  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 29, 2016 -> 11:03 AM) In 2016, I'd much rather have Danks than Buehrle. Not me....
  2. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jan 27, 2016 -> 11:18 AM) That's how I viewed it, too. At least from what we were told through the show, most of his crimes were relatively minor until the supposed murder. It certainly sounded like the judge was including the rape. Not surprising considering in Manitowac County it appears that accusations make you guilty, even if the evidence doesn't. Hell this judge was insinuating his guilt in a crime that he was scientifically proven not to have committed. And maybe the police are just lazy there. I mean it was pretty clear in the rape case that they should have followed up with the known rapist that actually ended up doing it. And it is pretty clear they should have followed up more with others outside of Steven Avery in the murder, but instead they chose to plant evidence.
  3. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jan 27, 2016 -> 10:43 AM) He's at least got Kathleen Zellner from Chicago representing him now. From what Ive heard about her, she is exactly who you would want for a situation like this. I followed her on Twitter, she has some pretty interesting things to say
  4. Also, why was the brother so dead set on their guilt? I totally understand wanting to get revenge and all, but wouldn't you want the to get that on the right person/people? He is so adamant that they are guilty and so close to the whole thing you would think he would at least ask questions about some of what was going on.
  5. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 10:50 AM) Yep, that makes no sense to me either. I mean they can bring whatever charges they want, but why is a jury believing that nonsense? Again, you have this questionable confession that details how the alleged crime occurred, but there's no evidence backing up the kids story. How can you still believe the confession is true? It also gets to the point that Katz tainted the entire jury pool with that bogus press conference detailing events that NEVER happened and that he had no proof of (other than a forced confession). We all know that the 1st narrative provided of any story ends up being the one that most people believe, regardless of whether it's true or not. So why is that kind of stuff tolerated? You're giving the public a reason to judge before a trial even starts. He should have gotten an unbiased jury from outside of the county. Instead all he got was a bunch of rednecks that had been seeing coverage about how he murdered and raped her with his Brandon for God knows how long...
  6. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 09:50 AM) If you actually look at what happened there, you find that once again Kratz is full of s***. The judge didn't let in the evidence about her finding him "creepy" because the entirety of it was her making a joke to someone in her office about him answering the door in a towel and her saying "ew." She never said she was frightened or that she didn't want to go there. And as far as calling her that day, she was 30 minutes late to her appointment. Kratz was loaded up on prescription pain killers he was abusing the entire time and shouldn't have any credibility whatsoever. On a somewhat related note, why is it legal for AD's to prosecute two different people for the same crime with completely different and even contradictory theories of how that crime happened? Kratz also made a point after the documentary of saying that he was specifically requesting her. What he didn't mention was that she was the only Auto Trader photographer in Manitowac County. As for the separate trials, but I don't think the theories were that contradictory. Steven's trial didn't focus on Brendan's involvement, but were there other major differences?
  7. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Jan 13, 2016 -> 04:20 PM) Almost everyone not named "Butler" is either expendable now or have "numbered days". I cannot wait for Derrick Rose to walk. Or wheel away...
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 12, 2016 -> 05:29 PM) The Revenant didn't force a love story like Dances with Wolves into it either...there was a point it felt it could go in that direction, which still ends up as a kep plot point later in the movie. The addition of the father/son idea was the main Hollywoodization. It got a little too artsy for me at some points with the visions, but other than that I enjoyed the move very much. Very visually intriguing and two of Hollywood's best actors out there.
  9. Snoke was immaculately conceived when Princess Leia kissed Luke
  10. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jan 9, 2016 -> 01:01 PM) Except Vader turned good again at the end of Return of the Jedi... So? He turned bad in Episode 3. I don't think he is Snoke, but the fact that he turned from bad to good again doesn't mean it couldn't be him.
  11. They are saying Snoke is Darth Vader based on similarities in their faces : http://moviepilot.com/posts/3721240 That would make Vader a complete idiot though right? Building another giant death star that was destroyed and all...
