The article gets even better...it talks about how Josh Fields is hurt and might start the season on the DL, and that Wilson Betemit may open as KC's regular 3rd baseman with Gordon out. Yikes.

I'd love to have Putz in the pen, but I don't see it happening. I think he would cost too much, even with his recent injuries. Hope I'm wrong though, because he can pitch.
-
First ballot worthy. Frank was the best in the biz when he was at his peak--and pretty far up there even when he wasn't.

I can not believe this guy gets paid to think of idiotic trades like this. I mean, this kind of trade would get laughed out of a fantasy league, much less the real world where 1. the lack of a slugging 1st baseman isn't the Sox biggest problems 2. young, cheap, good starting pitching a la Floyd, Danks, and Hudson is one of the rarest and most prized commodities in baseball and 3. 4 for 1 trades rarely happen-and yes, the Peavy trade is the exception that proves the rule.

That Ozzie one is great!
-
Ozzie being Ozzie. Let's hope it lights a fire under Rios.
-
Ozzie isn't the problem. An aging, uninspired team is.
-
Ozzie isn't the problem. Firing him would be stupid, IMHO. Walker...different story, and Jose, sadly, needs to be DFA'd.

Aaaaaaaaaaagggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!
This has been a very trying season, to state the obvious, and I think it is time to start playing some of the kids in hopes of getting them ready for next season--Flowers, maybe a few innings for Hudson, let CJ show what he can do.

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 09:21 PM)I am starting to lose confidence in the mental ability of Cuban players as they seem to be fragile which is odd based on the the conditions under which they make it to the U.S.
Is this Campanis posting? Jimmy the Greek?
Yes, we all remember El Duque's fragile mental state with the bases loaded and nobody out in Fenway during the ALDS in '05, or how fragile Jose was that whole season for that matter.
An aging pitcher who has lost his stuff and a shortstop who makes dumb errors from time to time does not indict an entire nation.

Wow. Just when you think it couldn't get any worse...
-
Well that sucked. JD Drew.

Or not.

Time for The Carlos Quentin

C'mon jim...send one yard

It would be pretty funny if we actually came back to win this game, with the board being on full meltdown mode.

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 07:37 PM)There's no doubt that AJ is a very lazy player
Huh??
-
Hoo boy. That was horrific.

I couldn't not follow the Sox if I tried...which I have. All the time. I'm in because I have no other option!
-
Congrats to Morel. from what I've heard of him it sounds like he could make a case for the best fielding 3rd baseman in the monors, not just A ball. He's been hitting very well recently also...lets hope he keeps it up in B-ham next season.

Flowers, Whisler to have another lefty in the pen, maybe Fields is KW is feeling generousm and perhaps either Torres or Nunez (but not both).
-
Arrrgh! So frustrating. We need to go on a tear in a major hurry.

QUOTE (BlackBetsy @ Aug 2, 2009 -> 10:04 AM)I just fear this is our Larry Anderson for Jeff Bagwell trade. Kenny Williams hasn't had a big trade bite him in the ass yet (Kip Wells and Fogg for Todd Ritchie was bad, but neither were perennial All Star players).
Allen is going to be good, but he is no Jeff Bagwell. I do agree though that this might be the one trade of a prospect that comes back to really bite us in the butt. Pena looks very ordinary...not sure what KW sees in him.

C'mon Danks. We need you tonight. Dominate.
I love it....
