  1. I would just like to add that A.J. called a great game last night and had that clutch double! Way to go, babe!!!! Garcia also had great control and to Shingo - hopefully this will give him a little more confidence! Way to go Sox!
  2. We need to put our best players on the field tonight and kick some Indian butt tonight!
  3. QUOTE(sec159row2 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 11:44 AM) I think the press is gonna start "baiting" ozzie, if they already haven't, just to create a story... especially come august/september if they are still on top... I think you are right and that goes for Don Cooper as well. I just heard an interview of Coop with Mike North (on Boers & Bernstein's show) where North was just hammering away at Coop about the pitching matchups. North would compliment him on the pitchers in general then drill him about the Marte matchups. Coop didn't lose it too bad, but you could tell he was not happy about the line of questioning.
  4. QUOTE(rudylaw @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 10:34 AM) I am the exact same way. I can not wear anything Whitesox during the game if I do it is an automatic lose. Not a hat, T-shirt, jersey, underwear or whatever. 2 years ago I went to about 20 sox games. Everytime I wore my Sox stuff they lost. Thank you for taking me seriously! I know some people think it is stupid to be superstitious but I can't help but think there is a connection! Anyway, I paid a lot of money for that jersey so I think I will just see if my priest will bless it. Think that will work?
  5. Ok - don't kill me on this cuz I know most of you do not believe in jinxes or superstitions but get this. I bought an A.J. Pierzynski jersey a few days ago. The first time I wore it AJ went yard but the Sox lost the game. I wrote that off as nothing. The next time I wear the jersey, the Sox can't do anything offensively, including AJ. So now I am thinking the jersey has something to do with it. Last night I did not put the jersey on until the bottom of the 3rd inning and, as we know, we did nothing. Then the top of the 4th was a hit parade for the Angels. I took the jersey off and the Sox came back. I didn't put the jersey back on until AJ was up and he struck out (I was hoping the homerun luck would return). So (sorry this so long) but I think the jersey is jinxed! I want to continue to wear it, but I don't want to be responsible for the Sox losing. Any suggestions to get rid of the jinx?
  6. Just wishing our White Sox a stellar night with a huge VICTORY!
  7. QUOTE(The Critic @ May 31, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) I actually don't like that one because, even though I get the idea of that commercial, it still comes off ( to me at least ) as telling people NOT to go to the game, but to listen to it in the car instead. I just don't think it's a good message to send, even unintentionally. I never thought of that way, but I guess everyone has their own interpretation. For instance, I like the Rowand commercials.
  8. I like the radio commercial about Podsednik being cute and guys shouldn't get outfield seats for the game with their girlfriends because of it. The announcer suggests seats behind home plate - but then you get to see A.J. bending over all game! If you asked me - those are the best seats in the house!
  9. QUOTE(Be Good @ May 27, 2005 -> 05:48 PM) Yeah I usally see them untill about 3 or so days after the new one comes out. I also looked online for someone way to order one thourgh the net and couldn't find any old ones. Well thanks for the tips, but unfortunately I couldn't find a copy anywhere. I guess I will just have to live with the images of A.J. in my head! Thanks again!
  10. QUOTE(Be Good @ May 27, 2005 -> 04:35 PM) I assume you want that issue because of the AJ article. Wow - you are quick! Do you think they will still have the old one out?
  11. I agree with you on the contact play in that situation, but Pods was safe.
  12. Thanks! I went to Borders on my lunchhour, but no luck. I probably won't be able to get a copy now though. I will check with BP.
  13. QUOTE(Steff @ May 27, 2005 -> 11:12 AM) Oh yea.. this years I believe will be done the weekend of 8/19 when the Yanks are in town. Cool! A group of us are doing a Patio Party that weekend, but I can't remember which date!
  14. I am looking for a copy of USA Today's Sports Weekly for 5/18-5/24 (used to be Baseball Weekly). Would you let me know if anyone has a copy or knows where I can get one? I tried USA Today's website, but I have to buy a year long subscription and I don't think that will go over too well at my house. Thanks in advance.
  15. QUOTE(nvxplorer @ May 27, 2005 -> 09:54 AM) I read yesterday that the Sox lead the AL against left handers - .299 I don't know how it breaks down by player (if someone knows where to look, I'd appreciate it). As mediocre and sometimes awful as the batters look out there, they hit lefties a ton. I guess this is to be expected with the abundance of right handed hitters, but I still find this stat to be very strange, considering the overall performance of the offense. Hey thanks for the reply. I guess I just don't get it! Anyway Hopefully we can turn it around tonight in Texas!
  16. QUOTE(bulokis @ May 27, 2005 -> 06:54 AM) We need a LH bat with power in the middle of the lineup. Everett is not gettin it done. Not to be too stupid here, but if Everett is hitting something like .400 right handed why in the hell is he batting left handed? I know pitching matchups and stuff, but when the game is on the line, wouldn't you rather take a chance on a bad matchup with a .400 hitter?
  17. I was so frustrated last night! I can't believe we can't hit anyone in when we have guys in scoring position. I blame this loss firmly on the (lack of) offense. As for the Count's pitch, I don't think A.J. would have called that pitch at that time (love you, A.J.). If he did, he certainly wouldn't have told him to put it right down the center of the plate! I think the Count just lost control of the pitch. I hope these guys take about 5 hours of batting practice today! P.S. Pablo Ozuna is one helluva utility guy! Left field, Short and 1st? I'm impresesed.
  18. I agree Carlton was wronged by the White Sox and as someone said earlier his most famous contribution to baseball was his homerun in the Red Sox uniform. He is my second favorite catcher of all time!
  19. Sorry to bring this back up again, but my Pierzynski jersey just arrived! One day earlier than I expected! GO SOX!!!!!!
  20. QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ May 26, 2005 -> 09:10 AM) what is it with some people's obsession for catchers i.e. Pierz and Ben Davis Why? What position do you play?
  21. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ May 26, 2005 -> 08:54 AM) Yea just ignore Jester...no one likes him anyway Welcome and I actually have a mancrush on AJ myself But the Widgenator has been most impressive in his rare appearances... I'll fight you for him! (just kidding!) I know Widger has looked good and that's why I think he'll go tonight, but I have been wrong before!
  22. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ May 26, 2005 -> 08:52 AM) I think we can deal with it...I was just giving ya chit is all....carry on Hey no problem! I can take a little chit for this crazy obsession!
