  1. Not signed yet, but a story on: Round 44: Joseph Pistorese, LHP, 18, 6-2, 170, Flathead High School (Columbia Falls, Mont.) http://www.greatfallstribune.com/article/2...ed-by-White-Sox
  2. Prelim. Great Falls Lineup: http://www.greatfallstribune.com/article/2...rs-taking-shape
  3. *****big sigh of relief******* Thank you Sergio. Now go have a beer and get ready for Tuesday!!
  4. Unless the A's sub some batters, you have two lefties coming up. Would not be surprised to see Matt back out there.
  5. ooooo....good topic. You can't trade the big money contract players unless someone like the Yankees came calling, or vice versa. Or Boston. So, you'll have to look at trading some assets who's contracts aren't that expensive. And that's when you'll start throwing in the white flag all over again. Floyd, Quentin, Ramirez and Jackson would be gone. Those are your most valuable assets who's contracts aren't expensive at all and can get you a good return. But, that would only cut about, what, $10-15 mil depending on what you get in return? So, you hope and pray someone would come in at the trading deadline, with a good payroll, and ask for a bat. Or an arm. I can see someone asking for Peavy if they are convinced that he will remain healthy until the end of his contract. NYY, Red Sox, Phila.
  6. IMHO, Oz has been doing better at decision-making, managing. I didn't like at first how he handled Brent Morel, riding him on the bench, but....Brent has come out better, so no more complaints from me. It's too easy to nit-pick every single day on someone and not take the time to give someone credit for the good that they're doing, like we don't acknowledge of it. For the good Pierre has done, which I'm not going to dissect every little detail, good or bad...I feel that his every-day playing is over. The eye-test has told me that he's lost a step both defensively and his strongest asset which was running, as well as when you have those two now as a negative, and being just a slap hitter, well...that's not good. I feel that if you start to platoon, at the very least, Lillibridge and Pierre in LF from this point on, then you'll have Juan's legs fresher which hopefully will help him out, while getting some ABs to the Stealth Elf, who's been playing out of his mind all year and has proven that he should be getting some more ABs.
  7. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 10:27 PM) Kuhn actually played SS tonight, but he shouldn't push Escobar out of the way. Should definitely be playing 2B every day in Charlotte very soon. Yep, I don't think anyone will push Escobar out of SS given his defensive skills...I wouldn't. Escobar is fine where he is. Just don't know or understand why this organization continues to play players who are not cutting it and having those who are stay stagnant in the minors. Challenge them!
  8. I've been noticing just a few negative posts of T2 lately. IMHO, he'll be fine. He may never hit .300, but if he continues to develop his contact first, then power, and his defensive skills, he'll be fine. He certainly has the athletic bloodlines, so that will help. Can't wait to see what he continues to do in Lower A this summer.
  9. Round 23: Mike Marjama C, 21, 6-2, 210, Long Beach State University (Granite Bay, Calif.) Sounds like he may be a tough sign. http://www.presstelegram.com/sports/ci_18257495
  10. Interesting tidbit about THE KID WITH NO SCHOOL: Round 29: Dustin Hayes, OF, 19, 6-2, 180, Walnut Grove High School (Langley, B.C.) Linky: http://www.modbee.com/2011/06/08/1722147/e...out-picked.html
  11. Just a matter of when...Round 37: Todd Kibby, LHP, 19, 6-4, 240, St. Petersburg Junior College (New Middleton, Ohio) Linky: http://www.tribtoday.com/page/content.deta...t.html?nav=5024
  12. It makes sense...Cal's Erik Johnson (2nd round) likely to sign right after the CWS: Linky: http://www.mercurynews.com/peninsula/ci_18...?nclick_check=1 Quite possibly if all things go well with the Sox and the other Cal Bears after the CWS, they'll sign too. Here's something to whet your appetite:
  13. What good is Andrew Garcia doing at AAA that the White Sox can't promote Kuhn to play 2b??? Or what good is Gookie Dawkins @ 3b?? Kuhn can play both positions. I can see Kuhn and Marrero getting promoted to AAA, hopefully soon.
  14. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 08:44 PM) Six hits(incl. a homer), 9 BBs, 1 HBP, a balk, 3 SB = 3 runs GRINDERS RULE!
  15. Thanks Dirty...love the Indians' draft if most of those prospects pan out. Pretty good stuff by Sickels as always. White Sox did pretty good too. Nothing earth shattering but I think that you have to have a good foundation of players and then go from there. This was a solid draft.
  16. Time to start trading/releasing some depth due to the signings upcoming?
  17. Funny read about ex-NBA player Popeye Jones and his sons dreams of playing...on frozen pond?? http://www.thepostgame.com/features/201106...-not-basketball Would like to see Seth donning the Indianhead.
  18. Question for Bulls fan. Monta Ellis. Yea or Nay? http://www.mercurynews.com/warriors/ci_182...ource=autofeed#
  19. Small writeup about Erik Johnson, second round pick of the Pale Hose, and the Golden Bears' making it to the Super Regionals: http://www.mercurynews.com/cal-bears/ci_18...?nclick_check=1
  20. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 10:17 PM) The same people who are b****ing that the season is over now will be the ones screaming that real fans (like themselves) can't get tickets to the post season games Or the same ones who would have said SEE I TOLD YOU THEY WOULD COME BACK if the Sox actually did come back. Relax everyone. It hurts, yes. Santos missed his location. Second game in a row, yes. But the posts about THE BULLPEN IS IN SHAMBLES or other stuff is ridiculous. Good night. Feel better tomorrow.
  21. Pretty good stats tonight. Walks down, although 3 in 5 innings. Good to see, hope he can improve, develop and advance.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 10:20 AM) One year ago today, happy anniversary! ...and yet there are some Hawk fans who want to trade the guy.
  23. Wow. Joseph Dvorsky at 35 from Texas State, my own backyard here in San Marcos. http://www.txstatebobcats.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=1957
  24. Jimmy Gallagher is a doubles machine. Already #25 on the year in his 55th game at Charlotte.
