GAME THREAD 7-19-05 SOX vs Tigers
Ozzie Montana replied to Controlled Chaos's topic in 2005 Season in Review
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) And we still pitch them back-to-back, which takes a toll on our bullpen. I'm not criticizing Ozzie here (he's had a great stretch lately), but he really should have split them up. Im getting tired of seeing contreras period. Ill prolly start listening on the radio so i dont throw something at my tv. Does he have other pitch besides the fastball and fork cause thats all i ever see? Why wont he use a change up or slider more often? -

I hope KW is not serious about not chasing anybody big for this team. Its hard to tell at times what we need more, a reliever or a starter. -
Crede not the only one with back issues
Ozzie Montana replied to Frank the Tank 35's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Jeff Blanzy just reported that Hermanson is available in the bullpen tonight. -
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 05:17 PM) Hes not the same player he used to be, and Pablo is better, no thanks. not sure if i completely agree with you cause gotta keep in mind he's been battling some pretty serious injuries, but im with you...i feel content with pablo and im happy he's succeeding here.

QUOTE(wdson01 @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) Jul 17 The Baltimore Sun's Roch Kubatko is reporting the race to acquire Florida Marlins pitcher A.J. Burnett could be down to two teams, the Baltimore Orioles and Boston Red Sox, according to an industry source. The Red Sox are offering SP Bronson Arroyo and prospects for Burnett, according to the source. The Orioles are willing to part with RP Jorge Julio, OF Larry Bigbie and minor-league SP Hayden Penn, and have discussed an expanded package that includes RP Steve Kline and Marlins 3B Mike Lowell. just thought id show you guys I posted this yesterday buddy. Check it out. I posted it on Page 12 on the AJ Burnett news and you can find what people think. **Close Thread Requested**

Id definately take Latroy if he's healthy and if he can return to his form from his Minnesota days. AJ and Latroy are very familiar with each other and AJ and Coop can help him out. He stunk it up cause stupid Cubs didnt know how to use him. Itbe be hard to take Politte out of his role as the prime set-up man with the way he is throwing though. Tough decisions

Im sure Iguchi would be upset especially since he came to Chicago to play with Shingo.

Anyone think Rowand is almost done with the Sox?
Ozzie Montana replied to maggsmaggs's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Rowand is here and will be here in the future. He fits our team perfectly. One that specializes on defense and speed. He is a tremendous CF with terrific range and he sacrifices himself on whatever situation calls him to. He was on a slow start the first half but even with that he is htting .286, 36 RBI, and 5 HR. He has also added 12 SB. In the last five games he is 10-for-21 (.476). I expect a solid second half from rowand. -

QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 03:06 PM) Pitcher Runelvys Hernandez of the Royals was ejected from the game in the bottom of the 6th inning by home plate umpire Marty Foster for throwing at the head of Carlos Guillen. The incident ultimately led to a bench clearing brawl. Emil Brown of the Royals was ejected from the game in the bottom of the 6th inning by home plate umpire Marty Foster for participating in the bench clearing brawl. Carlos Guillen of the Tigers was ejected from the game in the bottom of the 6th inning by home plate umpire for participating in the bench clearing brawl. Alberto Castillo, Manager Buddy Bell of the Royals and pitchers Jeremy Bonderman and Kyle Farnsworth of the Tigers were ejected from the game in the bottom of the 6th inning by home plate umpire Marty Foster for participating in the bench clearing brawl. I hope Ordoñez was in the brawl and I hope he gets suspended for the week. Cant avoid us this time Maggs. -

Good Job Cotts. 1 1/3 inn. and 1 hit surrendered. Call to the pen for Politte. -
I dont know that much about Redman so I cant give my personal scouting report on the guy. 121.1 IP, 4 W, 64 K's, 4.01 ERA, 1.24 WHIP. Last month he got shelled with an 8.04 ERA and no wins. I'd rather wait for Hernandez and use him and I certainly would not give our top prospect(s) for him.

That was a good outing by JG. 6.0 IP, 7 H, 2 BB, and 2 K's. -
I guess KW will be looking elsewhere and not in Miami for a pitcher, UNLESS he is flying under the radar again. The Baltimore Sun's Roch Kubatko is reporting the race to acquire Florida Marlins pitcher A.J. Burnett could be down to two teams, the Baltimore Orioles and Boston Red Sox, according to an industry source. The Red Sox are offering SP Bronson Arroyo and prospects for Burnett, according to the source. Bill Mueller could be traded to the White Sox
Ozzie Montana replied to redandwhite's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) Mueller is an above average third baseman with good range and a good arm. He's not a gold glover but is annually in the top five in every defensive statistic that matters. ^thanks -
Bill Mueller could be traded to the White Sox
Ozzie Montana replied to redandwhite's topic in Pale Hose Talk
thanks redandwhite. I was saying that we should stick with crede but this would be an upgrade and help crede nurse his sore back. How good is his glove? -
Does anyone have Crede's career numbers for the second half?
-
QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 09:52 AM) Hey if they want to give us Robinson Cano, they can have El Duque. Otherwise, f*** off NY.
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) I don't really understand that. Chavez' name has not been mentioned in quite some time. That is what my point is. You are sick off all the Chavez talk yet there is none. People stopped talking about Chavez once the A's got hot. That's what I'm talking about. OK, lets move on then. Sorry to everyone in this thread for this and if I made it worse. Which I probably did. Kalapse and me are cool.

What is your second favorite team in baseball?
Ozzie Montana replied to tony72's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Washington Nationals. I like their team and no one thought theyd be this good. AND I like supporting the underdog. -
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 07:30 PM) Chavez' name has not come up in some time. I think you need to get over it. I dont know what the hell you talkin about but this is my first post about crede and chavez. I just want to put and end to it and voice my opinion. Guess we gotta make you before we can voice our opinions.
