  1. ^I'd like a league like that with 12 teams. OM has returned to the south side!!!
  2. Yesterday, when I was listening to Baseball 365, they said that Prior's agent stated in the newspaper that Prior was never even included in this talk for Tejada.
  3. Interesting. I'm still suprised that Tampa had all those guys rumored to be traded for so long, even after Chuck LaMar was let go.
  4. They will probably come back in a couple of years and be damn good like they were in 03. Haha...They win and then a couple of years later they got to move their players because of issues surrounding the organization.
  5. I agree. The Cubs wont give them Zambrano and Pie so a deal won't happen there unless one of the sides gets desperate. I say Tejada stays in Baltimore.
  6. Talk seems to have shifted from Chicago to Boston. I saw it a while ago on ESPNNEWS, Boston had offered Manny for Tejada straight up but now they have included Clement in the offer. The contracts of Manny and Clement are 20 mil apart from Tejada. I don't see that happening and if it did Boston would have to eat alot of the money. Plus, they are in the same division. Just figured I'd post that.
  7. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 04:15 PM) Everytime I see Miguel Olivo join a new team I realize what a steal the Freddy Garcia trade truly was, even if Jeremy Reed pans out. Very True.
  8. I think he can play all of the outfield spots. HAHA. Why didn't the O's try to keep Byrnes in Baltimore and move him into RF, instead of blowing $$ off on Burnitz? Pretty solid move by the DBacks.
  9. I hope the operation goes very well.
  10. No doubt the organization, the fans, the cities, and the coaches have been a relief for Contreras. He and Coop have shown what they can do when they work together. I hope the two sides can come to an agreement.
  11. I think it was a pretty good move. He's pretty good to listen to unlike some of his associates.
  12. QUOTE(Fotop @ Dec 27, 2005 -> 06:40 PM) No Xbox 360 version? Im going to stick to my PS2 copy. It's still great.
  13. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 27, 2005 -> 12:28 PM) Did anyone watch the World Series last year? Both teams competing for the World Series had s*** offenses. Pitching, Pitching, and more pitching. That is what wins. Why is it so hard for GM's to figure out? Great Point. Well some GM's have been working hard at that. Texas has got Millwood and it looks like they get the point, KC has been pulling out some suprise stops at pitching, even Toronto is now atleast attempting to bolster the pitching with Burnett although im not sure which is bigger ''the price or the reward'', the Cubs have made 2 solid aquisitions at the bullpen with Howry and Erye. There's probably a lot I left out but that's whats popping into my head now. Another point is that the price for pitching is sky-rocketed. Even the average pitcher can get 5-6 mil and with one good year they push to 9-10 mil. It is true that the market is changing, especially for the pitchers.
  14. I guess Hendry realizes now it's going to be way too hard to trade for anyone good so they might settle with K- Pat. But they might still get Jones according to some rumors here (I dont have any news on him) or I heard on the radio they will offer Burnitz a contract for less money ( dont know anything on that either) but that's what I heard on the radio. See unlike the Sox, the Cubs dont have the things out teams want and where they do, they can't afford to lose them.
  15. I agree that he is taking the right approach. I would too seeing that teams like Toronto and the Red Sox are also getting better, (teams that will be trying to win it all just like the White Sox and now have become better), Kenny can't sit back and wish for things to happen, He has to make things happen. Plus the division will get a bit more competitive with KC and Detroit making moves too. Now we wont just run over them when we play them, now there'll be a bit of a challenge. I like everything KW has been doing this offseason.
  16. This is a very good trade for a couple of reasons and let me tell you why. He is an inning eater (even on bad teams like Montreal and Arizona he excelled 200 inn.). He is a strike-out pitcher and that holds well at U.S Cellular. His curve ball is excellent and the main reason why he allowed some 35 homers is because of Arizona's thin air atmosphere where his pitches were always hanging. PLUS this guy is only 29. Thumbs up for Kenny. He's pulling out all the right moves. We traded away a guy who is always a threat to hit the DL, an ineffective reliever last year, and a prospect for the outfield where it is the position with the most depth in the minors.
  17. Not only is he a good offensive catcher and the pitchers love pitching to him, but he seems like a great clubhouse guy. I think him and Crede can find another stooge, don't you? This team is full of wacky and spirited guys.
  18. I dont know. I havent heard anything about the Sox interest in him, but anything could happen between now and spring training but I expect to see Anderson as starting CF on opening day.
  19. I definately think KW is looking for a left handed reliever but I think we got rid of our worst problem last week. You're right though, the health of Hermanson and Duque is always a concern but iam less worried with KW as our GM and BMac as our 6th starter.
  20. I glad to hear those words from AJ. He is my favorite player on the Sox and I think he is one of the least expendible guys on the club. This guy has a passion for the sport and a passion for the team. Hope it gets done.
  21. My standards have definately been raised for the guy. I hope he keeps his hair long and his facial hair as long as he's on our side.
  22. Very classy guy, Konerko is. Yesterday was the icing on the cake. Wherever he ends up, I'm always gunna root for him.
  23. The have a deadly offense anchored by that first line. Hasek has been spectacular thus far. They are top three team so far.
