it). We needed sweeps of the O's and Royals and couldn't do it, we're still playing pretty poorly with fundemental breakdowns each game, and our pitching still looks bad. Not improving this club over the deadline was beyond ridiculous.
  9. Maybe next start Garcia will start pitching up to his potential. Or perhaps the one after that. I know it's coming, we're only in August.
  10. I'm so glad Kenny made sure to have Garcia and Vazquez starting 2 out of every 5 days. Just a matter of time before these guys turn it on!
  11. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 09:29 PM) Let me guess.... Big Papi? It was a Loretta double with the bases loaded.
  12. Boston comes back to win it 6-5 in the 9th.
  13. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 10:19 PM) I know I'm alone on this one, but I love Gload. Not alone.
  14. Gload = best hitting approach on the team.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 10:08 PM) How about a balk, wild pitch, and then a sac fly?
  16. Pods is JD's protection in the lineup. LOL
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:42 PM) Getting X-rays is standard procedure. It's hard to break something where he got hit. Of course, what the hell do I know. I thought I had a cramp, and it ended up being appendicitis. Where exactly was Konerko hit?
  18. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:19 PM) They have scored more runs than anyone since June, along with doubles I believe. I would not call it "terrible" They may have one player that would start on the Sox (Dejesus). They're terrible.
  19. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:13 PM) Considering we were playing the leagues leading offense since late June.....i'll be pretty happy with it. Let's not go overboard here. There's only 2 players in today's lineup with an OPS over .800 for the month of July (Teahen and Grudz). It's a terrible lineup.
  20. MacDougal is like a shiny new toy. Fun to watch pitch, for the time being anyway.
  21. Memo to White Sox pitching, Esteban German is not Babe Ruth. There's no reason for him to get walked once, much less twice, in a game.
  22. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:07 PM) Its started off like Buerhle was going to get hammered again tonight, but he really picked it up. Another start like tonight and he may be back to normal. Yeah, it was very nice start. It's hard to get excited though given who we're playing.
