For anybody: Can someone from the A-level go to the AZL? I just thought maybe something like this would benefit a player like Wes Whisler; someone with untapped potential that could benefit from extra education, and have him develop for next year. IMO with some of the press that new coach Trent Yawney was saying about Duncan Keith, I have a feeling he'll be the sixth D man in the lineup. It would make some sense, because after Adrian Aucoin, you really don't have that offensive type D man in the top 6. I guess the Hawks figured that if they were going to pay for an offensive D-man, why not go a bit younger, with possibly a bit more upside with Duncan? It makes sense. IMO - Anton will stay in Norfolk for another year. He's one dimensional right now, and that's his shot...he has to learn the finer points of defense, especially according to the Norfolk papers and those on BHZ, taking the body every chance he get. I can't wait for Cam Barker and Brent Seabrook to join the team. Also, don't forget about James Wisnewski, who can be a Steve McCarthy clone with a bit more bite.

I like the Pens "O"...but what about their D? Gonchar, Orpik, Jackman and Tarnstrom doesn't exactly scare anyone (except Orpik, who would look DAMN good in a Hawks uniform). I'll take the Hawks' new D any day of the week now. Aucoin-Vandermeer-Spacek-Cullimore-Simpson-??? Duncan Keith? Paging Duncan Keith...your table is waiting..........

6'10" bruiser in the paint with very little offense. Can rebound and push bodies around though even though he weighs around 220 lbs, so he'll be a body to throw in every now and then. The Bulls have some 4s now, with Tyson Chandler due to re-sign, and adding Othella Harrington, Antonio Davis and now Malik Allen. O and Antonio can give Eddy Curry some minutes from the bench. The Bulls have some nice depth now.

I jus' luuuuuuv Future Sox arguments! Anderson will be fine. Can't wait for the kids to show.

Chris Young Robert Valido Gio Gonzalez Ray Liotta Brandon McCarthy Lance Broadway Brian Anderson, in the right mix of a deal, can bring you a front-of-the-rotation starter. So far, Ryan Sweeney would have to be part of a major deal. I wouldn't trade Brandon McCarthy at all. If, to some, this kid reminds any Sox fan of Jack McDowell, why would you want to trade him? Sean Tracey, meanwhile, again in the right mix of a deal, can get you a good hitter or pitcher too. Ray Liotta and Gio Gonzalez are untouchable IMO because they are your two best LHPs in the minors for your farm system. You have to have as much and as many LHPs as possible. Lance and Robert because of their upside mainly.

Who's Eric Casillias? Sounds like a name that just graduated from nearby Cook County Community College. And who cares what anyone says about our team, negatively speaking? We're supposed to be "Flying Under The Radar" per our GM, or F.U.T.R. - hey, that stands for Future!!!!! I like the FU first part of that to anyone who says anything negative about our team.

Lyle Overbay, huh? If that's the case then, where do you think Paulie is going to go? The trade makes sense, only from a standpoint of a couple of things: 1) This would give the Sox a Left-Handed, power hitting first baseman. My focus is on the left-handed hitting aspect, as this would bring some balance to the lineup so that the opposition wouldn't have to hit a mostly all-right-handed team. 2) From a salary standpoint IMO, wouldn't Overbay save the Sox some money? Does anyone know what Overbay's salary is? If I'm the Brewers, I would ask for any of the following to make the deal happen: *Ross Gload, to take over 1b, or Paul Konerko if the Sox were willing to throw in some cash in the trade. *Casey Rogowski *Ryan Sweeney *Sean Tracey *Ray Liotta

Two things: 1. Safe to say that it's good that Gio is taking some small lumps now to help him learn for the future. He may stuggle a bit as a 19-20 yr old in High A, but hey, if the top brass feels confident that he can hang, I have no problem with him learning on the job. 2. Joe Borchard again. Don't call it a comeback. Keep it up Joe!
