    Marte

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 31, 2005 -> 10:01 PM) Marte has been pitching pretty much lights out as of late. Politte the same. On a sidenote, I think Takatsu will be the next person sent to the minors. I think it's the ESPN syndrome. Everytime he appears on ESPN, Damaso gets rocked and walks in a run, usually, the winning or go-a-head run. After that, it seems to take a few more games of getting his lunch eaten until the suck washes off. It's feast or famine with this guy. I love his stuff when he's on and his energy is awesome. There's nothing like seeing him fly off the mound pumping his fist after a big K. But when he's off... He just plain SUCKS. Shingo to the minors? Too much money at stake for that. If KROCH never got sent to the minors, Shingo won't either. We're just gonna have to deal... or deal him. But who's gonna take him. Maybe it's time to head back to Japan to pad those record numbers. Personally I'd love to see him figure it out here. CLIFFY'S ON GODDAMNED FIRE... Couldn't be happier with how that turned out. Here's hoping he can keep it up.
  2. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/base...g.ap/index.html A link to the early returns from ALLSTAR VOTING. Frank's 5th as a DH. Way to go big man... Giambi's 2nd. Are you kidding me?
  3. QUOTE(sayitanitso @ May 28, 2005 -> 11:17 AM) IMO, Willie should start at SS today. He has been doing well when he gets his oppourtunity to play. And could he possibly do as bad as uribe(from the hitting standpoint). Plan of attack for WILLIE: During BP tonight, I think Willie needs to do a few things to get Ozzie's attention. 1.) Hang around the cage muttering quietly in spanish jibberish. 2.) Take his cuts from the right side... Just like Juan. 3.) As a result of batting from the other side, it's likely that Willie will whiff at a lot of pitches and probably wind up falling clumsily to the ground on a number of big hacks... Just like Juan. This should be enough to trick Ozzie into thinking he's found someone who can fill Uribe's shoes. I'm out of state, and haven't been to the cell this year. Are they still using those player warning's about the rules of the stadium. Willie's was always my favorite. "Any fan caught entering the field of play..." Classic and so awkward. Go get em peapod.
  4. At the game Tues. night vs. the LAAofA's J.D. spent most of BP taking grounders at first. Don't know if they're just looking to get Pauly a day off, or if something is brewing.
  5. What's with the late start time? I thought this was supposed to be a getaway day. BRUTAL.
  6. QUOTE(credescrew24 @ May 24, 2005 -> 10:58 PM) hey where were u sitting at tonights game? a few sox fans were around me and i was just curious if u might be one of them....i was in right field in row N wearing a black thomas jersey....well get back to me! awsome game huh!!!!! I was at the game tonight too. Upper deck, behind home, first row. Surrounded by jackasses in red shirts. They heckled the crap out of Crazy Carl during his first at bat. As soon as he hit that ball I was on my feet screaming. He shut em up quick. 1.) some orange county meathead sitting behind me was talking about how US Cellular was such a crappy ballpark. Anyone at the game might have noticed that aside from the setup behind home and the fountain in center that shoots off after every batter, the cell and angels stadium are configured almost exactly the same. Nice work angels fans. 2.) los angeles angels my ass. I live in LA. It took me an hour and a half to get out to the park tonight. And that was in light traffic. Great victory tonight. Wish it could have been at our own crappy ballpark.
