  1. I use creditkarma.com. It is free and you can update your score everyday. I think it uses transunion, but it's not a true FICO score, but it can at least give you a general idea of what your score is. I have paid for my transunion score before and it was the same number as creditkarma. It doesn't give you a full credit report, but you can see some stuff. It gives you a grade in some categories, so you can see how many hard inquiries you have, your credit card utilization, etc. I've used it for around a year and a half and I have never had any issues.
  2. my puppy Josie Trying out her Sox jersey for dog day this year
  3. I have been to London twice and I love it. I would recommend getting the London pass. It gives you free entry to a lot of the attractions and coupons for other things. You can also pay more and get a travel card with it that has unlimited tube/bus rides for the length of the card. I would also recommend going to Windsor; admission to the castle is included in the London pass and if you get the travel card, I believe the train is free as well. I didn't get the travel card last time but I remember having to show my pass on the train still. The castle is really pretty and Windsor is a cute town. As for as London, I have basically seen all of the major tourists sites and I liked them all. The London Eye is cool, and depending on when you go, you might be able to go inside Buckingham Palace. I think it's open for 6 weeks in August/September. I went to Paris for a day the first time I was in London. I went on a Tuesday, so most (or all) of the museums were closed that day, so if you are there on a Tuesday, keep that in mind. The only things I saw there were the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame, and I sprained my ankle the day before so I couldn't even walk up to the bell. We did go on a bus tour of the city so we could at least see most of the town, since I was in no condition to walk around.
  4. I used to work at a pet store and I swear half the animals there ended up at my house. I recently moved and I had to leave half of them with my parents because there is no room in my apt. At home I have 2 frogs (leopard frog & white's tree frog), 2 sugar gliders, 3 bearded dragons and 4 fish tanks (20 gal, 29 gal, and 2 55's. one of the 55's is coming down soon for 2 of my dragons). Then at my apartment I have 2 leopard geckos, 1 house gecko, 1 rabbit, 5 chinchillas, and 2 fish tanks (29 gallon & a little 1 gallon one with a betta). I also adopted a puppy from a rescue group right after I moved. She is a beagle/jack russell terrier mix. My roommate also has a pug.
  5. Kelly Wunsch was on The Score on Sunday, and he said that someone from the players union (Gene Orza maybe?) called him & said it wasn't their place to make a decision for all of baseball, and after that they agreed to take the test.
  6. Did anyone do the triva bingo? What was the answer to the question about the rookie record for runs scored with 112? I couldn't find it anywhere on the Sox website, and the man who was working near the computers tried to help me & was stumped too.
  7. ESPN has a text updater. I am not sure of the link because it was under the sports section on my phone. I have it set up to send a message every time there is a scoring play, and then at the end of the 3/6/9 innings. It is a free service too.
  8. I will be at work for most of the game, so my only option is Farmer & Stone.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 12:35 PM) Can someone bump the thread from when AJP signed with the Sox, or is that long gone from the archives? Here you go: http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28282
  10. The score just said he is having surgery Monday to put a pin in his wrist.
  11. The score said that this didn't happen from a HBP, but that Carlos did it to himself when he struck out and slammed the bat. Does anyone know when that could have happened? I wasn't able to watch the games over the weekend to remember if he did it then. If that is the reason, hopefully he can learn from it and be a little less intense next year.
  12. QUOTE (46bearsd @ Aug 28, 2008 -> 08:52 AM) has anyone found the full episode of the Show with CQ? all i can find is a 29 sec clip on youtube... The episodes are re-airing on Mojo, if you have digital cable.
  13. QUOTE (oralsoxpodcast @ Aug 26, 2008 -> 11:46 AM) That being said...anyone else think that he'd be a drag to hang out with? I don't think so. I have seen some pictures of him when he's not playing baseball and he is smiling in them and looks like he's having a good time. I heard an interview with BA a while ago and he said CQ is different when he isn't playing baseball.
  14. QUOTE (retro1983hat @ Aug 2, 2008 -> 11:30 PM) I don't have the time nor the inclination to do it, but I wonder how many times this year our lead has been a half game and the Twins lost. It seems like a couple times a week. We REALLY need tomorrow's win. NO, it's not a MUST win, but we need to grow a pair, and kick the crap out of KC. I was watching ESPN after the game on Wednesday, and they said it was the 9th or 10th time since June that the Twins have had a chance to take over first place and have failed to do so.
  15. I will be at the games on Saturday & Sunday. I'll wear my lucky Quentin jersey, so that should help them win
  16. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jul 22, 2008 -> 11:11 AM) But why can't Richard pitch Tuesday and Buerhle Wednesday on 5 days rest???? The score has been saying that Buehrle's grandfather's funeral is tomorrow, so the Sox are letting him pitch today so he can go to the funeral.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 9, 2008 -> 01:22 PM) Was that a rumor or did Linebrink really say "I stink" after the game? If he did, it shows some balls and it might be worth giving him the ball one more time. He really said it. I was listening to the score earlier today and they replayed it a few times.
  18. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 30, 2008 -> 06:17 AM) Can someone tell me the current order of the Sox pitching rotation? It's changed several times and it's confusing. Starting from Buehrle on Sunday I've got... Buehrle Danks Contreras Vazquez? Floyd? Trying to figure out who will be pitching when I get to town and go to the game on the 3rd. Floyd is pitching tonight, so Buehrle, Floyd, Danks, Contreras, and Vazquez. So Vazquez should pitch on the 3rd.
  19. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 11:17 AM) I could be wrong, and i'm not gonna look it up, but I live in NY and am fairly cerrtain we've never played the yankees 9 times in any one season in recent memory. Any discrepancy would purely be due to interleague play and not inter-division play within the AL. Again, i could be wrong but i'm fairly confident I'm not They played the Yankees 10 times last year (7 at home, 3 in NY.)

    Summer Vacays

I am going to London, England for a week in September. I also went to Florida about a month ago and I was in Detroit for the Sox games two weeks ago.
  21. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 18, 2006 -> 04:15 PM) So is it vacation time, sabbatical, suspension, or what? How much vacation time would a columnist have if his editor says he won't be back "for weeks and weeks and weeks"? I think Mariotti is lying again, or at the very least not telling the whole truth. What else is new. He said he has 8 weeks off and will be back in mid August. He wouldn't give an exact date.
  22. QUOTE(JoeBatterz @ Jul 17, 2006 -> 03:11 PM) 8:30 Jay Mariotti of the Chicago Sun-Times called in to the show. Mike wanted to get to the bottom of his vacation. This was from NorthtoNorth on the daily show log of the Mike North Show. Did anybody hear what he had to say? I listened this morning, and the one thing I remember him saying is that his editor told him a few months ago to take some time off, so he was acting like it has been planned all along for him to be off at this time. But then, Mike asked him why he said he would be covering the draft and then didn't show up and he said he decided to take a vacation. So what is it? Did he have this planned or was he told to go on vacation?
  23. Thanks, Bonderman! Yeah, I have outfield, like section 149 or 150.
