QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 4, 2017 -> 10:05 AM) They want Chuck to play the tape in court. My guess is so they can argue that Jimmy wasn't committing a crime and was just trying to tell Chuck what he wanted to hear in order to console him. In the tape at the end Jimmy says "You feel better, right?" I assume that's the angle they're going for. Good call! I am looking forward to it. I think it will be Jimmy's big win or feel good moment for the fans before he turns into Saul.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 6, 2017 -> 03:45 PM) Can't believe some of you enjoyed that Walking Dead finale. I'm out. What a horrible show. That CGI Tiger is ridiculous

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 15, 2017 -> 12:26 PM) That 110 mph pitch continues to be mischaracterized in the press. It was an underweight baseball, which is key to understanding how he hit that velo. People keep leaving that out. Not looking at you Gooch, I mean the author of this and other articles. Yeah I didn't think of that when I was reading, but you are right. I thought it was interesting all the texts he got from the front office and member of the organization afterwards though! And even though it is an underweight ball, you still don't see that from other guys. You just can't look at it as "he threw a regulation baseball 110 mph."

Pretty good and detailed article on Kopech: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2697051...paign=editorial

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Mar 1, 2017 -> 01:18 PM) Yeah it sucks that one of them will have to go home while a Nelson will still be in the game It was also stupid being 6-4.

I just picked up some club seats to the Buehrle retirement game. I remember how quickly the Konerko one sold so just bit the bullet and grabbed them today. I may cry
-
Do more tix open up for each presale or are this many of the Buehrle game legit sold out already?

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 24, 2017 -> 02:57 PM) I feel like if they were going to retire Ozzie's number, it would have happened already. I disagree just because of the way he left. That damage seems like it is being repaired now, but I imagine that is a big factor. I wouldn't be surprised if it never happens either, but if I had to bet, I'd put money on his # being retired in the next 10 years.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 24, 2017 -> 02:55 PM) Again, with Sale, let's wait to see how his career plays out. Maybe in three years the Sox are knocking on the door and throw money at Sale to round out an untraded Q, Rodon, Giolito/Lopez/Kopech/Fulmer/Hansen/Stephens/Whoever. We have no idea what the future will hold exactly. LOL no doubt, but there are a billions scenarios we could debate like this. I am more confused that it even came up at this point.
-
Are people really dumb enough to think Sale should get his number retired here? He has been one of my favorite players with the Sox and probably the most gifted pitcher we have ever had. He has never even pitched a playoff game for us. And I know that isn't his fault, but he didn't help the cause in the clubhouse. He threw temper tantrums in the clubhouse and even cut up his jersey with scissors. He will also probably be very successful in Boston and win some playoff games and maybe even a title or two. And we should retire his number? It is a disgrace we are even talking about this in this thread. I always took White Sox fans to be more knowldgable that Cubs fans, but I guess not. Even MB getting his number retired this early (before he even officially has retired even though everyone knows he is) is a stretch. Let's not be ridiculous here. The next guy if there is one would be Ozzie I imagine and that would be for his contributions as a player and manager. No way he ever gets his number retired if he doesn't manage the WS team, but there is a good chance his number doesn't get retired at all either.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 15, 2017 -> 10:25 AM) Started listening to Bill Burr everyday at work...soooo funny. He's funny but also super logical. I wish more people thought the way he does.

QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Feb 20, 2017 -> 07:53 AM) I honestly can't believe how bad the CGI/Greenscreen is for a show that makes so much money. AMC is a POS for being so cheap on show budgets. LOL I think I saw an Airplane flying in the background on when he gets back to the top of the garbage pile.
-
Watching the CT All Star thing, I still can't believe he has only won once.
-
I think Tyrod Taylor might look a lot like Kordell Stewart did with the Bears
-
I liked the Grammy performances this year and Chance winning multiples. The fact that Adele's garbage music won all of the big awards didn't even taint it that much for me.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 25, 2017 -> 12:28 PM) AKA having a guy on the team that isn't particularly liked by the opposition. Oh okay. I definitely get your point and agree with it, but did Adam fit that mold? I don't remember him having beef with the opposing team much, just with your front office and opponent of Drake LaRoche.
-
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 25, 2017 -> 10:39 AM) Being a bad teammate is one thing, but being having a "douche" is something that I think every team needs. Kopech sort of fits that mold too. What?

QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 11:17 AM) Absolutely Paulie should be in the Hall of Fame! The Chicago White Sox Hall of Fame! As for Buehrle...you have to factor in the 2005 Postseason as well. Won a game and saved a game in the same post season, which if I remember correctly, may not have been done before. Part of the 4 complete games in a row. Buehrle is a fringe HOF but I think he's one of those guys that needs to be seen beyond the statistics. He almost got the win and the save in WS if it weren't for a BS in game 2. I don't think I have ever seen anyone do more with less than MB.
-
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jan 19, 2017 -> 03:15 PM) Let me explain. Pitchers get much less wins now because of bullpens coming into play earlier. Years from now, pitchers going into the Hall won't have nearly as man wins on average as they do today (and I haven't looked it up but I bet that the same is true between now and and 2007 for example). Therefore, 214 wins will be a more acceptable number to vote into the Hall than it is today.
-
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jan 19, 2017 -> 02:54 PM) Buehrle does have 59.2 bWAR, which I think reflects his career better than fWAR because with his defense and ability to hold runners he was able to consistently outperform his FIP. I don't think he quite deserves it (one of the leaders of the Hall of Very Good though) but he's closer than a lot might think, far closer than Konerko anyway. I think a 20-win season would have helped his chances a bit. He would also own the record for most starts going 6 or more innings if it wasn't for the Cowboy Joe West. I think what he has going for him outside of numbers is that he was not only the definition of a durable pitcher, but has also thrown a no-no and a perfect game (not to mention the other times he has faced the minimum) while topping out at 90-91. MB is my favorite of all time and I am hoping he gets in like Raines did, toward the end of his eligibility. His 214 wins will look like a lot more by then too.

Who has a betters show, Konerko or Buehrle?
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 7, 2017 -> 12:48 AM) Ah, I still think its got laughs but its ending soon. I talked to Rob a few months ago and they are surprised they are still on. So while they are they are taking the money I assume while most of them have movies or other shows. I think the show would have remained more relevant if it wasn't for all of the FXX bullcrap.

QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 30, 2016 -> 09:07 AM) Listening to Dowell Loggains talk about how it was hard for him to see how good Howard is as a back(pretty much half a season to consider him as good). Saying it took a while because he basically didnt see the same talent from practice as what shown in game situations. Thats why it took soo long for him to run the damn ball this year and even still doesnt get enough enough carries. Loggains is terrible. I dunno, look how many backup RBs take over and out-perform the starters. And the offense looks pretty good with Barkely and a bunch of no name receivers (before Alshon returned). A few less dropped passes and better decision making by the Fox and we have a few more wins. I think the offense has looked good for the talent that we have had out there the second half of the season.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 20, 2016 -> 07:59 PM) Probably due to his legacy of supply-side economics or, on a more focused level, his horrible handling/complete neglect of the AIDS crisis. He ran and governed as a right-wing conservative, so it's unsurprising that a bunch of people opposed to that ideology wouldn't exactly revere him. By the end of his Presidency his mind was really gone, too. Don't forget the "War on Drugs." Wonderful how that turned out...
