  1. Wonder if this was concocted by Moronotti????
  2. QUOTE (tommy @ Jun 7, 2008 -> 10:29 PM) What a great game today and nice 5 game winning streak. The 15inning win over KC was very crucial IMHO. Lets talk about 2 base. The emergence of Alexei Ramirez makes most Sox fans very happy, as he seems to be the real deal. But right now organization seems to be quite rich at the 2nd base position. We have Alexei as a starter, and Uribe and Ozuna both bench players, both could be utility man. In AAA we have Getz performing above average and what do we with Danny Richar, who was suppose to be our future 2nd Baseman? 1) Richar has to get the attention of the Sox brass again, and prove why he belongs to the big leagues. 2) Uribe = lame duck. The more Ramirez plays and does good, great or more, the more Uribe sits. 3) Ozuna - still the Stud Utility Player off the bench for the Sox, both IF and OF. 4) Getz - Dunno. That's KWs call.
  3. Joe F'n Crede. Chicks dig the long ball. Indeed.
  4. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jun 7, 2008 -> 11:35 PM) Let me start off by saying I haven't been able to post on here in awhile and I've been wanting to hear peoples opinions on this one for awhile now (well ever since PKs been struggling). Also I'd like to say this all "what if" happens before the Swisher trade. I wanna revisit a trade rumor that was circulating around these parts in the off-season. This trade im speaking of is the PK to the Halos for Kotchman, Santana, and Figgins. Now i know Chone has had his injury problems this season and the starting staff has been phenomenal (esp. Count who I'm ruling out in this post) but how good would this team have looked (when figgins is healthy) if this trade happened...Adding Figgins would give us that missing speed and lead off hitter. This then allows OC to go down to the 2 spot where he has excelled in and with the way he's hitting now would do wonders for this team esp. when Chone gets on in front of him. Once OC gets Chone into scoring position you have Carlos there in the 3 spot who's batting .424 with RISP. Then you get to move AJ lower in the lineup where he'll be able to drive in more runs and be more effective. Then you get Kotchman over Konerko which at this point in both there careers I'd take in a second(he's much younger, a better hitter right now, and just entering his prime). This also give you a well balanced lineup of and right handed hitters. R HR RBI SB AVG. 1. Figgins (S) 19 0 7 11 .306 (33 games) 2. OC ® 36 3 20 9 .253 3. Quentin ® 40 16 53 4 .290 4. Thome (L) 27 12 31 1 .209 5. Dye ® 31 10 24 0 .285 6. AJ (L) 25 4 23 1 .296 7. Crede ® 25 12 33 0 .286 8. Kothchman (L) 27 6 30 1 .312 9. Ramirez ® 14 3 12 2 .261 How good would that lineup look????? Then you look at the pitching staff which is already pretty damn good and you're adding what looks to be an ace in the making in Erving Santana to the mix. This ultimately means that Count or Gavin, who have been 2 of our best starters would have more then likely not been on the staff this year, probably Gavin in AAA for another year which probably woudnt have hurt him that much. Now lets say Buehrle stinks it up all year and we decide to cut ties with him next year and count retires, that leaves us with this next year. 1. Vaz 2. Santana 3. Danks 4. Floyd and remember now im saying this happens before the swish trade so we still have DLS and Gio (who are both doing horrible but thats besides the point lol) 5. Either Broadway, Whisler, Gio, Egbert, Haegar, or trading a couple of those pieces to get a proven pitcher now i know the sox are winning and im not complaining about this team at all, this has just been in my head for awhile and im sitting here working overnight security at a fireworks stand so i need somethin to keep me up so i decided to do a little write up and get others opinions on how sexy this team would be. P.S. Also tell me why you think this trade never happened, was there issue with who the sox wanted, a issue with who the halos wanted, or do you think it was just a BS rumor. I apologize if i just wasted 5 minutes of your life but it was 30 minutes well spent on my part lol. To coin a phrase...the best trades are the ones you don't make. I like the lineup we have now, especially with Ramirez playing 2b.....I would love it even more if the BAs of Thome, Konerko and Swisher were anywhere above .250 right now.
  5. Guys and gals, now that the draft is done......what would be the Top 10 prospects for the Pale Hose??? I'm in no way an expert on this, but from what I've been reading on this site, it seems that Beckham, Poreda and Broadway would be your top 3, and a crapshoot after that. Thx......
  6. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jun 6, 2008 -> 04:48 AM) Who cares about this article. There is a blogger who says The Sox should trade Carlos Quentin and bring up Jerry Owens because they need speed. That blogger can blog this...
  7. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 5, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) Good article. He's kind of slowing down, I hope he can get hot again. Um....WSB....I think Q reads this board, based on his stats tonight.
  8. Nice to see "Joltin'" Joe Crede swinging the stick... Chicks dig the long ball.
  9. Wow...if the Sox can sign Kyle Long...look the hell out.... AND MAKE HIM A FIRST BASEMAN!!!
  10. I love the fact that we're getting a good mix of pitchers and position players. That 22nd round pick is a monster...6'3", 225 lbs? Nice. And getting Howie Long's son is a great thing!!! Get him signed and make him a 1b!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. quick question....are they only doing round 1 today and the rest tomorrow???
  12. Huzzah indeed! A premium prospect at a premium position. You can always get 1bs later in the draft. This was a glaring hole...scratch that, all positions in our minors are glaring holes needed to be filled. Smoak will get his but Beckham will be perfect in a Sox uni.
  13. It was a good trade back then. It's a good trade now. No offense to the original post, but can we please move along?
  14. Meh...where's my Harley? Regular Gas, Luling TX = $3.89/gallon. Up 30 cents from last month.
  15. I've acknowledged. Wow, sarcasm, eh? And that post about Google being unpatriotic......feh.
  16. QUOTE (Texsox @ May 23, 2008 -> 07:35 AM) Hey Tex, per your sig.....I was at 262 lbs on January 1st. I'm down to 228 as of today. 1) Lots of drinking H2O and lots of walking. 2) My 99 Camaro, all black inside and out, currently does not have AC; my compressor broke down, and I work in South Austin...so my daily commute is 45 miles each way to home. Here's to your goal buddy...my goal is 205.
  17. "Nothing to see here folks, move along..." Everyone except Birmingham lost last night. B'ham won 8-6 Line of the night: S. Spurgeon (W-S): 5 IP in relief, 9Ks.
  18. Not bad. 3 hits and the Sox still win!!! Good pitching, let's keep it going!
  19. Silly, It's all about the avatars! Seriously, best place to find out about the kids on the farms, and this place isn't as rabid as other WS sites.
  20. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...ros&cid=557 Nevin is listed on the Bristol Sox roster this year...Bobby Thigpen is the Manager!!!! Attaboy Thiggy! #46 is Nevin's number.
  21. Does anyone know... *Where the White Sox will be selecting in the first round next year, and... *Who may be available when the Sox draft? KW knows he has to get a great draft this year....
  22. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Dec 13, 2007 -> 05:35 PM) Debbie Downer No. Someone from the inside that knows a hell of a lot more than you do. Lest we forget who Bureau is and whom he works for, I would trust his input.
  23. Rice, Smith and Goose got my votes.
  24. Didn't Burke play a couple of times in CF as well??? He would make a good WS, either in 2b or LF. I've seen him play in Houston and on TV since I see a ton of their games down here, he would make a good addition. Also at a relative low cost too.