  12. And the attorneys make their points post-documentary on Megyn Kelly. http://uproxx.com/tv/megyn-kelly-making-a-murderer-lawyers/

  14. First episode of the new season of Shameless is available. Decent opener. Frank is annoying in the first episode but the scenes at the grave were pretty funny/outrageous. Debbie is turning out to be quite the weirdo.
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 5, 2016 -> 01:19 PM) People are really gullible. That guy's job is to get a guilty verdict. The documentary was spun to be highly in favor of the defense. It was completely one-sided. All of his points are completely accurate and had they been shared in the documentary, no one would be upset that Avery is in jail. The *67 s*** alone implicates Avery pretty well in my book. While I agree that the documentary was one-side, I also can't say that I can chalk up all this backlash to people being gullible. It's not open and shut in my book. If it was then: 1. why did cops feel the need to plant evidence...which they definitely did 2. directly after the trial, the jury who watched the entire thing with all of the evidence, were majority-wise in the opinion that he was innocent at the start of deliberations? Or at least that they could not presume him guilty. I've heard from 2 jury members(1 from the doc, the other in the link I provided a few posts ago) that the majority was swayed by a few individuals to rule him guilty 3. The way evidence was found and the search was done was very sketchy throughout the documentary. *67 does not implicated him as the murderer in my opinion. If you think it does, I feel sorry for any defendant that has you as one of their jury members. I'm not saying he is innocent, but I can't declare him guilty either based on this trial and evidence.

  18. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 5, 2016 -> 09:49 AM) How nobody thought that there was "reasonable doubt" is absurd though. Do I think that the police orchestrated the whole thing? No. I don't know "beyond a reasonable doubt" that they didn't though. I don't think they orchestrated it, but it would not surprise me at all if one or two of them had her killed and framed him. It was all too convenient. He is smart enough to clear almost all of the blood and dna evidence (which would be almost impossible according to the expert on the documentary), but he is dumb enough to leave her car on the property with his blood in it and bone fragments in several places? And he does this right before he is about to get a big pay day from the Sheriff's department?
  19. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 31, 2015 -> 08:46 AM) Anything particular that you read? I'm interested in seeing a view outside of the documentary's. And as an extra, I'm really glad I don't live in small Wisconsin town. The whole court process reminded me of the scenes in "My Cousin Vinny"
  20. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 10:48 AM) So the wind was at his back, which is why people are even harder on him. That said, in 3 years, bears would probably be in the playoffs 2/3 if gould could make his kicks when it counted. Thank you! I was tired of hearing how accurate he is. It seems like he misses in game-winning situations almost every time. I've thought that well before these last 2 weeks and this just cemented it.
  21. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 07:53 AM) Do they get to hang a banner for losing to Lebron in the playoffs? No but it's the same as when Jordan was in the league, if you can't have Jordan at least you can assemble a lineup to play him in the conference finals.
  22. On the radio today, a caller called in to 670 and compared Hoiberg to Trestman.
  23. A guy who never spent a day on the DL and still hasn't, had some shoulder problems towards the end of the season and everyone is saying he is done? He had 15 wins and an E.R.A under 4. Mark had 2 bad months. He may retire and he very well may not have nothing left. But it is just as likely that he suffered his first real injury in his career that affected his throwing.
  24. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 1, 2015 -> 02:38 PM) Rivers sat behind Drew Brees for a couple of years. I just looked it up and it looks like the only other example would be Palmer behind Kitna for the entire rookie season. Most 1st round picks are thrown out there in their first season
  25. QUOTE (shipps @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 03:50 PM) Those two are above and beyond far better quarterbacks than Jay. What the hell is everyone else looking at? You may not have to have a top five QB to win a SB but you better be damn sure you have a guy that plays like one in the playoffs if he is average throughout the season. Can Cutler do that..ever? No. I want a Franchise QB desperately, I just don't think we should waste 2 early picks on a QB. Definitely 1, but not 2. Wouldn't mind a 2nd QB in the later rounds though.
