  4. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 07:31 PM) And Shoemaker, doing his. And what else does he need to prove in Bristol, I'm asking ya?!?!?!?!? GET HIM UP TO KANNY!
  5. Early comp Beautox? Sorry, don't know what you mean..... But he should be in Kanny right now.
  6. Great writeup, and how depressing indeed. It's amazing that the Sox even developed a pitcher like Mark Buerhle in the first place!
  7. Why is this not pinned? Don't look now, but Ricky Brooks is turning in some good numbers in AA.......finally! And Fernando Hernandez....nice. Also...time to call up Dex and Jared from A Kanny to WS. Let's see them play with boys their age.
  8. Promoted to B'ham, yeah!!! Combined totals: .300 BA/.459 slg/.797 OPS/100 hits/333 ABs/19 2bs, 2 3bs, 10 HRs. Not bad for two levels. Currently hitting a respectable .271 in B'Ham now, but only a .707 OPS which has to improve.
  9. Nice game tonight vs the Rays!!!

  11. Skip June, let's talk about the last 10 games. 3-0. 3.15 ERA, 60 IP, 54 hits allowed, 16 BBs, 48 Ks. Totals so far: 8-1, 3.38 ERA, 103.1 IP, 100 hits allowed, 35 BBs, 83 Ks. Not bad. If he can get his IP/hits + bbs ratio reduced then look out. ...and he was SL pitcher player of the week! Linky: http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/news/ar...sp&sid=t247
  12. The last 10 games, Josh has been disappointing. Hitting .158, 6-38, 2HRs. UGH.
  13. BUMP! He's back, as you guys and gals already know... Stats so far are @ http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...&pid=518746 Nothing earth-shattering so far since he's back from TJ surgery, 0-3, respectable 4.03 ERA, combined 29 IP/32 hits allowed/combined 13 BB/15 Ks at Bristol and Kanny. Good to see him working it back though. Also some writeups already on the kid, from John Sickels: linky - http://www.minorleagueball.com/2009/7/6/93...run-july-6-2009 (sorry if this was already posted and I'm late...)
  14. QUOTE (whitesox91403 @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 10:14 PM) Anyone else think that WWE should make Christian be Jericho's mystery partner? It would re-hash their old partnership and they could spend the next several months trashing Edge leading to his return as a face. Jericho talking about how Edge is unreliable, injury prone and washed up and Christian talking about how he carried E/C back in the day. Tomko is supposedly under contract, bring him back as the muscle and have a nice little stable going?? Wishful thinking?? Love to see this happening one day: WWE Champ: MVP W.H. Champ: Randy Orton Intercontinental Champ: Christian US Champ: Ted DiBiase
  15. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 06:52 PM) I am usually a defender of Ozzie, because I think he is doing things at times that people here don't see the long term view on. However, this season, there are two things he has done which are just not good, short or long term. One is the DeWayne Wise show (and don't talk to me about 1 at-bat today). The other is, Poreda is just sitting there in the 'pen getting rusty, which makes zero sense. I don't care so much exactly what situations he has him go in, I just want to see him pitch some damn innings. He's being misused and it drives me nuts. NorthSide, I totally agree with you. I wouldn't have given a second thought about how Ozzie would be handling his staff. Now I am. What good is drafting this kid in the first round if you are not going to use him, if you are not going to see if he is really ready or not? Yet, we keep bringing out players like Clayton Richard (who I think will still be something, just not yet) and Dewayne Wise for what? Seriously! Prove it by this by doing the same thing to Richard. Prove that Aaron doesn't belong here yet if he does fail his first time around, then KW should do something. Don't just sit a kid just because you don't want to pressure him. Just what kind of BS is that? Did they ever put kid gloves on players like Roger Clemens? Randy Johnson? Steve Carlton? Let the kid pitch his way in or out of the rotation or pen. C'mon Oz.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 07:10 PM) Seriously, the kid was thought to have some legit talent until he hit AAA in the Braves org and completely failed. Epic. He's still striking out too much for my taste. I agree, he's doing 1 K for every 4 AB on average still. Way too much for a utility player.
  17. Not good for Birmingham so far....losing 5-1 in the top of the 4th. Starter Matt Long only went 3 IPs. Linky: http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...47&sid=t247 Viciedo and Marrero so far each 2-2. Winston Salem losing 2-0 in the fifth. Newly promoted Justin Greene hitting in the 2 spot.
  18. Hmmmmm Bart. 6 IPs, 8 hits allowed so far, 2HRs allowed so far, 2 BBs, No Ks....so far. Give me Aaron Poreda for that 5th spot in the rotation. PLEASE.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 06:58 PM) Brent Lillibridge is hitting .327 with a .931 OPS in July. And .323 in his last 10 games with 2 HRs. What was the scouting report on this kid before we got him in the Javy trade?
  20. Kannapolis was shut out 5-0 by Charleston. The Bad: KW2 = 0-4, 3Ks at the leadoff position. And why the heck does he look like he has a BAAAAD day at the office? http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...&pid=452069 Jeez, that's a Ron Mexico-type pic. (oh yeah, he's also hitting .176 in his last ten games...) Sergio Morales = 0-4, 2Ks. Ouch. The OK/Good: J. Mitchell = 0-1, 2BBs, 1K. D. Black = 2-2 A. O'Neill = 2 IP, 4Ks...but 4 bbs too.
  21. Bristol won 4-3 in 12 innings. Linky: http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...brirok_dnvrok_1 Brady Shoemaker - 3-6, 2Bs, Game Tying HR in the 9th. Not bad. Oh, and he had 4 RBIs too. Ryan Lee, 41st round pick of the 2009 draft went 2-4, 2BBs. He's hitting .333 in the Appy. Daniel Wagner, 16th round pick of the 2009 draft had his 7th stolen base. And Joseph Serafin, all 5'10" of him, a 0.39 ERA in 6 games?!?!? 29 IP/13 hits allowed/3 BBs/16 Ks. Nice. He was pick #37 this year too. Tell ya what. These guys may/may not make it, but it is sure fun following them!
  22. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Jul 17, 2009 -> 10:34 PM) No one likes my Wise-Halladay trade idea. :-( :-( BEST. TRADE. EVAH.
  23. I'm sorry, is there a real baseball manager in the Sox dugout tonight???
  24. nice answerback from the pale hose with that 4-spot. more please...
  25. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 17, 2009 -> 09:05 PM) Linebrink is now our 6th inning man? Really interesting decision. Yep, really bad one.
