  1. QUOTE(bighurt2719 @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 10:14 AM) wow, you are clueless. ive been listening to hawk announce since i was so young, and i cant imagine anyone else. if you were a flubs fan you probably would have slammed harry carry when he was announcing too, who was at least three times as incoherent as hawk is now. why dont you just mute your tv and turn on espn 1000 if you are so pissed at hawk? if you dont have anything nice to say, dont speak. Here's one of the Hawkisms for YOU bighurt2719.........I love it when you analyze. Everyone bow down to Hawk
  2. I dont think we should do anything at third unless we rob somebody of a 3rd baseman and give them nothing for him. Im happy with Crede at third and im tired of all this talk about trading for Chavez...he's not leaving Oakland. Get over it! Crede's glove at third is very valuable to this team and he is not expensice to have.
  3. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 07:31 AM) Are there any actual rumors of us going after Chacin rather than Ted Lilly? Chacin would be awesome. I dont think so... Blue Jays: Team making play for Marlins pitcher Burnett There are plenty of suitors for Marlins pitcher A.J. Burnett as the trade deadline nears, but the Blue Jays are one of the teams with the most realistic shot at acquiring him, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports. Jays pitching coach Brad Arnsberg is one of Burnett's closest friends, dating to their partnership with the Marlins in 2002-03. Add to that the fact the Marlins covet what the Blue Jays consider a tradable commodity in pitcher Gustavo Chacin, and the Blue Jays have the ability to raise payroll as much as $30 million a year over the next two years and you have a scenario that makes sense. Blue Jays general manager J.P. Ricciardi recently called Marlins GM Larry Beinfest and told him to check back with him before dealing Burnett, so we'll see if something gets done. They would use Chacin to get Burnett or else keep him because they need starting pitching. There is no word if they will deal Chacin but Lilly is available. I would like Lilly beacause he is left-handed, strikes out a lot of batters, and he is a strong second half pitcher.
  4. what the hell is Carl doing holding the ball and starring. throw it right away. They just showed Marte and he looks better. Hope he's alright.
  5. QUOTE(quickman @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 06:31 PM) Missed the whole marte getting hurt thing. Was this bad or somethign he can shake off. there's been no word on him but he looked in a hella of a lot of pain. I hope Dr. Pain is working on him right now. Dont be hurt Marte
  6. Ozzie has to let Podsednik hit against the lefties. AND I still dont get why he doesnt put Uribe at 3rd and Ozuna at SS. He is better defensively there.
  7. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 04:31 PM) Anderson, Sweeney and Bmac for a player who's had a tough year?? No f'n way. I'm a huge Huff fan too but that trade would be dumb. That would be a HORRIBLE trade. :banghead
  8. anyone interested in Greg Norton call up from AAA. He was on the 2000 Sox team. He could play third for Crede when he feels too sore. He has a .293 avg. and 29 rbi in AAA.
  9. I wouldnt give Marte and Contreras for Burnett unless we were very desperate. I think we still got to see how Contreras does on his next few starts and if El Duque is healthy and see if he can be healthy enough to be in the playoffs.
  10. One guy thats impressive that is NOT available is Chase Utley. I have him on my fantasy team and he plays on the Phillies. Sort of a breakout player this year. Anyway, he plays 2nd and 1st. He would look good on the Sox and he has 9 SB. I just wanted to throw him in as someone that is impressive.
  11. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 11:03 AM) Here Here...Bring Back TONY! He would be absolutely perfect. He wants to start. Thats why he left Chicago. They were actually talking about Tony on ESPN1000 in the morning but they said that he left the team on bad terms with KW. Doesnt look like that would happen.
  12. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 09:05 AM) I'd rather the Twins make the playoffs than the A's. ^me too
  13. Rowand did his job and backed up Podsednik and it was a hella of a play by Rowand.
  14. The day couldnt have been better. Countreras got the win and pitched terrrific. Marte dominated the most powerful part of that Indians lineup. AND the Twins and the Tigers lost.
  15. What a jump by Crisp, good effort and thats a double for frank
  16. good to see Marte in the dugout
  17. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 06:07 PM) Aww, man. Everytime I'm in these threads, there's rain. : It doesnt look like its pouring out there and they havent said they are going into a rain delay broadcast. Hope this cheers you up
  18. Maybe we should move Dye fourth, Konerko fifth, and Rowand sixth. The problem is that the bottom of the lineup is doing nothing(AJ, Crede, and Uribe). I hope Crede is healthy and can now contribute offensively. Konerko is way too streaky but the last few games he has gotten some hits. Pods and Guch are doing their jobs just that Ozzie had been giving Iguchi to many days off and Willie was playing too much.
  19. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 03:56 PM) When is Dye gonna move up in the order? Our hottest hitter for a few months and he's mired in the 6th spot in the order. Ive been thinking the same thing. They should have Rowand batting sixth and Dye hitting 5th.
