  1. Last week was very productive for my Tarheels, not only did they soundly whip archrival Duke, but they got what was expected from JP Tokoto with his commitment to UNC for 2013. Only real question was if Wisconsin had a shot to pry him away from the Heels. With Paige and Tokoto inked for 2013 I like the class so far, now they just have to get their big.
  2. I haven't been on in a while, what is your opinion about Marcus Paige, as the future point guard for my Tarheels. Seems like he is very solid, but needs to fill out a bit, and is not a ultra quick type like Felton/Lawson. Wondering what some of you guys more familiar with Iowa high school scene think about him.
  3. Angelo Chol looks to be a bit less likely for UNC, and big man shot blocker Desmond Hubert, who is a project with his limited offensive skills has been offered. Still some hope for Shabezz Muhammed, and Chol, but I don't think Carolina is the frontrunner for either at this point. Might end up with Goodwin & Hubert.
  4. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Nov 24, 2010 -> 01:11 AM) Yogi Ferrell to commit to IU Wednesday evening. How far behind may Gary Harris be? I think they have room for one more. I'm hearing a lot more about Harris to Michigan state.
  5. There is talk of James McAdoo taking 1 to 3 classes this summer which would allow him to graduate early. If he does this he would then decide if he wants play for the Heels or maybe just redshirt and develop in practice against the higher competition. In any event it looks like a distinct possibility that McAdoo will be at Chapel Hill a year earlier then expected. At 6'8 with his skills if he decides to come early I think he will be a instant factor this year!
  6. QUOTE (hogan873 @ May 28, 2010 -> 06:37 AM) Well, say the Bears (a cold weather team) and the Chargers (a warm weather team) end up in the Super Bowl. And said Super Bowl was being played in Foxboro. Based on many arguments here the Bears would have an unfair advantage. What if, however, two weeks before, the Chargers beat the Steelers in AFC championship game which was being played in Pittsburgh? I can see both sides of the argument, but I still think the Super Bowl should be played on occasion outside of Florida, California, or a dome. Yes, weather can be a factor in a game. But a snowy field or a wet field or a foggy field is going to affect both teams, not just the team that plays its home games in a dome or under the sun. They could always try to balance the playing field by having a guest referee by the name of Joe West. I remember the Chargers vs. Bengals in Cincinatti for the AFC championship game. -50 wind chill or something like that. Totally frozen field. It was a farce of a game with the frozen field, who would fumble the frozen ball first, slip and make the big mistake first, etc. San Diego had nobody to blame but theirself for not having a better record then Cincy and having to play in those conditions though. Now if that was the Super Bowl where the NFL chose Cincinatti as the venue then that would have been pure stupidity and totally unfair. The weather was THE most important factor in the game, as it eliminated most of the skills each team used all year to get to that game.
  7. QUOTE (JuiceCruz16 @ May 21, 2010 -> 08:20 AM) It's weird why all the covert movements. I saw where Shumpert mentioned with a big man hopeful on twitter, and Stor said hangin with his boy Justin. His Uncle and others around him have went out of their way to say Justin did not visit, and Hewitt does not acknowledge a visit. The guy who first reported Knox visit has backtracked now. Why all the covert movement if he went? Hell, if he stoped back by Tech I don't understand why they would deny it. Anyhow I guess he will decide by June. Knox did an interview with a Fayettevlle blogger and pretty much said that Carolina had him at hello once he got to Chapel Hill. After the visit and seeing the tradition and enviroment he was totally sold. Sounds similar to Harrison Barnes and the impression the on campus visit made on him. Hopefully Austin Rivers will have a similar experience when he takes his official visit, because right now Rivers seems a pretty heavy Duke lean.
  8. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ May 27, 2010 -> 07:34 AM) I dont see why its ok for the conference championship games to be in cold weather environment but not the Superbowl, so its ok for the 2nd most important games of the season to be in blizzards but not the most important The conference championships are played on the teams' field that EARNED home field advantage by their regular season record. The Super Bowl is a neutral site, and tries to be as neutral as possible with the weather conditions for that site.
