  1. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:23 PM) The Braves are 5 1/2 out of the wild card. 1 game farther out than the White Sox will be behind Detroit after the Tigers beat up KC again today. Jones isn't available. There's more than 5 teams in between the Braves and the wild card team though.
  2. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:18 PM) So....we're gonna sell off the farm for Andruw Jones? Well, if they're asking for the farm then no. If they want Josh Fields or Anderson, I'd give it to them.
  3. QUOTE(Reddy @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:17 PM) no Javy and BMAC put in the rotation IS an upgrade. if you can get Flash for Javy our pitching is heavily improved True. But is that a certainty to happen? Sounds like we have to get the "right" deal.
  4. QUOTE(quickman @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:14 PM) you mean win or just get closer? I really don't care unless they win. But man I am so looking forward to andersen getting over 200. Its like when George Brett was chasing 400. same feeling.
  5. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:14 PM) Brian Anderson is not the problem with this team....it's the starting rotation. Why give up young talent for something that isn't a HUGE concern. If Anderson hits .200-.220 I'll be ecstatic, especially with how he started. I agree with you. But there's a good chance we might not be able to upgrade our rotation. If that's the case, I think we should improve other parts of the team. So it goes to reason that a CF who hits .270 with 35-40 bombs would be an upgrade over Anderson.
  6. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:07 PM) Frankensteiner.....why do we need a new CF? Enlighten us. July hot streak or not, Brian Anderson is still the least productive hitter in our lineup. Furthermore, if this team doesn't acquire pitching, we're going to have to outslug teams. Andruw Jones would be a great addition especially with my expectation that the rest of the hitters won't continue on their pace. If Anderson keeps hitting like this for the rest of the season, I'm obviously wrong. But I don't think he will.
  7. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:06 PM) Nope, perfect. Then maybe you should stop with the comments next time?
  8. QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:06 PM) it just looks like he was looking for excuses to stay interested in the game. He won't get anyone here trying to talk him into watching the rest of the game. Yes, you read me like a book.
  9. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:03 PM) Is there a problem? You're the one getting all hot and bothered, appearantly.
  10. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:01 PM) Or his 346 average this month, and the fact he looks like the only one with a plan at times. That still puts him behind Dye and Thome for the month.
  11. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 02:00 PM) No, you shouldn't. Leave. Snarky comments from a mod. Nice.
  12. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 01:58 PM) Yup. let's send down our best hitter right now. What metric are you using to come to that conclusion? Gut feeling?
  13. So wait, should I even care because Ozzie looks like he doesn't with Ross Gload in the lineup.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 01:56 PM) I despised the comments from people about the Tigers not being able to beat good teams. or Soriano Me too. They were absolutely retarded. They're done now though, with the Sox looking like world beaters and all.
  15. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 01:55 PM) Love to see him get to around .215, .220 by Aug. Hopefully in the minors.
  16. 1-4 against the Yankees and Red Sox now. I think the Tigers at least won 2 games. But remember, the Tigers suck!
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 01:35 PM) Where did you see this? http://foxsports.foxnews.com/mlb/story/5782994
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 01:32 PM) I know you've been saying we need to add another starter. While I admire your passion about doing this, it's very unlikely. Well, KW supposedly did call the Marlins about Willis so it sounds he sees the problem and isn't content with our overpriced crap.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 01:29 PM) I don't buy the tired excuse at all. Especially coming off of the all-star break. As I've said all year, with the money we have invested in these 5 guys, if they continue to underachieve, we don't deserve to make the playoffs. That's stupid. Make improvements no matter how much money we've got invested in the starters. Standing by while watching this mess is retarded.
  20. QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 01:27 PM) A deeper pen would be a better option So Ozzie can go to the bullpen in the 5th after it's already 4-0?
  21. Kenny Williams needs to get on the phone and get us a solid starter. Call Atlanta, Florida, the Giants, anyone, but please to god just get us another good starter because this staff isn't winning s***. At this point, not only do we need McCarthy to step in here for Garcia/Vaz, but also another arm.
