  1. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 12:04 PM) Jose, jose jose jose, Jose...Jose... Let's go guys. There's a lot of guys on this team who can and should play better in the 2nd half than they did in the first. Crunch time starts today. It's time to show the world what we're really made of. ^couldnt have said it better. This is are time to show the rest of baseball that we are for real
  2. Toronto is a runner for Burnett as well and they have needs in the rotation because of the injury to Halladay so I think Burnett will go to the blue jays. Money is not an issue with them... Blue Jays: Team making play for Marlins pitcher Burnett Thursday, July 14, 2005 News There are plenty of suitors for Marlins pitcher A.J. Burnett as the trade deadline nears, but the Blue Jays are one of the teams with the most realistic shot at acquiring him, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports. Jays pitching coach Brad Arnsberg is one of Burnett's closest friends, dating to their partnership with the Marlins in 2002-03. Add to that the fact the Marlins covet what the Blue Jays consider a tradable commodity in pitcher Gustavo Chacin, and the Blue Jays have the ability to raise payroll as much as $30 million a year over the next two years and you have a scenario that makes sense. Blue Jays general manager J.P. Ricciardi recently called Marlins GM Larry Beinfest and told him to check back with him before dealing Burnett, so we'll see if something gets done. Views The Jays are even more desperate for quality starting pitching given the Roy "Doc" Halladay injury and Burnett would be a very solid patch to that problem, and eventual number two when Doc is able to return. If Burnett makes the move, he'll be going from an extreme pitcher's park to an extreme hitter's park which would make predicting his success much more difficult. Burnett is likely to be somewhere besides Florida when the trade deadline hits and for now, only time will tell.
  3. Like its been mentioned in this thread we should not bring him up because there is no where to put him and hes swinging the hot bat in AAA, let him keep on doing that. Im sure his value will rise and we could use him in a trade. I think KW lost his confidence in him anyway.
  4. This is a good chance for Contreras to prove he is valuable to the team. You go on a three game losing streak and then they have the three days off. Now Contreras's job is to start a new streak, a winning streak, against a much improved club since the last time we faced them. The Indians lineup is swing the hot bat and they are led by Hafner. Lets see if Contreras can regain his focus and come out strong against this good club.
  5. Buehrle was sharp, pitched 2 innings with 3 K's and no runs, and he got the win. Garland was shaky in the 6th but got through the inning without giving up a run. Konerko struck out in his only at bat and played defense for Texiera. SPOD was on deck in the 8th but did not get a chance to bat. He played D in the ninth but I dont think he touched the ball.
  6. I dont want the white sox to be involved in any deals with Billy Bean. The only good thing that we got was Cotts. I dont want to get another damaged worn out player like Koch.
  7. who cares, its his decision anywayz. whats the problem with him playing for the Dominican Republic...he is Dominican nothing wrong with that
  8. Roger Clemens because of his playoff experience and WS rings AND he would really solidify our rotation
  9. QUOTE(Ishmookie @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 10:48 PM) We got Pods in. Pods was happy he got to go. I'm not angry. ^yeah
  10. QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 09:05 AM) The Miami Herald is reporting that the White Sox are the team that is most actively pursuing A.J. Burnett. That would be great!!! Go KW.
  11. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 06:25 PM) I'm mixed on this. Willie has really soured on me because it seems his head isn't into the game, that being said he's a very valuable player because of his pinch running capabilities and his defensive ability. ^ Yeah but Ozzie had to go with the guy who played their heart out there and who looke like they would help the team and Timo looked like he wanted to stay and Willie did not.
  12. On Sunday, on the sports wrap up show, the guy said Willie was packing his shoes cause he knew he was going to be sent down HAHA
  13. The only reason PK is in there is cause of his RBI's. He should not be in there and he could really use the days off. I think Hafner definately should be in there instead of Pauly. Here are his stats (18 HRs, 63RBIs, .319avg) I think Joe Nathan should be in the All Star Game. I dont like the Twins but this guy deserves to be in there. 25 saves...Why wouldnt he? He was right on with the others
  14. They reported on the radio that Garland will pitch in the 5th or 6th inning
  15. Hawk is cool and no one can live without his Hawkisms. Though he does repeat alot of the stuff, over and over and over
  16. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 07:50 AM) So what else is new? lol, beat me to it
  17. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 07:05 PM) *Cracks knuckles* Yeeeeeep, I'm good. Really, if he's had his troubles but somehow has a 2.68 ERA, that's great. if anyone wants to know why he has a 2.68 and we arent to happy with that is that he allows allota inherited runners to score, i mean a lot! I have this guy on my fantasy team and he is not that good. If I thought he would be an upgrade to this team I woulda mentioned him earlier in this thread.
  18. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 06:52 PM) According to ESPNEWS, the D-Rays just picked up Joe Borowski. I'm probably reading into this too much, but could it possibly mean that Danys Baez is getting traded soon? I'd take him. Jul 11 The Devil Rays are expected to sign Joe Borowski on Monday, which could indicate that trade talks involving Baez are heating up, the Tampa Tribune reports. The four teams most linked publicly to Baez are the Braves, Marlins, Diamondbacks and Red Sox. ^per Rotowire He's definately had his struggles but it also doesnt help if you play on the D-Rays Here are his stats W-L ERA K Walks Saves 5-2 2.68 28 20 13
  19. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 05:58 PM) If Willie, Walker, and Vizcaino are not on this team Thursday, I'll be a lot happier. I'd like to add Widger
  20. this team needs more than most of us thought. KW, make the moves.
  21. this is humiliating. yeah they were on a hot streak but we had garland, buehle, and garcia and we cant win one game. Un-f***ing-believable
  22. HAH, nice to see someone on the A's pissd at the umps.
  23. f*** WILLIE HARRIS!!! .... and you too Rowand, you two aint s***
  24. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 05:48 PM) Who runs for PK?? Dye, the hot stick in the lineup is the pinch-runner and not the pinch hitter :headshake hope this plan of yours works Ozzie
