Sox vs Damned Yankees 8-2 game thread
OilCan replied to southsider2k5's topic in 2011 Season in Review
This is the only stat you need to know. Through six innings: Hughes: 65 pitches, 48 strikes. Danks: 114 pitches, 79 strikes. -

I saw Santiago's June/July splits and thought "Injury", but I'll take your word for it, JPN. You're around the Barons more than anyone else. I hope he continues to improve. His BB/K July split also got me worried.
-
What in the world is going on with Hector Santiago??? From what his stats show, it looks like he forgot how to pitch.
-
Who do I despise more? Ozzie and his family. KW. Greg Walker. Most of the front office. Jerry Reinsdorf for not canning the above first two mentioned village idiots.

But remember, Peavy is BRINGING IT every night.

So I go on a sabbatical for 4 days and see nothing has really changed. Not even JR came out with the "Anyone who believes we can chase Cleveland..." Part 2 statement which I was (anxiously for whatever reason) waiting for. Well.....*sigh*

Looks like Addison Reed has been promoted to AAA Charlotte as of today.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 08:28 PM) Addison Reed moved to AAA apparently. In the Charlotte box score tonight. Noted as he is off AA Birmingham's roster.

I liked the fact that the crowd cheered for Punk louder than Cena. WWE probably did this to cash in some huge money, seeing that you can start to order Punk's new shirt from wwe.com. http://www.wweshop.com/item/cm-punk-best-i...ousel1/01-14598

Complete White Sox draft and signings list

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 12:19 PM) I found this interesting from that article I wonder how frequently this is done? Seems to be a good ploy to convince the HS kid drafted late whos is wavering between college and pro ball to sign. Honestly, we'll know by word of mouth or stories such as that. But, it is a VERY good ploy to use indeed for some of the HS yet to be signed. -

I hope so SouthSider. It was interesting to hear what KW said yesterday... I really hope that if he does pull the trigger and sell some vets to free up some cash, some of that cash will be invested in the draft. Got to start somewhere. The minor league depth for the Sox have nowhere to go but up since they're at the bottom third, IMHO, when compared to other organizations. This draft will help, but more work has to/will be done. -

I'm hopeful that Gardeck and Freese (two that I really want the Sox to sign) will sign. Those will be the ones asking for $$$$ but if the Sox can get them, that will help add to the pitching depth in the minors. -

According to The Wizard's Sox website, looks like Bryce Mossier has signed. 33rd round. https://soxbronzetitan.wordpress.com/2011/0...ryce-mosier-hs/ Quote from one of his links: http://www.morrisdailyherald.com/articles/...30887/index.xml -

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 11:06 PM) yay?? It should have been Kanny. Yeah I think so MaggsMaggs, but with Miguel Gonzalez getting the lionshare of the backstop, it's good for Smith to be progressing regardless, IMHO. Speaking of progressing, I know he might be viewed as Organizational Depth, but c'mon, what's Brady Shoemaker got to keep doing in order to go to Winston Salem?

QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 05:31 PM) Kevan Smith to Great Falls. Thanks DirtySox, I've updated the AAP.