  9. BOO! I don't like the decision at all. The Super Bowl does not go to a team who has earned home field, so I'm for giving the most chance of a warm climate to have the last standing teams do battle for the title.
  10. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ May 24, 2010 -> 08:30 PM) Knox decided on UNC. Very good news for UNC. He's not anything special, but providing 7 and 5 a game would be great for UNC this year. If UNC isn't a sweet 16 team this year I will be disappointed. He is a nice stopgap big body which is needed for this year. Plus it leaves the scholarship in place for a stud next. Good get for Roy. Glad he is coming in to help!!
  11. I know there were a few times that Kevin Garnett was accused of throwing up a Vice Lord sign ( the gang he was affiliated with while at Farraguat during his high school year in Chicago) after hitting a couple of game winning shots in the past (against the Hawks and the Knicks I think). Yesterday he CLEARLY flashed the Vice Lord rivals sign while "throwing down the "GD" pitchforks after hitting a jumper and getting fouled by Jameer Nelson. This happened a couple plays after his breif tussle with Dwight Howard that resulted in a tech on Garnett. He was clearly still upset, and after his basket and the foul being whistled on Nelson he struted toward half court and with both hands threw down his former rivals gang sign. Check it out if you DVR'd the game. I noticed it right away, but thought no way it must have been something else he was doing, but with the glory of the DVR I just rewinded and slow motioned his gesture while walking hard away from the foul, and it is CRYSTA CLEAR. I even paused it and took a picture with my cell phone off the TV. It can not be mistaken for anything else. If others caught this and bring it to the attention of the league I'm sure a fine will follow. As I recall Paul Peirce got in trouble and a fine for throwing up a Blood sign at Al Horrford after a slight altercation in a game a while ago that David Stern commented on. I just found it hilarious that the millionaire KG still reverts to his former gang allegence when angered with a confrontation. Check it out if you have the clip or google/ you tube Garnett/vice lords etc. IT WAS CLEARLY GANG SIGNS being flashed by Garnett on the court during the Eastern Conference finals.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2010 -> 05:55 PM) And his uncle is 100% wrong. I don't know who's paying him to say what he is, but three different GT players posted on their twitter accounts yesterday how they were hanging out with Knox. I agree it's funny he's getting this much attention, as he's a very mediocre player. It's weird why all the covert movements.
  13. Livestrong Lance, Livestrong. LOL the guy is clearly a doper like all of the rest of them in worldclass biking, but you go ahead and Livestrong Lance! Landis just got busted, Armstrong is no different, he's worse for that livestrong campaign he kicked while knowing he is a doper as well.
  14. QUOTE (JuiceCruz16 @ May 20, 2010 -> 08:21 AM) There are reports that Shumpert and he were at Ga. Tech for 2 days, while others are saying that wasn't true. His Uncle did report that they were cancelling and headed back to Alabama. In any event it seems like he will have a press conference today at 2 p.m. Should be interesting, a lot of attention for a 1 year transfer. Well Knox's uncle has spoken to the rumors. He confirmed that Knox was not at Ga. Tech this weekend as some reported, but said that Knox will not make a commitment at his press comference today either. He is reported as saying earlier that Carolina is the favorite after his vist to Chapel Hill for whatever that's worth. This is getting hilarious he has 1 freakin year of eligibility left and only averaged like 5 points and 3 rebounds for Alabama last year.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 19, 2010 -> 03:01 PM) That's not true now, as Knox was at GT with Iman Shumpert last night. There are reports that Shumpert and he were at Ga. Tech for 2 days, while others are saying that wasn't true. His Uncle did report that they were cancelling and headed back to Alabama. In any event it seems like he will have a press conference today at 2 p.m. Should be interesting, a lot of attention for a 1 year transfer.
